MCsub
Love the SM 490A. Â How much do those run? I believe the retail is around $900, but there are only two in the world. I paid a bit less but got package pricing for buying three putters at the same time. Really a gem; I hope it knocks the Bettinardi out of the bag; otherwise, I will sell it to someone who will use this beauty and not let it collect dust. There were 50 made of the SM490A but the Sasaya Tuned Golds Factory version had only 2 made.
mike_c70
MCSub - Do you have any more info on the M3+? How does this one compare to the M1 and M2 on the gaugedesigns.com website? Other than being japanese of course.

Other than being japanese of course. I know this is the latest and most updated mallet they make, and I believe it is longer from heel to toe than the M2. Not at all sure about the US models. I can say my aluinser is as flush as can be, and from what I hear the craftsmanship on the Japanese products is superior. Link to the Japan website through the catalog and check out their models... that is the only way to go.
Links2131
It sucks being in Syracuse, because we never get any thing from different brands. We get the same stuff from all the major manufacturers. These look like nice putter, would like to give them a try.

We have Titleist, Taylormade, Cleveland, Callaway, and Nike. For the good stuff you have to just buy it from Chris and give it a whirl. This kind of started as "I'll give it a try" for me, but now that I have a variety of the Japanese products and am very impressed. If you see something you like give it a shot! andre2you
MCsub, I see you are selling the Eldik as opposed to the other two putters. What didn't you like as much about it? I'm sitting on the fence trying to decide whether be purchase the Eldik as I already own a Futura and a Tri Hot #3. The Tri Hot fits my eye but I sink more putts with the Futura. I'm looking for a putter that both fits my eye and sinks more putts.
MCsub
MCsub,I see you are selling the Eldik as opposed to the other two putters. I listed the Eldik for two reasons. One, I personally do no need an "alignment aid" putter as I refer to them for accuracy. I usually seem to get the ball on line OK w/ a blade. I bought it because I like the design principle of moving the weight to the upper rear of the center. And it does roll the ball very well. Secondly, I am so used to my DASS Bettinardi that the teflon coated Eldik provides a different feel that I personally do not like as much. Both the M3+ and SM490A are crisper to me, and more what I like. I used to have a two-ball, but never liked the insert. Of all the alignment aid putters I have tested in store, I think the Eldik is hands down the best. If they should someday make a version w/ a milled steel face, I would try it. Until then, the other three putters I have are more than enough!
