  1. love the grind on that wedge
  2. Send the bill to the clubmaker!!
  3. I had the P9003 in a Epon 101, truly great shaft one of my biggest regrets was selling it........at the time i had that and my current 101 FEx the FEx won out obvoiusly but i still rate the P9003 highly, launch is higher than FEx low spin and easier to turn over. a lot better than the DI series IMO......i think it would work well in the smaller head

$24 is very good usually around $40 a shaft, there is a distributor in Australia if you go to the nippon website you should be able to find him
  5. Its hard to compare as i have them in completely dif heads the 101 i ordered heavy and 0.5 open, jbeam is lighter with square face, but with the original i always feel i have to swing within myself to get the best results, if i try to step on one i always risk blocking it right but with the proto i can pin the ears back whithout the worry of the block......... i think the proto is a touch firmer and feels like it kicks a bit more than the original, both have that super smooth feel that separates the quadra from the rest
  6. The FEx Proto would be my favourite right now, same smooth feel as the previous but for some reason not as anti left which i like...........but that could be due to the jbeam head vs the 101, but it does seem just a little easier to turn over and you can throw the kitchen sink at it and it holds up nicely, dispertion is a lot better IMO than the original
  7. Stew what length did you play it at?
  8. I think thats a great idea andrew.........something i have thought of doing to, the only problem is it will feel like a toothpick for a big bloke like yourself, you would need to get some weight in the head

I would think most of the better players prefer the miuras because of the grind and traditional shape, and probably couldnt care less about how, where or who forges them, i hit tsg member Dans 1957s on the weekend and i thought they felt every bit as good as the AF tours

Yeah i have had the same issues with the battry door just recently, but i havent played any comps since the problem......will have to keep a eye on it maybe send it back if it keeps coming unstuck

I couldnt play without one now, speeds up play to........no trying to find yardages on sprinklers and then paceing out to the ball, just point and shoot
  12. Whos to say Tigers Whiteboard isnt made of 80T? these companys make stock shafts for OEMs it wouldnt be hard for them to make a shaft on request for any player, just like some OEMs have had irons forged in japan for their top players..........doesnt rickie fowler have a Diamana with special paint scheme? i wouldnt be suprised to find a 80T shaft on tour disguised as something else
  13. like the sound of the onset.....would that make it easier to open the face up?
  14. Better off bending them yourself that way you can test them out and get it right, i think you will find most JDM irons are 1* flater as standard i bent mine 3* up and i normaly play 2*, i also changed to loft 1* stronger closer to the loft they play on tour now. Yes you can order upright lie angles from OEMs but id still be checking them along with loft, as we know attention to detail is not their strong suit. Im pretty sure you can order Epon at any spec?
  15. Snuck out for a hit today while the kids were sleeping, my mate was there with the R11 only this time it was into the wind...................Jbeam smoked it into the wind wasnt a fair fight, i will stick with the jbeam and 102 all day, would love to try the ryoma stew.......ahh if only i could entice you over to Perth for a few days;)
  16. Mjr D, did you order any particular grind with the golds?
  17. Epon spins heaps and i have to agree on the Vokey they are huge in the spin department especially the old grooves, the vokeys are my no1 choice at the moment 58* low bounce 8* and m grind seems to work really well on the couch grass, but come winter i might need a bit more bounce
  18. I thought the same thing, but the kali is a very good shaft so would there be much difference? lots to like about the adjustability of the R11 but the JDM head /shafts are miles in front for feel/sound and overall enjoyment on a well struck shot...........theres nothing like it feels almost like a solid block of steel over the tinny hollow feel of the TM
  19. Yeah the white head thing it was a TM upgrade so it didnt have the normal diamana graphics, i have had a kali B4 in a FT9 Tour authentic and i loved it really smooth shaft, if i can get hold of this RC 304P 3 wood that i want it could be the perfect shaft to try. I still think the R11 would'nt have got past the Jbeam they were carrying the same but the jbeam has a wicked kick forward like nothing iv ever hit B4 the spin must be so low probably why is harder to get in the air
  20. Well i managed to finish work a little early today so i thought it a good time to find out whats worth keeping and what needs to find a new home, plus my mate has just started his slow move to the JDM dark side and pulled the triger on a set of NS Modus shafts. Clubs were Jbeam 425 10* Quadra FE Proto 75X Epon 101 9.5* Quadra FE 75X Epon 102 9.5* Crazy TJ 80 8.2 Taylormade R11 TP Diamana Kaili S Epon AF Tours Super Peening Blue X Taylormade TP B serial irons Modus 3 X starting with the irons the new Modus shaft really impresed me its definatly a flex softer than the SP Blues but i still found i was able to hit some decent shots no balloning to my suprise the ball flight was a touch lower than the SP Blues which could be to do with the taylormade head im not sure, feel was as good as the SP Blues dispertion wasnt the tightest with the modus but i put that down to the Flex being a little soft for me, the taylormade heads were a major notch bellow the Epons, really dead feel the only good thing i liked was the narrow sole very close to the miura soles.........my mate loved the modus and was glad he steped up to the X Flex as he felt it played the same as his previous S Flex KBS........for me though i liked the modus but not as much as the SP Blues but in a decent head it could be a different story Ok.......drivers, i recently purchaced the Jbeam, loved it but the ball flight is bordering on underground at times, so i have contemplated selling it and getting a higher loft. I started out with the 101.....its one of my all time favourites 0.5 open and 203g head from memory, mid to high launch i love the look of this head the most out of the lot it really hides the 460cc well buttery feel combined with the Quadra FE this is a major anti left stick almost imposible to turn over i think it spins more than the 102 and jbeam, super accurate and plenty long enough to I hit the Jbeam next more off a blocky shape head sits pure as per usual started out............ lowballarama it was do or die for this club, but after hitting a lot of balls all of a sudden it started to click i finaly started to launch this thing.............. Oh my god mid launching bombs come to mind plenty of carry and zero spin it hits the ground running like a scalded cat!! i tried to hit it a hard as i could and it keept geting better and better, the FE Proto can really stand up to some punishment its stiffer than the original and i was hiting baby draws for the most part not as anti left as the 101/quadra FE setup Next the 102 Crazy has been my gamer in most recent times, another great looking head by epon and the Crazys are my favourite love the glassy feel i think they feel the best feel wise the TJ 80 is pretty stout but i can still feel the kick through the ball, launch is mid and straight to draw hit some PB long ones with this baby over the last month i cant falt it at all Last was my mates R11 snowman.........the odd man out you say!! half the cost of the others i only hit it for a laugh, to my complete horror i watched the first one sail to the back of the range dead straight then another and another this was by far the easiest club to hit high low spining bombs i was almost in tears.........my mate was rolling on the floor laughing his head off!! how could this possibly go straighter and as long if not longer than my JDM beautys, and to top it off the s flex kali was way to soft but it flat out performed. No 1 for me hands down was the Jbeam easily the longest and very straight along with................wait for it the R11 Snowman it blew me away with how easy it was to hit, boy its ugly tho. However its night and day between the TM Irons and the AF Tours i cant think why TM would make a cast players iron, big big difference for me. Loved the modus3 to iv heard reports that they ballon a bit but i found them pretty solid even with the softer flex but i couldnt go past the SP Blues my all time fav

Stew get on a lie board and test em, its probably more than likely a swing issue if its only happening with the wedges. Its easy to come over the top with the shorter clubs and its not as easy to hold off on the shot with a wedge as it might be with a over the top swing with the driver.........but check the lie for certain
  22. thats not a bad idea send the epon for PZ milling..........Hmm plenty to think about
  23. Probably in the face i like a putter on the heavy side but not as heavy as the Epon say 360 g at 34inch
