  1. Had a lesson on bunker play yesterday my coach is quite the short game guru and his take on bunker play was different to anything iv ever seen..........closed stance instead of open with the ball position out in front of the left foot, i was amazed how well this worked he had me hiting flop shots with a 56* to pins with no more than 2-3 m of green to play with.....the ball was landing like a butterfly with sore feet!!!..................it got me thinking about weather i need to be playing a 60*? and weather id be better off playing 2 x 56* wedges.........one with high bounce specific for bunker play and a low bounce for chip/pitch shots off the firm fairways i play on here in Australia. I d like to hear if anyone had tried this B4? and whats available in JDM wedges with low bounce, most iv seen are around 12* and up
  2. I had a GPS previous to the Bushnell and it was such a pain in the arse, having to remember to charge B4 the round and download the right course. All you need with the bushnell is a standard battery point and shoot!!! with the exact distance to the pin not just the front and back distance that the GPS gives, the only advantage GPS has is on doglegs where you cant see the green
  3. Stew, once you play with that rangefinder youl wonder how the f**k you ever played without one!!!
  4. Epon 302s but with Nippon Super Peening Orange to kick it out higher than the dynamic golds + way better feel in the nippons
  5. the only one i can think of is taylormade japan and honma do one as well
  6. So you riped the stinger out of the 102, how does the FE Proto compare in that head

Seeing as you like it in your driver than its going to be easier to match up the flex in the fairway.........good choice, i think stew has much the same setup. Allways wanted to try the FE FW, the driver shaft dispertion is so tight i could imagine it would be ideal in a 3 wood.

dont discount the crazys i got the 80FW in the epon ht and its one of the best, but it is only mid 70g, there is a new one thats 80 + grams think its called the sigma? FE would be awesome to, forget about the ozik......crazy and Quadra are far superior. Supo swears by the yamaha fw so it has to be good based on the fact hes just about hit everything:tsg_smiley_drool:
  9. Hey T how do the FE Proto and Crazy TJ 80 compare against each other? also in relation to the standard FE?
  10. apart from this yonex 390 coming out and the miura 390 what other JDM drivers are there that are 400cc and less?
  11. when i first got mine i had one pracky sesh and put it straight into play in a big tornament.......well the first 7 holes i had the major tiger woods blocks hapening, until i finaly relized that i could really fire the hands through coz this thing was never going to go left and after that i hardly missed a fairway for the 3 rounds. its definatly a anti left shaft
  12. the quadras launch pretty low and low spin supo said the proto launches higher tho, but im suprised the DI is falling out the sky i would look at the flex, iv hit the DI6 and DI7 and found the 6 to be a lot softer. maybe move up a flex in the DI6 or the quadra in a s/x, the quadra is a far better shaft IMO
  13. I havent hit the IP but i remember the epon distributor in aus saying it was lower spin than the standard, not sure if hes right tho
  14. you could be better off selling both and ordering a new with one custom head weight, loft, lie, face angle and shaft from the epon distributor in aus www.clubmaxxgolf.com.au thats what i would do get it done right the first time spend the coin on the quadra fire express and you wont regret it
  15. Pete i agree 100% with whats been said, im sure the stock 102 10.5* has 0.5* closed club face unless its custom ordered, and i dont know about you but i hate any club that sets up closed it would probably launch higher if closed to
  16. Yeah iv allways found wedge shafts to tend to jump a touch left on the fuller shots thats why i prefer to stick the same X flex thats it the entire set in the wedges but the draw back is on the little feel shots around the greens thats why i think this could work well, the only time i would hit full shot with the 58 is on those down wind shots
  17. Well i took the Miura/WV wedge combo out on the range and for a round the following day i have the 105 put in and i found them to be to light in comparison to the Epon/ SP Blues i really strugled to feel the club on the 3/4 to full shots around the greens they performed very well less harsh than the SP blues they seem to have a bit more feel but i much prefer the SP Blues on the full shots. I was geting some nice spin with the miura/WV combo but i fully expect that as they feel a bit softer in comparison, i was expecting the club fitter to put the 125 so i was pretty disapointed i will probably send them back and get him to change for the 125 . I thinking the way to go would be to play the WV 125 in the 58 as i use it around the greens mostly and it definatly has a softer feel and SP Blue in the 53 for those 70 to 100m shots. The grind on the Miura WMF-03s was interesting it made it a lot easier to pick the ball off the tight hard fairways i play on in australia compared to the Epon 208s the miuras def sit a lot tighter to the turf which gives you plenty of confidence that you wont bounce the club into the ball of the tight lies like the Epons tend to do
  18. Miura wedges arrived with the nippon WV shaft i will give em a whirl tomorrow and a game on Wednesday and let you know what i think, going to be hard to out do the SP Blues in the Epons i have them dialed in at the moment.
  19. Ok looking forward to hearing how it goes, that should be a killer set up it. Wedges arrived Friday they look very nice i droped them in to adjust the lie angles and i will give em a test run tommorow then its off to Kennedy bay links on Australia day see how they perform on the concrete links fairways, dont forget to PM me your payment details again.

Fire Express Prototype has been out for a while now and i havent heard any feedback, is anyone gaming it and how does it compare to the original Fire Express?
  21. flip a coin on either the Quadra or P9003X cant go wrong either way, the P9003X looks the coolest i think the SX would be fine in the Quadra, 75X is perfect for me @115mph
  22. The other shaft to consider as a cheapie is the Mamiya AxivX i demod it in the 101 head and it was very good nice feel mid launch and even though the demo was a 62g Stiff flex and i use 70 to 80 gram X it held up really well, if you do a search you will find it was hugely popular shaft in its time
  23. Pete, i had a AF 101 with the P9003 it was a awesome set up but after i got another 101 with the Quadra Fire Express i couldnt get the P9003 back in the bag the Fire Express was just to good, i have a 102 Diamana Stinger like Stuie has and still the 101/ Fire Express is my most reliable long and gun barrel straight + amazing feel/sound when combined with the 101. The 102/ Diamana Stinger is def the longest that thing is silly long at times just not quite as tight as the Quadra but very close. The P9003 is definatly the best value at just over $300 launches a touch higher than the quadra and i found it a little easier to turn over than the crazys/quadra shafts
  24. Spoon do you know how these new Modus shafts compare to the SP Blues?
