Tourstage Air Muscle review
You didn't like the look of 'em? Why da' hell not? I believe Ari said it best when he noted that the SYB and the Fourteen, just doesn't know what it wants to be. It's not really an iron, it's not really a hybrid. It just looks like a long fat iron that didn't really want to become a hybrid. I must admit the club did perform, bottom line I just didn't like the way it looked. I thought I would get used to it, but I never did.

That's not a bad idea, I played the SYB MC707 I thought it performed great. I just couldn't get over how it looked. Probably the best performing club I had of all the hybrids though.

Tourstage Air Muscle review
Well I was going to change the shaft, but I haven't done that yet. It has a s200 in it right now. I'll let it go for $215 shipped and paypalled with a project X 6.0 40" long, or $200 with the s200 or head only. I'm open to any offers or trades. Always interested in putters, or a 5/6/7 woods.

Tourstage Air Muscle review
Hey Da, I'm talking about the #2 which has a s200 shaft in it. The length is just a hair shorter than my 3 iron which is 1/2" over standard Japanese specs. I made the comment about the 5 iron as in degree of difficulty to hit. It's definitely easy than the 3 and 4 iron to hit, but about as easy to hit as a 5 iron. The feel of this club to me feels more like a real iron, rather than a hybrid iron (858, etc) Personally I like this feel a lot better than the hybrid, I would describe it as more pure. I did get some swings in the rough and it is able to get through wet grass at least. Everything was wet up here this week and pacific doesn't really have any rough. It does seem to cut through grass better any long iron I've ever hit. I did use it for utility type functions, especially punch shots out of nasty lies. It does do those type of things really well. I don't think you'll be able to hit it, out of dry deep rough out for 200 yard carry. It will get that much roll though. The thing is about this club is that's it's really small, so you don't get the kind of forgiveness you would out of say the FUT or those types of hyrbids. I just might possess the skill for this club. If you're interested in buying it send me a pm. I'm thinking about going with a 7 wood and giving up on the hybrids.

Tourstage Air Muscle review
The Tourstage Air Muscle is a great looking club. It's as long heel to toe as my MR-23 CB, and sets up like a regular Tourstage iron with a extra large muscle back. I played 2 rounds this weekend including a round in mild bandon wind. I found the AM great off the tee, nice feel, somewhat lower trajectory. Off the deck it's about as easy to hit as your 5 iron. It's not as easy as say some of the hybrids are, I think it's due to the size of the club. It is more forgiving than a normal long iron. I found this club particlarly useful for those knockdowns and screamers. However I found it a little difficult to get the ball high into the air off the deck. The feel is great, it has more of an iron feel than a wood/hybrid feel. I found that I kept hooking the ball, so I'm going to reshaft to an S400 and make it a 1/2" longer and see if that helps.

R7... could this spell the end of the Tour Issue...
Personally I wouldn't try it, but I believe the market is ready for the concept of a configuratble club. Golfers are much more aware of equipment now, than they were in the past. There has been so much innovation in golf technology that everyone pays attention to the details now. I think the club will do well. I believe by the time the R7 hits the US market it will be a dual face driver, with it's composite shell

X-Blade AirMuscle
I'm not sure how long the standard x-blade 2 iron is, but my xblade with the s200, is shorter or maybe the same length as my 3 iron. I'm reshafting anyway. As for the lie why not just make it longer, thus changing the effective lie angle? I will probably make it 40" which is what I usually have for my 2 iron length.

X-Blade AirMuscle
Hey Da, I finally got my air muscle yesterday. It looks really sweet. I've only hit a few balls into the back of Ari's couch but it feels really nice. It's a lot smaller heel to toe than the FOURTEEN, which I really like. There is almost no offset, and the club sets up like an iron. Looking down on it from address, the topline reminds me of the Big Bertha for some reason, but then it has the that thing sticking out at the bottom, which really inspires confidence. The topline is rolled which makes it look a lot thinner than it really is. Hitting the ball into the back of the couch, it feels pretty pure. I'll put it to the test this weekend at Pacific Dunes and will post pics later on. In my book as far as looks go I would rate it a 9.5, leaving room, cause there's alway somthing better.

Tourstages awesome booth **PiCs**
Those ViQ's are look like pretty sweet high tech irons. Are they oversized? They look oversized, but I can't tell for sure.

Slight reverse C ok?
Actually I don't notice it at all with the driver. I swing so hard with the driver that my momentum carries me to an upright position. sometimes I'll lose my balance and get whipped around, but the ball is long gone by that time. It's not that I am trying to gain some benifits from it, I just noticed that it's there.

Slight reverse C ok?
So in my mission to become Vijay, and molding my swing to look as much like his as I can make it, I realize now that I've developed somewhat of a reverse C. It's not bad, I'm definitely shifting my weight to my left with my hips, but in order to maintain my spine angle through impact I've developed somewhat of a reverse C. Like I said it's not bad where my weight is back or anything like that, I'm definitely shifting my weight through with my hips, and my hips are clear before impact which give me plenty of room to come through with the club, just after impact I don't always end up upright. So then I studied Vijay again and noticed he does pretty much the same thing. Then of course there is the king of reverse C Palmer. Is the the reverse C not nearly as bad a problem as people make it out to be?

X-Blade AirMuscle
LOL And I'd love to give you one. I don't know what happened but mine still hasnt' arrived yet! I'm playing with 13 clubs! Maybe I'll carry both drivers

Tried VJs glove under the pit drill
Chris, I've used that technique to insure that I "stay connected" It is very useful as it ensures that you swing with your hips and make a turn as opposed to using your arms. Another thing you can do is make sure while you are doing that drill make sure that your takeaway is correct. While I was doing that drill I noticed that sometimes my club gets inside of my hands too quick. Which means my wrists cock to early which means that I come down too steep on the ball. make sure the club head is pointing to the sky when the shaft is parallel to the ground. Good luck Chris, I hope this helps CL putting one under your right arm just seems wrong. Doesn't that make you go really far to the inside on the backswing? That's shortening your backswing and I would think make your approach very steep. :D

Best Instruction Books???
Dave Pelz 10 minutes to better putting is pretty much what you would learn during the putting session of a Pelz clinic. It's simple and explains everything as a science. Very easy to follow will improve your putting dramatically. I have to echo what other have said about Harvey's book. Probably the best foundation of any book out there. I think the rest of the instruction books will give you too much to think about and cloud your head.

Anyone ever switch from interlock to overlap grip?
Aw man Primo, must be something in the air!!! I am going through the same thing over here. Its funny how much I have seen parallel's in your game resencently (your scores are a little low than mine but on the curve its all the same)... We both started taking long term lessons, had success right off the bat, now things are falling apart  I worked on my grip got it to a more convental style. I still rock the interlock. I thought about switching to an overlap but it just didn't feel right. The most important thing is that your hands feel natural on the club. If you don't trust your grip nothing will work. Just wanted to give an update on my condition. I went to the range committed to the overlap grip and it really worked. I'm not sure what it was but it somehow cured my swing! It drastically shortened my backswing, I can't grip to tightly on the club and my finish somehow is very high which I haven't been able to do as naturally as I can now. So far at the range it's incredible. The real test will be on the course. I think I was meant to play overlap because it's already feeling comfortable. I think I almost had TOO much control with interlock and I would try and do too much with the swing knowing my hands would compensate. With this grip, it seems to me that I can't grip too tightly. Maybe it's just cause it's new, we'll see. Hang in there Pete there is hope yet

Anyone ever switch from interlock to overlap grip?
My game is in shambles right now so I'm examining my posture and grip. I think I've been gripping the club too tightly and I started experimenting with an overlapping grip. I can't hold the club nearly as tightly and it almost makes me take a nice easy swing. This is just theory as I'm in my living room, but it feels really comfortable. I started with interlock cause that's what Jack used. My fingers aren't particularly short, and it seems the overlap might suite me. I'll have to check it out at the range tomorrow. Anyone else switched after years of using interlocking?

I think I might be a lefty!?!?!
Dude Pete, don't get so paranoid. You just hit a little plataeu. IT happens. Your swing goes into a funk and there's not a damn thing you can do about it but grind it out. Don't waste your money on swing aides or left handed clubs or anything else like that. You just gotta keep playing and sooner or later it'll come back to you. It's just the game of golf telling you who's boss. You probably got a little too cocky and the golf gods are taking it out on your game. Hang in there man! BTW if you want the easiest club to hit ever pm me about my 3 wood! LOL

Ribbed vs round which do you use?
That's really interesting. I have noticed actually that a lot of pros use Ribbed. why is that? you're a pro aren't you eyes?

Ribbed vs round which do you use?
You know I always liked the round grips better, but I just got my MR-23CB's and they have the tourstage full cord grips and I just noticed they are ribbed. I was going to rip em off, but I'm really starting to like these grips now. I might actually change the rest of my clubs to ribbed and cords. I'm thinking might go with Lampkin cords this time, instead of the usual GP v-50's I have had my whole life.

Ribbed vs round which do you use?
Which grip do you use? And why the hell doesn't golfsmith have 2 different models for them? Last time I regripped i had to freakin go through an entire box to find 4 round grips.
