  1. Here's a thread for an open discussion. Who do you think is the most over rated PGA pro? For current, I gotta say Davis Love III. This is a guy that everyone keeps saying is gonna be great but hasn't done anything in years. Nobody really talks about all the times he's choked and I'm not sure why. As for all time, wait a second let me put on my anti flame suite on, Arnold Palmer. Although I can't deny the success that he had, and the incredible run at the Masters, let's face it, the guy cheats. Let's forget about the rumors that he teed off from the whites on a hole at his own tournament; let's forget about the whole entire Ken Venturi controversy with the illegal drop. The guy was all over the place. I don't think he could go more than 3-4 swings without making a bad one. If it weren't for all of the above mentioned I don't think Palmer is the golfer that he is known for today. We all know golf is a game of luck, and if you're the only guy in the field, that has his own army keeping your ball in the short grass... cmon Ok Flame suite activated.... bring it.
  2. you might not be able to get through airport security with that one
  3. Is that a slot in that 2 iron? Kind of like the VFT's?
  4. you may want to try opening your stance, by taking your normal stance, then open it up by pointing your right foot at the ball. The rest of your body should rotate along with the foot. You will find from this position it will limit your backswing bigtime. you won't be able to overswing.
  5. you guys ever see a staff players garage? It's filled with golf bags, headcovers, shirts, hats, visors, balls, clubs etc etc etc. The contracts aren't always just for the clubs. Every piece of real estate on a golfer is up for sale. Look at Daily. The contracts that Vijay has isn't to promote Cleveland Launcher, it's to promote Cleveland golf. He's in Cleveland ads, he's part of Cleveland branding. I bet 90% of the people out there don't know he has a TM driver. Point is that they are paid to be part of the marketing machine. It doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the clubs, it business. These guys are sent new stuff on a weekly basis. The sponsors make sure they have the latest marketing message. They know it's not necessarily the club people look at all the time. It's simple These guys are on TV, and if Sergio is on the leaderboard, it's a 4 hour free commercial for Taylor Made R7. I remember reading in Bud, Sweat, and Tee's the caddies will make their own contracts if their man is on the leaderboard, since the sponsors know they are probably going to be on TV.
  6. I personally love the Fusion. I have found that a lot of people really don't like it because of the muted feeling. Many people are used to the loud hollow sound of the TM drivers. So when they hit the fusion they think it's not going anywhere cause it sounds different. The best way I can describe the sound is like the sound of graphite snapping in half. Personally I love the sound. That's how my Maru sounded. Distance wise and forgiveness wise I don't think I could have found a better performing driver. I started having problems with control, which I solved by going with an X flex. I will admit that the asthetics is definitely a love/hate thing...

  8. I went to the clinic, don't go. It's a complete waste of time and even more of a waste of money. Everything they teach is in the books, on the dvd, on the golf channel. I truely felt robbed, they hardly spend any time with you one on one. My particular group, which they aplogized, was overbooked with like 30 people in it. So there was really no 1-1 time. Just like tsg4tch said, you learn how to hit a bunker shot out of a plastic arch, they teach you that your putter is too short, you spend some time chipping and pitching and then they show you a bunch of training aids. I did find the putter clips useful, and to justify the entire cost in my head, I paid a lot of money for a useful training aide. If you read the book any of his books, you will have gained as much useful knowlege as I did. Actually if you just browse through his book and just look at the pictures you can probably get just as much info. Save your money for that shiny new driver with all the new gadgets!.
  9. jyboy, I have to completely disagree with you. Let me preface by saying that I love persimmon heads, I own a few and play a Honma 3 wood with graphite shaft once in a while just for kicks. feels great, but doesn't perform nearly as well my SUPER HYTEN Kasco  First of all I do think that COR makes a difference. Do you think that Tiger would make such a big deal out of it if it wasn't? I've hit illegal drivers before and I do feel they are longer. Next I don't believe people buy driver heads necessarily because they are longer, they buy them because they are more forgiving. Everyone needs a little help off the tee, even pros. With the lighter metal heads, designers are able to put the weight where it is most effective. The next level are the composites which are even lighter. I loved my fusion, I thought it felt great and was forgiving as all hell. Persimmons are not that easy to hit, they are extremely small, the sweetspot is about the size of pinpoint and they are heavy. Your comment about the pro not playing them because they get paid is complete BS. Vijay is a Cleveland staff player, yet he uses a TM driver. Tiger uses a Scotty Cameron, do you think they are getting paid? get real
  10. I don't know, I've seen the green tourspec 869 at my local golf store for $255. There's a whole set of tourspec graphic speeders available. I think the 569 is red there are 3 or 4 more in various colors.
  11. So there was the back to back aces in Masters, there was Parry's finish at the Doral, but in none can match what I witnessed today at Pacific Dunes. For the first time in history a 4some teed off at Pacific Dunes all armed with Scratch irons. Ari playing his CB's for the first time. On 14th hole par 3 150 yards to the center of the green. 40 mph headwind and 30 mpg crosswind, elevated green with 30 yard dropoff short/left and right of the pin. Ari steps up with a perfect punch into the wind with a hint of draw, lands the ball 5 feet short of the pin, the ball curls right into the hole. Congratulations to Ari, and for those of you that don't know.... Scratch irons you better believe the hype is REAL!
  12. My first question to all you haters out there is how many tour clubs have you actually owned? If you have ever seen a tour TM driver vs a retail I think the differences are obvious. If you've hit it, even more so. My tour Fusion was completely different than the retail version. I owned both at the same time. They had different shapes, different weighting, difference face angles. Often the tour club has a more desirable shaft that you can either resell as a pull best case scenario I like it. I do agree that tour clubs will not suite the average golfer... Bottom line is most likely Tour clubs are a love/hate relationship. They are either going to be good for you, or completely wrong for you, all depends on your swing. thing is if they do suite you, them most likely retail will not. but don't hate the playa, hate the game

This club came back to me as there was a mixup with my shop. I refunded the member, who wanted the px shaft and it got sent with the original s200. It's now up for auction on ebay, please take a look if you're interested. I have a number in my head around $220 shipped if you want to me to end this auction early. Thanks for looking http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=3675868324

I have a practically brand new Macgregor BG center shafted 34" MOI M6.4K. I put a Titan oversize grip, the grip alone is $30! The rubber is extremely soft and really feels incredible. not soft and mushy like say a winn grip however but definitely softer than GP. feels like velvet. This is the ultra rate white. Most colors are extremely obnoxious like neon yellow pink or green. I am really giving up on the MOI's designs this time. I just can't handle the larger heads. I'm going to go back to a mallet. I've played 3 rounds with this putter I am pricing to sell so I can get another putter $165 shipped!

I don't necessarily think all that would fit in one thread. However I've always thought there should be categories for the BST section. Like Drivers, bags, putters, etc, that would really cut down on useless bump posting.

I heard Goosen debuted the R7 at MCI, where he missed the cut. From what I understand it was hit putting, anyone got any pics?
  18. I love the new numbers and the Scratch Stamping. That finish is awesome! Makes me want to get mine redone! These irons are really incredible. The feel and shape is very similar to my previous "holy grail" MR-23's. What's key is I had a mizuno like grind done on my irons which cut through the grass much better for me than the MR-23's did. What I found amazing was that these irons are actually more forgiving than the MR-23's. Most notably the long irons are extremely forgiving, which really took me by surprise. Hands done you will not find a better iron. I can see Waldo went with a slightly different shape than me. I like that shape too! Good luck in the tourny Waldo!
  19. One of my buddies just picked up this driver and swears it's the most incredible driver ever. We've always teased him about using illegal drivers, I'm assuming that this driver is non-conforming as well Chris? I dont' think it really matters anyway, this guy has been playing Honma so long that he's adapted his swing to that whippy shaft. Now he can only play whippy shafts, yet he knocks the crap out of the ball. Puts a lot of spin on the ball, but still gets it way out there, he's still one of the longest hitters I know. part of that has to be cause his driver is illegal.
  20. hey dude, yeah actually I had it stripped, then bead blasted to give it that PT look. I did like the black finish, but I didn't like the Designed for new athletes, plus I just really like that bead blasted look. If I wanna change it later I have a perfect excuse to go get it refinished :D
  21. Feels are pretty sweet wedges. Do you have the one that has that rubber like coat on top of it? I just bought my dad a set of feel wedges and he loves them. I've hit them as well and I must say that feel wise they pretty good. I didn't like the grind or the shape of them, but that's the beauty of Scratch, you can get any shape, size, grind that you want. you could have them copy the shape, but change the grind for your swing. I'm a huge fan of custom clubs, as you can see my entire set is completely custom. I hope this was helpful.
  22. This driver will be going up for sale on Ebay on Monday afternoon, so please make any offers before then. Thanks for looking!
  23. Tour Issue Fusion 9.5 w GD Tour AD M-85 S flex I just played the worst round of my life with this driver so it's now up for sale. It's probably one of the longest and most forgiving drivers I've ever hit. I think the shaft might be a little soft as I've increased my swingspeed up over 110MPH. This is the real deal it is a tour issue Callaway Fusion with 4 boxes on the back, it has an M in the second box. The tour Fusions have a slightly different shape than the retail models. The head is a little smaller and a little more pear shaped. The weighting is fade biased and this one sets up perfectly square. Maybe just a hair open. Performance wise, this combination has been really great for me, the only drawback is that I've been having a little trouble with control lately. I think that has more to do with the shaft. Feel wise I have to compare this with the best feeling driver ever the MARU. The sound this club makes is so sweet. With the little bit of lead tape added the SW is D4 on the nose. The club is 44.5" long and has a brand new gripmaster pro taper grip, which is like a $20 by itself. The shaft is the ulta exclusive, ultra rare Graphite Design Tour AD M-85. Joe has these for sale brand new for $350. This is the same shaft that comes with the MARU spec and is really an incredible shaft. High kick, expolosive and consistant. This is a $850 package that I will let go for $650. I'm also open to hear your best offers.
  24. 4/20 was Tuesday, and I don't know, but for some reason I couldn't find anyone. This happens once a year right around this time. Is there something I don't know about? :?
  25. Out of sheer boredom the other day I took some pics of my bag everyone to see. The driver may or may not get swaped out. I have a Gemini with a TriTi X flex on the way which I'm going to play this Friday. I seriously can't imagine it will perform as well as my Fusion, but we'll see. Anyway here they are check em out, I'm open for comments Gotta love that old school look
