Shimada K'S-Wedge HW120 Shaft Feedback
I'm having some issues with the WV125 that I shafted in my new SDJ wedges... Although it feels solid on full shots, I find it hard to dial in the distances on pitch shots. Didn't have this issue with the SP blues that I soft-stepped. Maybe the transition from 1150s in my irons to 130g in WV 125 is too much.. Does anyone have any experience with these Shimada wedge shafts? http://www.tourspecgolf.com/Shimada-K39sWedge-HW120-Shaft

New putter purchase...
i've had the KM350 for two years. Great putter and worked really well with the NS pro putter shaft which a bit heavier but much better than the true temper shaft. My only issue with the KM350 was the amout of offset as I can't game anything over 1/2 shaft of offset.

Soft feeling JDM Driver
Most of the high end JDM drivers feel so much better then any US drivers out there. Before I made the switch over to Yamaha drivers (thanks in large part to advise from Bogeydog) I've had Ping, Taylormade, Titleist, Adams offerings... The main problem with US heads is not really knowing where on the head I've hit the ball plus the tolerances being all over the map (loft, face angle)... Definitely worth the extra coin!

2012 Yamaha Tour Irons - Arrived
the ONLY complaint i have on these again is the breadth of the sole on the scoring irons. i had 3 differnt stlyes of irons out yesterday miuraisms, yamahs , af tours, and i still find it chunky especially in the PW to get the exactness in my mind that i have with the af tours and especially the miuraisms. the older models like the 2005 and to an extent the 2010 are slighter and a lot more blade like. (esp the 2005) but without question the newer designs are much much easier to hit , but still very pro like in appearance at address. its just the PW the irks me. its BIG. but on JPN grass in summer that is nooooooo probs at all. not sure if these will be first choice at longy this yr........... but ill guarantee you they will be come may in japan. ill doubt if ill even take another set out between may and october next yr. the new cavity shape is very differnt to the 2011 its much easier to launch much more workable , not as solid a club. its "slighter" as the hatter said to alice.. "uve lost ur muchness, u were much more , muchier last time." thast not a bad thing.. the 2011s are prob the msot solid thunping irons ive ever played. these ones look alot more water than rock. i like both i prefer 2012 . its just the pw............................................... I agree with the wide sole observation. When I hit these irons in Tokyo, I was struck by how soft these felt even with the S200 shafts... But at the same time kind of amazed by how wide the soles were for a "tour/blade" type iron. Since I play the Miura tournament blades they seemed even wider.

43.5 inch driver build
My current head is 198g, 44.5" DI-7 now swingweighting at D3. If I go to DI-8 but down in length to 43.5" any guess as to what it would come out to???

Recent trip to Seoul
Although it was cold, had a chance get a round in and visit a few golf shops in Seoul. -The golf specific down jackets are all the rage here. Very lightweight and cut anatomically to the body. i.e. the down layers either are stitched vertically or horizontally depending on body part and how it affects the swing. Would definitely gotten one if I didn't golf in LA.. -Visited Yamaha shop. If you leave your id, they will let you take out most of the clubs for up to 3 days to demo. -Crazy Korea. Like Yamaha they will send you a tester to try for up to 3 days.. I noticed that NY Choi of LPGA is testing Longest yard 02 Flex R with a GT-450 9.5* head.

43.5 inch driver build
All things being equal, (same headweight and same grip). If I go down a 1" in my driver length but move up 10 grams in the same shaft, say DI7 to DI8, would I end up with the same swingweight???

Recent trip to Tokyo
The new Titleist Forged wedges looked real nice and would have bought them if I hadn't gotten my SDJ DP wedges just a week earlier.. Picked up some Iomic Black Armour grips as theses aren't out in the US yet

Recent trip to Tokyo
The BB is definately lower launching than the DI. The launch monitor at Golf Messe seemed quite accurate not juiced up. I was getting similar numbers to my real world distance. Compared to the DI, I was getting around 20 yards less carry but made up by much more roll out so overall distance was same. It played "softer" to the flex.

43.5 inch driver build
Very interesting. I've been tempted to go to a 43.5" with a small head but didn't want to deal with hotmelt and effects of a heavier head on the shaft. going 85 grams shaft seems to be the answer.

Recent trip to Tokyo
Was in Tokyo for a few days and had a chance to check out the latest goodies at Golf Messe and Ebisu Golf on their launch monitor. Below are the standouts from my demo session: -'12 Yamaha Tour V202 w/ BB-6 and BB-7 shaft: Great feel but mid-low flight. -'12 Yamaha Tour Irons S200: So soft! Felt even softer then my Miuras.. Sole is more on the wider side for a blade... -Ryoma Vspec: Head feels soft at impact but it looks closed due to the big weighting on the back. -Crazy shafts: Tried a bunch of them and most felt quite stout to the flex. Didn't really get that "glassy" feeling that people were talking about and at least on the monitor didn't see any difference in distance of dispersion. -Quadra FEX proto: Actually felt livelier then the Crazy or as the salesmen likes to say, feels more "wet" than Crazy.. -Iomic Black Armour grip felt really nice. Was looking forward to seeing the Kamui 420 head in person but the two shops didn't have it as I guess it is more of a custom order product. Great to actually see and try the different toys in person and save some coin... My next purchase will either be a Yamaha Tour Driver BB-7 or Kamui 420 FEX proto....

Sky Dream Jump D-Tour Type Bite vs DP2010
So the 52* and 58* arrived last week. These are my impressions after two rounds: -Compact head. Frames the ball nicely. -Feel is very soft. More on the mushy side then being clicky. -Spin is a ton... shreds the cover off Penta's -Nippon WV 125 shaft is nice and firm on full shots but retains feel on partial shots as well. -The grind is very versatile off tight lies but enough bounce off of fluffy lies and bunker. Two thumbs up!

Crazy 80 LS Noir vs Quadra FE Proto
Hey guys, -I'm currently playing the DI-7 in stiff in my driver. Love the mid-high launch low spin characteristics of this shaft but like any club ho, very intrigued by the 80t tech and don't want to miss out. -Can anyone chime in and give me some views on the Crazy 80 LS Noir 7.4 vs Quadra FE proto stiff? Cheers!

Sky Dream Jump D-Tour Type Bite vs DP2010
Hi all, I was about to order a set the Sky Dream Jump wedges and on the fence between the D-Tour Type Bite vs DP2010. The DP2010 is made from a much more durable head but am I correct in assuming that the head shape and the grind between the two heads is the same? All things being equal would the D-Tour Type Bite still feel a little softer vs the DP2010? I presume the spin would be similar... Thanks for any insights in making a decision!

Titleist forged wedges

2010 Yamaha Inpres X V201 Driver
-So the driver finally arrived yesterday and got in a round at Sherwood CC -I'm coming off of Ping i15 with Fubuki 73s -Feel: Most solid driver I've hit. No hollow feeling. -Control: I opted for the DI-7 and the weight helps steady the swing -Visual looks: Although both heads are 460cc, the Yamaha head looks more compact Overall very satisfied with purchase.

2010 Yamaha Inpres X V201 Driver
Thanks, Jack. In the actual city of Los Angeles itself Rancho Park is a nice track but rounds are known the last close to 6 hours. Shoot me a PM next time your here and I'll take you to my club and we can compare notes on JDM clubs :)

2010 Yamaha Inpres X V201 Driver
-I currently game a i15 with a Fubuki 73. While it is a great driver in its own right, I felt it just doesn't have the feel that is my most important criteria. -All the rest of my sticks are JDM with a empasis on feel so I decided to get a JDM driver as well. -After consulting with Gocchin and with input from Bogeydog and Pabsquid, I faxed in a custom order for a 2010 Yamaha Inpres X V201 driver with a GD DI-7 shaft. -I was originally leaning towards the V201 Tour head which looks cool and workable but figured could use the extra forgiveness of the bigger V201 head. -I am informed that it will take 2 weeks so I will post reviews and pics once I get it here in LA. Cheers

New Diamana kai'li shaft from Mitsubishi Rayon
Hi Gocchin: I currently play the Fubuki 73 in stiff. Could you let me know what differences there would be with the Kaili 70 stiff. From what I can find the the weight and torque seem very similar. Thanks,

Kamui Works 456 Silver Driver – One Month Update
Hi Gocchin- Thanks for your update. Very helpful. -Could you tell me, all things being equal what the difference in distance between a conforming and non-conforming head is? i.e (Same swing speed, launch angle, etc...) Just curious what the theortical difference in distance would be. Are we talking 2-3 yards or more? -Also if I order in the metallic black finish does that mean that the only head including the face and sole is black? Thanks in advance for your answers!! Take care and keep it in the fairway.
