No it was left on but I presume he slid the new shaft in to it without pulling he ferrule or he wud have removed it in the beginning when I took the old shaft out. sorry I cant offer more bec I don't have his methods to call on . thought I had an old photo of it withjout the shaft but been deleted since.

id recommend getting someone that knows what hes doing to do it, I had this onoff type s redone fairly recently and he left the ferrule on and had the shaft pulled. worth the hassel , bec its a good head....the driver on the rightt obvuously

That makes conventional sense, there was an article on u tube by the long drive champ maybe a year or 2 back said he hits his biggest drives with a straight shot and 5-10 yard fade. he admits its against conventional wisdom , but I guess these fellas know every inch they get to and he says without doubt the fade goes longer. cant rem. his name but hes a monolith of a human 6"7. 5 million pounds of sheer muscle or something similar.

single shot: prob the astro tour / diamana stinger 70s combo, last year I hit the mother of all drives that il prob never replicate. for consistent length , prob the jbeam 435 /stinger 70x combo, I get that pretty nicely more often than not its got a wee kick in the head that gives it a bit of extra oomph.
