i have had the oppurtunity to test the md6 in my 3 wood. i was getting more carry with my 5 wood w qt than my 3 wood with the md. the md had too low of a ballflight for my liking. my friends swear by them though.
  2. how much will one of these sticks set you back?
  3. these look good. cant wait for the hybrids:)
  4. chris is this pretty common in japan? i mean most large conglomerates and top 1000 companies coming up with golf divisions or something. anyway im real excited with this as well.im eyeing the hybrids. if its anything like the gfields im sold!
  5. just to update i picked up a quattrotech md6 on my epon 15* wood just to settle the unanswered questions that were plaguing my mind these last couple of weeks. i ended up getting a quattrotech md6sr with a sw of d3. the club and shaft had superb feel although i did not like the way my ball flight was getting. i already knew that the ball flight of this was going to be lower but for me it was way too low that i was loosing some serious distance compared with my 5 wood shafted with quattrotech green. i was expecting something similar to my pt shaft but this was significantly lower. so questions answered and peace of mind obtained. i have ruled out the md series for woods at least for me that is. the quattrotech green is still king for me and will reshaft my 15 witha nother qt. i can see this working well for folks who hit their ball naturally high or with a driver. i on the other hand hit it quite low so dint need the lower trajectory.

jeff i myself went through the same journey and discovered the wonderful world of graphite. it was totally by accident when i used it on my wedges and i loved the feel. especially with the shock absorption. so i changed my whole set to graphite and have used for months. i have the axiv 758 and the tour ad series. i love both but i give the edge to the axiv in terms of performance yet give the tour ads the thumbs up in the feel department. you cant go wrong with either. good luck

anyone try these of contemplating on doing so? i know they are forged from s20c steel and such but how do they actually stack agains miura etc etc or other top forged blades? i am not expecting much just wanted to satisfy my curiosity since they are a cheaper alternative to other manufacturers. any ideas?

i agree about the weight differences. i wouldnt worry about it and stress myself with the mental gymnastics of what if??? anyway mr j has said it right! epon has two of the best drivers around!
  13. well i am quite surprised becasue people claim that the QT has a high ball flight although for me i find it to be lower than i expected. i get a nice boring trajectory with less backspin and lots of roll. so much in fact that i have used this with great success while my 3 wood is in the shop. i get a consisetent 250 ro so with this off the tee. my tempo is somewhat quick and more on the agressive side but the shaft holds up well and i can really feel it loading up. i can really feel it working almost feeling the bend profile/kick immediately. so far so good and this has been the shaft i have been waiting for for my 5wood. previously tested 4 other brands but always something lacking. now i am completely satisfied.

  18. just wanted to update everyone i have decided to put the quattrotech 55 instead of the md in my 5wood. let me say that this shaft plays better for my swing compared to my qt75. awesome feel and i can feel the shaft really work the ball. i get a nice boring trajectory that starts low and just seems to rise. i would not call it high but average. i am glad i got this one. i am planning on getting a 3 wood with the md6 for lower trajectory shots. for those that havent tried the GDs let me say that they are the best feelings shafts out there, the feel is so superior to other brands ive tried. this is the 3rd epon 5 wood i have bought and experimented with once with machline shaft and twice with assorted quattros. the third being a charm.

smart way to do it. if you dont find anyone in the area you can always drive to vegas and test the embs in person:) if not i say pull the trigger you cannot go wrong.

Lol! not going to comment where i got it all i know is its awesome! actually i got both drivers because i am a equipment junkie and no junkies fix can be quenched unless he has a taste of the finest offerings of technologically packed gear out there. it so happened epon had them and i just had to pull the trigger. Both are fine drivers but i give the edge to the emb even though i use the epon af101. i also had the zr460 but did not adapt well to it due to the deeper face. it was also significantly less forgiving compared to the emd and a little less than the af101. i will say this again that the emb is the longest driver i have ever hit and straightest too! the af101 for me is just as long but not necessarily as straight. lets just say that with my pals i usually play the af101, i just love it for personal reasons just as much as others would love the emd. but when going to a gunfight or money is involved i will take my emb any other day of the week. its like a tomahawk cruise missle that finds targets far far away. ok maybe not a laser guided tomahawk more like a howitzer:) in the end its a personal choice and i myself had the same dilemma as you. choosing between two equally good things is a tough decision. only you can answer that. but i made it easy on myself by getting both. that way no need to rationalize and play endless, sleepless nights of mental justification etc etc. now i have two awesome drivers i can use depending on my mood. good luck!
