I'm almost made my mind to purchase GD Iron sets with NSPRO 1050 Stiff shaft .. but I just read a couple of review about Mizuno MP-27....

OH MAN ...OH MAN...

Can't decide my mind.... they're about same price.. both are top quality....

Which one would you guys purchase?

I had the G's and I just ordered the MP's. I wanted to make the change because of the bounce and the offset in the shorter irons on the Gauge. For my swing and the courses I usually play, I prefer a little more bounce and minimal offset. The strong lofts in the Gauge didn't bother me, in fact I liked it.

They are both great irons and you won't go wrong with either. They are different though and I'd take a close look at the differences before you purchase.

What is the difference in bounce between the 2? Also which one would be better for someone whose mis**ts are thin or fat?

A fat hitter would be better with more bounce. Thin - less bounce

Here's the Gauge specs. Bounce is the number on the bottom....

3 4 5 6 7 8 9 PW

Loft 20 23 26 29 33 37 41 46

ライ角 59 59.5 60 60.5 61 61.5 62 62.5

FP(mm) 3 3.2 3.3 3.4 3.6 4 4.2 4.4

重量(g) 243 250 257 264 271 278 285 293

Bounce 0 0 1 2 3 4 5 6

Here's the MP-27's....

Loft 21 24 27 30 34 38 42 47

ライ角(度) 59.5 60 60.5 61 61.5 62 62.5 63

Bounce 3.0 3.0 4.0 4.0 4.0 5.0 6.0 7.0

FP(mm) 2.5 2.6 2.6 2.7 2.7 2.8 2.8 2.9

I play the custom MP-27s now but prior to this had some GD Irons,

The GD Irons were easier to hit with a very different feel, softer than the MP-27s which does not neccesarly mean better, they both just have their own characteristics.

I am playing the MP27s now with good results they may not be as forgiving but the MP's are very straight and accurate for me.

Any way you go you will be a happy man, if you go custom mizunos people will stare down your clubs more often.

I also just hit the new 2005 GD Blade and it dont look that pretty but it performs like a CB tottaly, super forgiving :surprize: IMO more forgiving than the MP-27s even for an MB. I will be posting pics by the end of the day.

What custom shaft options are available with the MP-27's?

Whatever you want as far as shafts. If you order Custom you can get any color, grip, and anything else too.

I've had both irons and I would say one of the main reasons that I'm using the Mizuno's is because of the bounce and grind. There's more bounce in the Miz and the grind is better for me too.

Another thing besides the offset that was pointed out above is the head shape. Nothing wrong with either but the Gauge are longer and heavier. The Mizuno's are more traditional Japanese with the pointed toe and smallish head. Much like TourStage and with less offset. Thinner from the top than the Gauge. Both are excellent choices and great irons!
