Chanaa
currently using 2013 onoffs. Brilliant clubs, but getting beaten up as i play 3-4 rounds a week. Looking for new irons - considering epon 703s or kuros. Priority is distance + forgiveness. Any suggestions ? Thks
Hutch
503s Plenty forgiving and long, as with most epon forgings and finishes they hold up well. Satin finish.
+TourSpecGolfer
If your priority is max distance consider irons that have a low center of gravity with very strong lofts with 2+ piece design heads. Now days irons are high COR with similar titanium faces as drivers. PRGR Super Egg irons ( non conforming Ti face ) PRGR Titan Face ( Ti face ) RomaRo Alpha ( Ti face ) Yamaha UD+2 ( stainless face ) Yamaha 216 ( stainless face ) Baldo 8C Craft ( S20C + very strong lofts ) There are a handful more as well but I think these are the top options I would consider. Things to keep in mind are lighter heads, but for me a little tip weighting, lead tape, crazy stp 85 stiff shafts playing extra long length would balance the issue out, at the moment Super Egg and they are mind blowingly long distance but also stupid insane forgiving. It's so forgiving as long as your swing path is down the line of your target your deep or thin anywhere on the face is a good deal.
lousifers
I own Yamaha UD+2 and Baldo 8C. Both are super long. The UD+2 is the longest iron for me loft per loft. Thanks Chris and T for recommendation Mark
Hutch
A guy I know at my local track is using the new srixon Z545 series irons and he is blown away at forgiveness, distance and feel of these irons. Good combo options available also if you like slightly better fell and workability in the short irons. Also the new T MBs. Lots of fans of those in the mid cap range. Is it suppose to be the longer / easier vs 503 ? I had the 702s before, hated the clicky sound. Heard 703 is much better. Thks

+TourSpecGolfer
Thks chris / mark. The yammies PW is 38 loft ? Wow. Are these long purely bases on strong loft ? All of those suggested are long its going to come down to what size and look you want to stand over. All are long for similar reasons a combination of loft/low CG/face materials Some of the irons are large almost utility looking, others look fairly normal. Also identify if max distance is what you really want and is what your game needs.

More pleasing to the eye so to speak as Chris mentioned. If you don't worry about the size then 703s are big long and forgiving.
lousifers
703 is also great, no clicky sound. Much better in any aspect comparing to 702. I hit it for 50 balls or so But like I said, UD+2 is the longest loft per loft. I hit its 8i comparing with other 6i, and it's still longer. The feel is good too. Love the UD+2's feel much better than XXIO Forge
Chanaa
Leaning towards the 703 now. What abt the t-mb 716 ? Anyone played them ?
neova
At some point I might opt to replace my 3 iron with the Yamaha UD+2. Tested a 7i (27* lol) which is my regular 5i but carried longer and higher with better stopping power. It's very easy to hit and very hot off the face. +TourSpecGolfer
I had a super egg single iron and installed a steel shaft+shim then added a tip weight and lead tape on the head for D6, it was pretty amazing how long and straight it was a totally reliable result that I'm sure would save me strokes. UD+2 is of a similar flavor.
