If its an early morning round I eat nothing, don't brush my teeth or hair throw on my clothes a cap and don't look in the mirror on the way out. I shoot my best scores this way.

If its a twilight or late morning round I never hit more than 10 putts on the practice green. It is then and there I decide if its gonna be the anser putter or neo mallet.

I never stretch or hit balls before a round.

On certain Japanese course's I will leave the driver in the trunk because it will get me into trouble more often than help.

Most important is to limber up your back, legs, and arms.

Perform normal stretches and then swing a few clubs together for wieght to get you used to the motion and loose.

I'd never "HIT IT" before stretching. At least do some jumping jacks if you dont have much time. I also go through my putting routine then my signature stretch before playing. Just do a stretch like you would before any sport such as baskeball or tennis.

Lot of young guys answered this I see...if I tried to go out and just rip it I'd rupture something important; probably multiple ruptures, various tears, numerous parting of tissue from bone...I agree with DAA, swing a couple of irons, gently at first, then I stretch my shoulders doing windmills, touch my knees, then shins then toes then the ground...then if I can return to the verticle position I do it all again...takes a few minutes but what the hell, golf is only supposed to hurt the psyche.

I have to hit for a little while before the round. I usually start with a PW and half shots and then work my way up to the Driver. I finish with the club I know I'm going to use on the first tee. I try to get there 30-45 minutes before I tee off.

I usually stretch quite a bit before a round. Exceptions are when we're late for a weekend tee time. But these should be treated as special exceptions.

If you want to stay injury free, warm up your body. If you want to shoot a good score, a little short game work before the round works wonders. Fred Funk showed us some stretches he does in a previous golf digest magazine. I tried them and they work just fine.

I alwyas try to hit some balls before I play. Half or more of the shots I hit are a wedge of some sort. You are just trying to warm your body up, so don't worry about distance or fundamentals. Find out what swing you have that day and go with it.

If I hit, say, 50 balls before a round it would go something like this. Stretch out well, first. First 10 balls with 1/2 to 3/4 LW to get loose. 10-15 balls total with LW, SW, and PW full swings (3-5 each). 3 or 4 shots with every other iron, but nothing over a 4-iron unless its a shot I'll have on the first hole (ex - 2i off tee). The main thing is to establish a rhythm, so I usually avoid long irons. Then I'll hit 8-10 split between my 3w and driver. If its a particularly difficult first tee shot, I may hit the rest of the balls trying to hit that shot, otherwise, I hit 3/4 wedges to a very specific target to get myself focused right before teeing off.

i usually just ht some putts on the green and swing a club to loosen up, ive shot some great rounds this way. ill hit some long putts and then finish with some 3-5 footers all over the green toget a feel for it. the first full shot i hit of the day is the first shot of the round on the tee. that shot most of the time determines my round. if its gonna be an easy round or i am going to fighting all round for that par.

I like Chris's routine, but I'm not superstitious. I need more to be ready. In fact, if I haven't been practicing enough, I usually won't play. It makes me practice more because I want to play. Whacky I know.

If I have time I like to do it the standard way. I like to run in the morning and it improves my outlook and mood for the day. That's usually everyday. I won't lift weights on the day I play though.

Get there early and first thing is putting practice.

Then stretch a little and warm up.

Then I start with my lob wedge and skip a club going through my bag up to my Woods and hit each one. I'll go through about 50 or so balls that way.

I end up with the club I'm going to use first and that's usually the driver. I will hit 15 or so balls with it. Just trying to hit with good contact.

I'll hit some putts before a round especially 30-50 footers. Always seem to have one or two of those a round. Then before I tee off. I take half to 3 quarter swings with my lob wedge to get used to where the ground is. I have problems when I'm not loose of not staying down long enough so that helps. Then on to the driver and let her rip.

I like to hit about 5 or 6 balls with each club starting with a SW, 9i, 7i, 5i, 3i, 5w & Driver. Next round I change it up with the even clubs. If there is no time I like hitting a few puts then free swing 3 of my irons together to warm up the muscles while the boys are deciding how much we are playing for. There is always plenty of time while they talk. You keep swinging those 3 clubs then Rip it up the MIDDLE and take their money!
