  1. As stated above I think there is alot of merit in the shorter driver theory. My only concern with this is the change in swingweight it brings and the complication of trying to get it back to 'standard'. Trialling additional weight with lead tape on jdm heads sounds rather problematic. ... Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  2. Apologies if this is question is not allowed. These are endo forged where in the epon range would they compare to. Are these 5 series equivalents or more gi than that. Have always liked callaway stuff and these look fantastic.
  3. Head only?
  4. Thanks for your reply, my old man is in Sydney and won't play if it is raining!!!! I'm in Yorkshire and if we don't play in the rain we'd never play...... (got to move!!!)
  5. Thanks all for the replies. I know that the V-spec is known as being a (very?) low launching head, so not too sure which loft I should be looking for? The combo I have is very playable and I will be keeping it, it is just with the softer fairways at this time of year I need something which spends a bit longer in the air. Would a 10deg in an AF-103 or XV be about right or launch too high? Always fancied a Yamaha, what is the view on the v203. At 440cc how forgiving is it? From all the above would a 10deg be about right? I find the cupped face an interesting concept (high level tech is one of the things in JDM that I love), does it work? Is it only Endo forged heads that come with it?
  6. The season here in the UK is just about over, so what better time to look for a new dirver!!!!! I currently have a V-Spec 9.5 which is a low launcher (with Fubuki Alpha 70S). I'm looking for a new used driver head to go with another Fubuki Alpha that I in the garage. I what something that is square or slightly open, forgiveness is important (although don't want to lose too much distance compared to V-spec) and that launches a little bit higher than the v-spec. Can't afford something new new, so looking at slightly older models from BST, what do you guys suggest? If I went for another D1 (say the standard or Premia) should I go for the 9.5 again? What are the thoughts on the Romaro or S-Yard XV?

Hi do you know how the flight of the premia compares to the v spec? Was thinking v spec in 10.5, so interested if this may be comparable. Thanks
  8. Must resist...... Think I'll just pretend I didn't see this.
  9. Man, you've got it bad. Think there should be a new section set up where people can discuss their 'problem', something like JDM Annoymous. Gotta tip my hat to your style though
  10. Thanks all, think you are all correct about it being a weight. It was used, but came with the stock shaft so hadn't considered it having been 'tinkered'' with. Looking forward to trying the Kai'li 80 to see how it goes.
  11. Have not used the 551s, but was did play 501 prior to my current 502s. Personally I prefer the 502s. I didn't like the 'click' of the 501 and prefer the feel of the 502. Ultimately I think it comes down to the feel you want from the iron as there wasn't much of a performance difference.
  12. Have just pulled the stock shaft (m-46) out of my egg hd. While inspecting the removed shaft I noticed that the tip seems to have a metal cap at the end. Does anybody know what this is for? Is it there for any specific reason? I'm about to reshaft with a Kai'li 80 is there anything I should know? Thanks in advance
  13. How come this hasn't gone yet?? If I didn't already have one I'd be jumping on it (still considering it)!! Awesome head and the Kaili is a super smooth shaft, the buyer is not going to be disappointed.

Not quite the question, but I have a V-Spec (9.5 deg) and a R11s (9 deg) same shaft. I don't think there is much of a performance (straight out distance) difference between the two. Don't get me wrong the TM feels awful and sounds even worse (I'm ok with the colour of the head) and I fully appreciate the technology in the Ryoma and that it weighs exactly 198g and is the 9.5 deg it says it is. Interesting to note what Tario said on a previous post about the length of the neck impacting the shaft cpm given the adaptors on the TMs (they tip the shafts 0.5" before installing). Not sure if the smoother shaft feel is due to this or the great feeling head!!!!! IMHO if you are going USDM then the Titty 913 is worth looking at.

Really interesting about the impact of a long neck. How much difference is 10cpm in terms of shaft flex (half a flex)?
  16. Thanks both I certainly don't feel that the shaft is too stiff. Do you have any insight into what the shaft profile is? If I replaced it with a kaili 70/80 s what should I expect to see?
  17. All, I'm looking for some information on the M46 stock shaft that some with the Egg HD. My swing speed is ~90-95 mph, so in theory this should be a bit loose. However, the shaft does feel a bit loose. How would you compare the M46 with other common shafts? I play the Fubuki Alpha 70s in my driver and have a RIP Phenom 80S in my USDM 3 wood (R11s). Any help much appreciated.
  18. Hi, I've got a fubuki 70 alpha in my driver and was looking at an equivalent shaft in my 3w. The website suggests that the ax shaft is a good transition from the alpha, but I am a bit confused as to what the differences are between the ax and alpha? If the AX is a transition why wouldn't you just get the alpha? Thanks

Prefer head only, will consider whole club depending on shaft. Shipped to UK. Let me know what you have.
  20. Thanks does anyone know what the outside measurement of the hosel and if a counter sunk ferrule is recommended?
  21. Title says it all, does anybody know the required ferrule size for a Ryoma D1 driver? Thanks in advance
  22. sjdavies47 replied to nobmontana's post in a topic in Buy, Sell, & Trade
If only the Ryoma was s not x. Would you consider head only?
  23. How would you say this launches compared to a standard 10.5 head? I've read that all the Ryomas launch alot lower?
  24. Ha ha, think we may need to get 'strong' reclassified in the Oxford Dictionary.
  25. Man, you must have some game to get this combo to work., especially down those tight NSW fairways. I'd love to see a youtube video of your swing. GLWTS
