The Lineage of SEVEN GOLF
this is what is possible with the Marus, they are an absolutely magnificent finish . but.. copper is NOT to be played from the sand. take another one for that! bottom pics are not marus they are xwedge, but one session in the bunker and check the sole.... makes no odds to the play but the look..!! hit from grass only

JPN muscle back, bladed irons thread..
TOURSTAGE mr23 These might just be my fave set of pure ,straight up Mb of them all. There are more revered, more precious ., more sohpisticated options out there but for THE most simple , complete players MB , they are at the top of my pile. Due in no sml part to the shape of the 8/pw , that shape puts them right at the top with the honma tw but ill get to those later. I first found them not long after they came out early 2000s and have a had a set ( or 2) in play most of that time. my latest set(s) will prob last me till i stop playing one is a stock chrome ENDO forged / DGs200 set 3/pw in fabulous nick, ive been toying with putting a set of NS super peening orange in these for years, but havnt done it bec i jsut cant fault the way they perform with the DGs200s. if anything im tlepted ot find a set in good nick ot do that, but can not find any suitable. these DG ones are my travelling set, ESP to the sand belt im Melb and south there of . they suit those cond as good as any club ive ever palyed. i take these and a set of prgr tr500s down there, i dont even bother with anything else. The other set were Mr Mruayamas 2004 US masters set in copper. they only get used on special course days to preserve them as much as i can. i swapped out the N226v X by Ns for a set of shimada 3001s constant weight and Masda slicks. ...........THAT was a good swap. these play for me JUST perfeclty , a little lower, a little flatter. but can make them do what they were made to do. fizz about with the course. def Not long , just precise , the pw is 47* A Good thing is , they are NOT the same as the retial veriosn, slightly more compact. with a bit less off set and a thinner top line wi much shorter hosel and thicker muscle. not much.. but, u can see it. they are both bsolute scimitars and about as presice as a club can get i know not how and ive discussed this with Chris yrs ago, even tho they were ENDO forged, both tourstage and yanaha DONT have that soft pillowy fluffy cusshy EPON /ENDO/ONOFF feel to them , they are noticeably denser , thicker, deeper at imapact u know where u ahve hit the ball all the time. is it better or or worse.......... thast for the observer to decide ,for me, i think it suits this head perfectly.

JPN muscle back, bladed irons thread..
Always wanted to do a MB thread here as i play so many of them and i wont have to read over and over... " miura baby blades( what ever thefk they are ) are the best!!!! Mbs to me are: much harder to hit well consistantly ..., WAY more punishing on non centered miss hits.., way easier to hosel rocket and shaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahnkooooooooo! into the woods..., Much more mentally intimidationg to look down at past the 6 irons .., AND............ they blow the bloody doors off EVERY other style of iron when u sweet one . i become a engineer, painter , sculpter, swordsmith for that fleeting moment when i hit one perfeclty to my pre shot minds eye view. obv. with other sticks thats perfectly do-abale but not near the same extent as with an MB. they def require more concentration diligence and confidence to game them each week in comps andi i do have a mental arguement that i do use my more muscled caviities at times in monthly comps ( PRGR tr 500 / IDBL im looking at you) but they dont give me that adrenaline surge as with a set of HONMA , tousrstage, mbs . THATS the why . SO ill get into a few sets ive gamed over the aslt 30+ yrs ( if can rememeber tthem all } and ill pop up pics and hopefully other like minded bladers will join in .........................,

MY fairway woods ....
KAMUI 14.5*- CRAZY FW 80 flex 7.7sx wow.... strong loft 3w. sleek shape.. target milling on face.. sheeeeeesh.. this is something good to hit off the deck.. FLIGHT IS lower but not low low. no danger of worm burning. Loved its flight. , distance is perfect gets right there and its very hard to miss with. VERY shapeable. , can move this with ease both ways doestn get hung in the wind. .felt in complete control with it in hand wasnt " ideal" from the rough both shape and loft wise, SYB were miles better but off short stuff it was fkkn awsome. i wont play in compey conds with long rough but on cut grass . i think these will be in the bag a most of the time (with the 17.5*)

MY fairway woods ....
Re shafting a cpl of MODARTS.. 14* , 16* i had a a diamana X 7 in the 16* but it was tipped a bit too much to be a good match for this head , the modart heads have AN extremely dense FULL feel to them and needs a livelier feeling shaft to bring it to its real life. its like hitting a benock putter the fleeing cant quite be rebuilt in another head, its def a one off feel. they dont launch high either for a low rider sleek head, its very much a fairway wood / non tee option and for slicker grass fairways. the 14.5* had a crazy black 80 but that was all but impossible to get off the ground unless i flushed it 100% of my ability. after hitting some diamana ILIMA red bords , yesterday it was CLEAR, this wud be a great match for both these heads with its higher , lighter, airier launch characteristics. ive got a ton of fairway woods, but nothing i have has quite the fell of MODART. they are not as playavble as others due to the sleeknes of them esp in the wet or the rough. but on true fast short grass. nothing i have is as satifying to hit...............albeit it needs the right engine.

KAMUI KP-X 9.5* matrix Hd6sx. 44 inch 312 g. red rover. built almost for looks alone. bud had a cpl of unsed marix shafts i bought and re shafted a cpl of older awsome heads with. tp6 got the srixon zr30. this one got the kp-x . u know... the older heads are just so much nicer fhan the new..... shafts. speechless.. cant wait to give this a wallop tomorrow. tomrrow is here. very ligh swing weight. very short distance. Very very straight low flight. This is a short par 4 specailsit. can move it about with ease but only a few feet. it likes low straight. Suitable for my home course on about 6holes. so def worth keeping. noted vs the same. build. with diamana stimger which is much more meaty full dense , longer distance. .. think ill swap the weights out in this to make head at 200+ shaft is excellent. looks, superb!

EPON- af-tour - CB- 5-pw
BNTM from EPON. Simply not using these, if i go EPON i go my muscle back af tours. shimada 3001 stiff constant weight shafts, keep the ball from ballooning for a lighter weight shaft. gripmaster leather grips in mint cond. cond is excellent. I will mention my build idea ........ BY EPON........ i chose the shimada bec i wanted a daily driver to keep the ball on a flat arc with a mid high peek that rolls over not sets , spins and drops like modus 130s do . they give me about 1/2 club longer distance . + they do NOT get affected by wind and are ARROW straight flight. not very laterally manouverable. staright daily drivers, that what these are. shipped, tracked, insured by EMS japan post ONLY > from JAPAN shipping incl . $1250

TOURSTAGE P51 .. 9.5* DIAMANA ALI ISLEI 63x 44.75 x 314g d1 stuck a tip weight in it to get the sw higher than c9. played it yesterday at longy . GOOD. its stying here , not as tight as the stinger version BUT better feel . a bit more lively in the fingers. wonderfull sound. the aliselei in all heads had a dsitinct feel/sound. very enjoyable to play . sites among the top of my driver list. very playable ,slightly workable thru the air if required , more to so than the boron ver. excellent driver.

Stuck a shimada steel fw shaft in both a toursatge / RC 7w for a bit of weight. SUPERB!!!!!!!!! no ballooning , really smooth transition. ,can feel the club at all times. mid high fligh lands super soft. can move it just a wee bit. NOTHING not too like about this as a set up. plays A as good as anyone cud want, versatility of the 7w can not be understated. that club is getting a ton of aitime nowadays

Is boron shaft out of date now?
god no... how many years on is rhis and.. ImStill playing the diamana stinger in the same heads from yamaha syard callway tour, tourstage, kamui pro. i rhink i have 11 drivers now with the stinger. i love the way it performs . it looses nothing to anything newer ive tried. Looks better. feels unreal. doesnt warp bemd or stray. i honestly dont know if i can play another shaft . 2009>2025 nope , this one still wins for me.

RYOMA d1 10.5* - diamana ali islei 63s 44.5 x 310g tipped this an inch and BOY did that make a change to its character!!! usually a pretty friendly soft shaft for anyone under 105mph the tip work livened this up considerably. Played it a typhoon style rain with a nice gripmaster leather on it as a mini driver of sorts and it was SUPERB, so much so i left the big dog same head with a TOUR AD PT6x in the bag for most of the round and will rethink that build , bec htis one, blew it to smithereeeeeeeeeeens. Its job is to be a part of my shorter , lower launch , punchy fariway finders i can use on links. i dont really look for more distance over acccuracy these days. iprefer a club i can hit a fariways with at a decent enough distacne that wont get lost OB, most courses i play , the penatly off tee is considerable vs the errors eslewhere so gaining 15-20yards is moot ill take what i have over looking for Dechambeau esque blasts ,hence the shorter length, stiffer builds. didnt take long to get this wired, i was pulling it the first few drives then i realied i cud relax with it a bit aim a bit more right and got some faboulous mini draws more than a dedcent way out there with it. head shape lends itself to be aimed /hit dead straight. never really been a driver to ge terribly funky with its a point shoot. this build suits it superbly. adjust ball flight thru tee height. higher tee , draw higher , lower tee piercinfg fades. mid tee and its lower straight. 10.5* gives me a lot more confidece that the 9.5 does. its not a high ball hitter at the best of times. My links course at home has its name ALL over it., will be tough not to take this out, every round and when its windy , im not sure if il even look at another after the way it payed. best iteration of this head ive built.

PRGR DATA 801
yea i rem that being the case with some /one of thier irons , but i cant rem which ones to be specific. the ones i prefed more were the miura cb3001s which are strikingly simialr but with more wokability, well relatively. they are better, ive still got those u can see the similarites . ........................... i had prob my best ever ball striking round with those one chilly winters day , scooped the pool, playing nasau. kept me wine for months!

PRGR DATA 801
well. ive had these in play for 20+ yrs, definitley one of the easiest sets of clubs to hit a bal lwith ever. wont make it go in any direction. just " out that way " they have a sharper leading edge than most GI irons which i prefer. good feel, a little thin tho if your goal is to hit the ball then these will work well

KAMUI tp-07 black ip nitro 9* diamana Kaili 65s 44.75 x 320g tipped shaft 1.25 inch , long 3w shaft into a driver makes for a low rider if ever theres been one. Not quite sure why this is so low, but it is 202g head prob has something to do with that. kaili shaft doent like to soar either. combo makes for a very distinct play character, it wil not move laterally what so ever, ive put every sort of swing on it, wont budge, jsut low bullets where ever the head ends up at impact. the ball goes straight that way. i only play this when the wind is right up or the the ground is lightening fast with tight fairways. Had it in the bag at cathedral and it was 100% perfectly suited. no slouch distance wise not breaking any records but def not short. hit every fairway with it, perfect in oz for links play with the kamui pro kp-x. much snazzier looking hea as well, its one of the best looking heads ive seen. love this driver , its almost unplayable here bec it won t launch high enough to get decent distance but its long enough to be a second driver but i have hte kasco for that so its a specifi course only build. can see a lot use use for this on other Melb courses, specifially thinking moonah open , i think thats where it will excel!

MY fairway woods ....
CRAZY BLACK FW : F16 F19 F22 These are frustrating............ hit them well, peerless. miss them by just a bit... awful results. deosnt seem to matter what shaft i put in them , always the same. diamana stinger, crazy blck fw, crazy 80ls, good shots and KILLED, bad ones kill. they have very little forgiveness and are virtually only playable from thick lush wet grass, where the excel. set up, they are tiny comapct high chunky beasts, when u middle them they are ,my god...... they are bette than good and they are phenominal from the tee box. of all "fairway woods" these have the most punch from the tee by a MILE. that sasdly doesnt translate as easily to the grass where its a turney shoot, u have to be 100% on or the results are crap. theseare def workable, i mena look at the shape of them , they stand out alone, cant htink of any thing even remotly close in shape to these. very low launch, very powerful, heavy in hand heavy in feel. solid, thick dense stike. 16* is easily a back up for mini driver, driver alt. 16* launches more like a 13* very strong flight. 19* is the " fairway wood" in general, hitting the 16 is tough to love , misses are killed, the 19* is more like a 16* anwway fligh wise and distance wise i loose very little if at all. 22* is for longer par 3s , caps out foer me at 200 yards but can easily go further , thereres more in the tank i cant get from it but its there , and for a 7 wood is pretty impressive. thats more like my 5 woods in other brands. they have a role ,i do love to play them on wider fairways , wet days, mid summer humidity or thick grass.................................................................., just not in comps!

MY fairway woods ....
kamui kp xf 14.5/17.5* diamana kaili 60s 4w diamana ilima 60s 3w dat55g faces is obvioiusly something i prefer to hit i just love the sound at impact . mellow, sweet. flushed i coupled this set with the diamana 60 weight s for a change , the shaft is a more stout, stronger shaft in general in the kaili and lighter airier with the ilima , at 60g it gives me a bit of wiggle room and inreased swing speed without lossing the ball laterally to much , ive found there is a BIG difference from the 60weight to 70w in thiese model s , its noticeable! being a sleeker elongated smaller framed face that is quite toe up at address , the shape of the head lends it self to a higher launch but for some odd reason it doesnt seem to favour the left, not often i hook this too much. Built for shorter drier, lower cut grass conds , like in winter.....where the ball is not sititng on a layer of grass clouds like in summer humidity , these are perfect to play in oz. i dont like hitting higher framed heads like the RC set as much as these or the modarts esp. on slick turf , and , they wil not be from a tee, these are purely for fairway, means il have to bag the kasco with them. 4 wood set, ... yup these have a role +++++
