chuck4golf
I had a set of Vega cb's along the way. Kyoei forged them I think. Anyway, the soles look pretty similar. These were a raw head and when you hit the sweet spot, best ever.

TSG can do any of the usual finishes on them,  black mirror,  copper, soft black etc.. these are all done aftermarket.  best feeling is the raw grain black.  Noboru and Chiromikey have hit these already in black boron.  In raw black they are even softer. ( Urgent help, please ) : Dear Sir, please advise : (A) which finish of (1)  Smooth polished chrome mirror (2)  Raw black is softer when you hit them ? (B) Is there an obvious difference in feeling when hitting between these two finished ? thank you so much ! Jack
nobmontana
I've played raw Mizuno irons before and the feel at impact is a subtle difference. My opinion is that the shaft selection has much to do with the overall feel of irons as well as the types of balls you use.  Another thing to bare in mind is that raw finishes will obviously rust over time and so if you want your irons to look nice and shiny for years to come,  then I would recommend going with plated finishes.  The Kyoei MB I got to test had DG S200 shafts in them and they felt phenomenal with range balls even though it was a plated finish Had a nice solid dense feel and not a mushy soft.   I am sure with softer tour balls,  the feel would even be better.
+TourSpecGolfer
Based on my experience both are soft. Based on user feedback overall spread over many brands i.e Yururi etc.. Â Most people mention feel more positively when it comes to raw grain black. Carbon shafts help a ton. Â Even steel if its a nice good flex and weight for you. I think all companies should include that with our clubs. Would perhaps increase the price just a tad.. Sort of like "provenance" in wines and antiques :-) I totally agree, that would be awesome! as long as the cost wouldn't make the service prohibitive I would definitely do that for all the clubs I buy, especially since it would make re-selling a lot easier too. one fella is having that problem right now in another thread trying to verify some Honma Beres 4 stars, but if they had something like that there wouldn't be any issue

Yes raw black is called kurozome it will wear and rust but if you take care looks awesome with wear.  9 hours ago, 604_skyline said: is this finish available or is it a one off custom? bngolfer
And I have a raw black Yururi Gekku wedge in Sweden where it is often wet. I always wipr it after every shot I hit. Have had it for 5-6 years and there is very little rust but it looks awesome. I think it gets more rust in the winter being in a dampish room in the basement. I'd wipe off any debris after each round then spray on the sword oil and rub it into the metal so it has a light coat all over to protect it from moisture. Takes 2 mins to do the whole set. I forgot a few times and never got any rust so I just stopped after a while. They do look pretty when all oiled up though!
