  1. Great news! Hopefully Will will get on a roll. Hope his teaching prices don't go up! :yuk:
  2. How about taper tip project x.
  3. Its in the Tour Specs links section. I don't see the 05's up yet but, the 04' are there: http://www.crewsgolf.co.jp/rjb.shtml
  4. I would wait for ebay, or post a WTB ad, to get a Betti DASS unless you want something very specific. The Japanese Bettis do look better, they have to be different designers as they do look much better than the US designs. The classic Bettinardis were very similar to the Japanese designs. Also, the heavier heads will be for Japan.
  5. The RX-1...now there's a good club. I often think of picking one of these up again. Hope I am not stepping on any toe's here dd . But there is one on eBay right now . Unfortunately, It 's the Type 275, non-conforming model. The 315 is the pear shaped killer.
  6. I picked one up awhile back. I think its close to 10*. It seems to hit a little lower than stated loft. For awhile, the only ones that were floating around were 8.5*. I was able to get one of those up fairly well though. There is probably more like a couple hundred available. Like the RX-1.
  7. Most people use a swingweight chart.
  8. They quote by batches so, a group purchase would be more cost effective. www.blackoxideservice.com
  9. If its the original gun blue finish, you can soak it in coke and then apply a gun blue solution to it. Just takes a visit down to a gunsmith store or Walmart. You can also check to see what they have to remove rust and restore the finish before stripping the head completely as well. Also there is Titelist, or 3rd party guys like, Black Oxide or Kevin Colbert at Putterplating.com I wouldn't send it to be powder coated, the milling marks don't quite look right afterwards.
  10. lightrider replied to Mr. 67's post in a topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Sharp grooves, heads are too light. Lots of tape needed. Great head shape, good grind but, the finish won't hold up. If you can overcome the cost, weight, and fast wearing finish, they are good wedges.
  11. I am not defending the Cameron market as much as I am tired of people slamming a real market. Why don't you slam the stock market as its the same thing. Again, obviously you haven't looked at comparable markets as I have indeed seen shopping bags and wrapper from LV, Prada, etc. sold on ebay. It is crazy but people buy it. I scratch head and laugh at it. You think the wolds coming to the end....
  12. Jboy, Has anyone said stampings, headcovers, or Cameron Winn grips make you putt better? Do rear spoilers make Honda civics go faster? People collect stamps, lamps, coins, or whatever they find interesting. Just because you can't comprehend something, doesn't make it stupid. It makes it an enjoyable hobby for someone who likes to do it. One of the reasons why the headcover market is there is because most Cameron collectors can't afford Tour or hand made putters. Heck, under your assumptions, there must be alot of uneducated people in Japan, as well as the US, as there sure alot of collectors there, even a museum. Hugo Boss???? That's high end for you, huh? I collect Camerons and Bettinardis so I guess I must be thicker and more gullible than a women and I do wish they were early Pings because some of those are worth a hell of alot more than my entire collection. But again, I guess you don't understand the market or what actually occurs as most headcovers don't make it onto the course. How many collectable stamps do you think make it onto letters? Btw, what car do you drive?
  13. I understand your point, but cost is relative to everyone. I don't know anyone who collects grips, like headcovers, and they usually get slipped on $1500.00 "Tour" putters. Its just like the "tour" stamps on the putter themselves, its another way to differentiate the putter. I agree the prices seem ridiculous but, if that's the market, that's the market. Some people buy high, and other think they buy low. :money: :smile1:
  14. Exactly!! Why does it matter who is the OEM? Cameron didn't make the steel, he just designed a putter head around it. Very few Camerons are handmade and he still didn't forge the steel. In reality, most tour cameron heads are really just a heavy retail head with different stamps. The market dictates the price, which is a product of Cameron/Titleist marketing. You can't go to AME, Winn, or GP and buy the Cameron creation. You can buy the same model but, not the same design. I think none of you guys have girlfriends or wifes as they sure can tell you the difference between a real and fake Prada. When the restoration shop opens, I bet you see these grips and they will go down to $35-$50 a grip. Of course, the real manufactured value is probably a few bucks. The value of Heacovers and grips is somewhat of a good thing because if you buy $1500.00 tour putter, at least you can assign some value to the headcover and grip.
  15. I don't think anyone claims that a headcover makes them play better. I do know people who claim a $300 shaft will give them 50 extra yards. The Cameron market is saturated but, it still bringing these prices. When will it end, who knows. The biggest market for Camerons is Asia. TSG emphasis equipment from Asia. I guess I don't understand your connection with TSG and the Cameron Market. Are you implying that Cameron is Fraud? He might not be the most original designer but, you got to give him his props.
  16. The Winn grips have been bringing that price for months. They are Tour only at this point, and are hard to get. Its all supply and demand. Don't forget that those items, in Yahoo Japan, will bring more money than ebay. As for the durability of the grips, I have never had to change a worn out putter grip but, I have alot of putters to choose from. The first Mickey covers went for around $1500-$2500. Again, supply and demand of two highly collectible entities. The Mickey covers are rare and can only be bought with a putter at WDW pro shops. They will eventually go down in price, probably $300-$500, but still alot of money for alot of people.
  17. Yep, A slit cut into the cavity has produced the best sound for me. It was explained to me that the Alu insert is actually supposed to mimic a floating face, in balance but, I couldn't find it comparable. Bettinardis interpretation of .5 slots, and dotted lines just didn't quite sound as good as the full 4" cut. Anser heads have traditionally been the head of choice as other models don't sit well when they cut the slit. I've seen a SC studio 1 with a slit that looked pretty cool.
  18. 303 teflon, alu, floating face and ingots to make it heavy is a combination I would like to try. Team it with a Fuji TS putter shaft and it would look great. I prefer a full floating face compared to one that goes into it. I perfer either a sight dot or topline line for alignment.
  19. http://www.bs-golf.com/ There won't be many places you will find in the US that will have Japanese products in stock. Chris(TSG) has a tourstage account and can get things pretty quick.
  20. I don't like Baby Ts so, I have 2 Cameron Red Baby T grips pulled from a Futura and Red X. Looking for $35.00 each shipped USPS priority mail within the US or best offer. I would be willing to trade for a Cameron Studio USA grip, 1 for 1 as well. I will send pics if needed.
  21. I really like the 53.9*. The 60 has maybe a little too much offset. You will probably need lead tape for both of them. The grind is fairly versatile.
  22. If you've hit MR-23 blades and CBs, then you know the CBs are definetly Player's CB. I started with Cleveland Quadpros, TA5s, then MR-23s, and fiddle with some X-16 PS. These all play very differently in terms of ball flight(COG), look(offset), and forgiveness(size of head). I find that I can play X-16s and MR-23s any day of the week but if I haven't played in a couple of weeks, X-16s are alot better bet. Now there are some very forgiving blades, like MP-33s and Mac V-foils and I think they are at the same level of 23 CBs in terms of playability.
  23. According to Todd, TKS, he says that Rocco likes "off the wall designs" and helped Bettinardi design this. Of course if he wins with it, it will the hottest thing since slice bread.
  24. Chris, Does the black Teflon take away from the feel of the clubs?
