Japanese Longest Driver gear (Nexgen & FlyingCat)
Currently trying out NexGen balls. Orange premium distance. Hard to make good comparison. Course is unbelievably dry, hard, and fast. Carry seems to be the same as xjd, which is my current ball. No idea about the company. Anymore details?

What do you guys think of the new Fourteen FH1000?
Weren't the TB1000s forged but the TB1000 PROTOs were cast. Extremely soft castings.

Anyone remember this putter?
It says handmade on the face, then forged CNC on the sole? I remember these Forged Ls. I was always trying to get one to test but no luck.

Squaring the club face, blades vs CB.
I think everyone is misreading Carlo's post. It is supposed to read "Thanks im finally goingNOT do this. Im done experimenting:)....from now i'll order everything stock or custom direct. I won't be having any clubwork done locally" Sounds about right?

P-Tune PG313
I read on the TM site last year that the RBZ Non Tour had that design. Outside that plug is low and away. It is cosmetic. I emailed TM and they confirmed that internally on the non Tour RBZ the weight is low and forward. I kept making sure because I really wanted a low and forward CoG but really did not want to buy white and TM. No other choice at the time. Now with a DI nothing has come close.

Squaring the club face, blades vs CB.
I've always experienced that bigger face area whether irons or drivers were more forgiving in the distance loss departments. Mis**t a smaller headed blade or driver would be straighter but also distance loss would be more significant. I guess it'll come down to when you mis**t your 6iron would you rather be 15 yards to the right and 5yards short or 15 yards short and 5 yards to the right.

I'm a believer in the low and forward CoG. I think low and away changes the dynamics at impact and adds loft. I have less pop ups with my low and forward CoG driver. You just have to go up in loft to keep launch ideal.

driver shaft in a hybrid?
The reason why I mentioned lead tape and grip tape is that unless you build it over-length swingweight may get uncomforatbly light changing how the shaft reacts. Grip tape because a shaft starts to taper quickly when beyond the normal butt trimming range. If you butt trim a shaft too much the lower portion f the rip may need some build up tape underneath.

Just wondering about JDM wedges
I was discussing with a friend. Basically If a wedge has older grooves that is still legal for us AMs to use BUT has been manufactured after the deadline for making those older grooves it can still be deemed illegal by the USGA for AMs to use. In fact I would even go as far o say they would be illegal if advertised as having the older non-conforming grooves. I may not like it, but it looks like my search goes on for older V3s and Callaway X Tour wedges.

driver shaft in a hybrid?
Check hosel and shaft sizes to see if they match. Also check on other things like PTS and cut weight. I have a Fuji 857 pro ti that has been in my Nike T100 for 7-8years now. Nothing has come close. I did have to tip almost the entire PTS just to make the flex playable in a hybrid. I would think that with the newer lighter driver shafts you may have issues with weight and balance. Your clubbuilder would have to be good with tip weights and grip tape.

Why there is no Epon on TSG anymore.
I have to have my caddy clean them because my umbrella girl (unique experience everyone should get to try at least once) is busy getting my rangefinder, golf balls, and tees together to put in my bag. :)

Why there is no Epon on TSG anymore.
I use an air compressor to spray it out. My club has one just off the 18th to clean dirt off shoes. I have my caddy clean the undercut of my 701Gs after I play.

Just wondering about JDM wedges
This occurred to me while I have been shopping for NOS (New Old Stock) wedges. I am an Am, so the groove rules will not be applying to me for a while. I love the spin I get from the older wedges. I tried the new ones but can't play all the shots I normally get to do with the older wedges. The ball back in stance low checker from 40-70 yards in particular. The JDM market still produces non-conforming drivers, although not many. Since it seems that they are not above making drivers that are not legal at all, why not make wedges that are in fact still legal for us Ams? Just wondering because my other wedges are pretty worn, MT28 V2s, V3s, and tour issued ('08) Fourteens, my older TS wedges. I actually put a set of Akiras that were in my guest set in play just to get that groove action back.

Seeking your opinion - Bay case
Not going to work. It is a .335 bore/hosel. Even when you do it is not that much difference. I shimmed my Classic and it improved, but not dramatically.

Seeking your opinion - Bay case
He should have asked you. I know it sucks for a buyer but tourspecgolf is caveat emptor. Nothing in the description mentioning it means, buyer beware. I bought a Cleveland Classic last year head only on tourspecgolf. Every Cleveland release and 90% of the reviews say the 290 had a square to slightly open face. It gets here and it was looking to be at least 1 degree closed. Everyone that looked at it said so. Since I didn't ask the seller, I took the "loss". As for the better player=no closed face argument. Not all the time. I have 3 guys (handicaps 2,4,5) in my regular groups that set their adjustable drivers to slightly closed because they want to hit a draw each and every time. No two way misses for them. I on the other hand a handicap 10 play my driver slightly open.

Is Honma making a come back??
Honma's bread and butter will always be the executive/aging/status golfer but they have quality products for the better golfer. The Tour World blades and the player's CB (they have been still been making them every 2-3 years) are solid products. We just don't get to see/try those products much because they are less available and less marketed. Don't dismiss the brand because the guys you have seen using it are old and aging. PRGR, Yamaha went in that direction in the early 2000s because that is where the money was in the Japan at the time. There is a huge "aging-executive who wants status" market in Japan. Just look at Majesty, Gliore, etc. The problem with Honma is like most aspirational brands (LV, Gucci, Mercedes, BMW, etc) is that there will always be the "wanna-be" crowd that shows off, becomes a negative and takes away from the actual product. Honma went bankrupt because they started financing golf courses then the Japanese economy dove. If they stayed with golf equipment, they would have weathered that financial crisis. When was the last time someone here actually tried a player's or even non-player's Honma product? I doubt it because most of us are not their main market. I had TW CBs that were circa 2004sh for a while but couldn't stand the PW look. I recently tried the irons that have the red badge in the back, Beres Pro with some ARMRQ graphite shaft. These were as good, or even better for me than any recent Yamahas and PRGRs that I have tried. I would even pick them over the 301s that I had a couple of years back. I agree about being overpriced because I don't like spending much for equipment but guys here drop $700 on a shaft, $1,000 on a retail putter, $80 on a dozen balls. Getting value for money is a low priority in the JDM world.

Waccine Component Shafts - Another High End Boutique Boron Shaft Company
I think after the Stinger (2) resurgence ahile back few companies have come up with Boron shafts. All in the $$$ price range. Most really stable performers. I wonder if any of them have solved the britlleness issues of the first gen Boron shafts. A pro had a Pnoez PX-i (?) boron shaft he showed me and said it was a US$700 shaft. I hope he got it for free.

New Epon Products... RF again.
Srixon and Tourstage couldn't get in with slightly lower offerings (701/701 tour, Zstar irons, Z101s). I guess these are for "other" JDM buyers as well. Those who would be buying Burner Forged, etc.

New Epon Products... RF again.
I would rather they skip a year if they are still developing product. I like the look of the 5version but whether you are a first time buyer or a repeat customer a rerelease of a product less than 3-4? Years old just doesn't sit right. Maybe it is just that, releasing something for the sake of releasing something.
