  1. I hit my ball very high naturally and just envy those people who can hit their drivers low!! :) I currently have a Miyazaki Kusala Black 61X in a 913D2 8.5 deg head and really like how low it launches. Miyazaki's newer offering in Japan is the Kena series, they have a Kena Black which is their low spin low launch offering. I also liked the Quadra Fire Express Prototype which was pretty low launch and low spin as well. As for the Ryoma Maxima, I was initially thinking about getting the new Crazy Black Tour series as they advertise them as lower launch, but I never seemed to get along with Crazy shafts in the past ( not sure why ) so I am getting mine built with Quadra's newer offering WBQ Max 65g in X flex... Thought about the Prototype, but after hearing jimmieboi's results with the Crazy Boron shaft, I was afraid that the Prototype combined with a type V 8.5deg head could result in too low spin + too low launch = Worm burner drop balls. We'll have to see how the type V 8.5* + WBQ Max works out.
  2. Based on their product description, it says Type G is precision machined on the back of the face to remove an extra 2g. I would assume thinner face means higher COR? But it looks like it is still within conforming ranges.
  3. Are you able to tell us what weight screw is standard with certain head weights? Would be useful information when specifying the weight kit with our orders. Otherwise, like you say, the weight kit would not be very useful.
  4. You are an excellent sales person!! :-) PM sent sir!!
  5. Thanks Tario. I am ready to order a custom shafted build ( I think :) )
  6. Yes, but I need the head only price. And, the JPY to USD exchange rate has changed significantly since the original Ryoma was sold ... So I am hoping that the new Maxima would be a bit more affordable for us here in the US ..?
  7. Any updates on the pricing?
  8. Very nice!! I'll be shafting these heads with 1050GH shafts in black ion. Can't wait to try them out!! I want to find out how they feel now with the Cu plating. If they are anything similar to the Epon 208 in copper, my objective has been met. Will report back in a few months with pics of patina !!
  9. Face has bead blast finish. over time I think patination will take over the glare. I am hoping.
  10. Just got my Gold's Factory wedges back from refinishing by BOS golf . Used to be raw finish but chose to do copper this time. Hoping to get a nice Patina finish over time!! Before and after pics below..
  11. jimmieboi, If you've ever tried the old Mizuno Craft 425 , the feel at impact is similar. It is that good !! For me, the VT511 is perfect in terms of feel and sound. After I painted mine to Black with a hint of metallic purple, the looks is perfect as well. Only thing I would ask is more forgiveness. I heard they are coming out with a 460cc version later this summer. ( I guess VT811 is going to be the name .. ? ) If they can keep the same feel and sound and add the forgiveness, we might have a very strong contender against the D1 Maxima.
  12. Wow!! 20 mph faster with range balls?!! I gotta get me one!
  13. Last season, I pretty much played all Yonex. EZone MB Irons, EZone 380 and 420 Drivers, EZone St 3 wood ... and these putters. For what its worth, I tried taming these clubs. At the end, they were too demanding and unforgiving. As for the putters, I can only speak for the S25C models. I had both the EZP-001 (anser) and the EZM-001 (mallet) Possibly the softest feeling non-insert putter I have ever tried. I do not recall the exact head weight but I believe it was close to 350g The milling on the face was very deep which enhanced the soft feel. I had a bit of trouble with distance control with these putters as the ball seem to come off the face hotter than expected. I have much better control with the JIS 303 or GSS putters that I currently use. Not sure if these putters were produce at Endo, but they sure were buttery soft.

You should wait for the D1 Maxima to come out.
  15. I know the hot driver of the forum is still the T.388 , but I thought I would provide some feedback on my Baldo VT511. So I've been playing this driver the last couple of weeks despite the inclement weather and I must say this head is reeeeeeeaaaaally good! Like I mentioned before, it has the feel of the original Mizuno MP Craft 425 and the forgiveness of ... uh okay the T.388 I do regret that I did not do a head to head comparo between the T.388. Trajectory wise, I have a 9 deg head with a Stinger 70 S and I think it goes just a tad higher than the 9.5 deg T.388 / BB7 S combo. I am getting very good distance from this driver as well. 280 to 300 yrds which is comparable to what I was getting with the T.388. As for the custom paint, unless there's glaring direct sunlight, I am only seeing a nice glossy black pair shaped head. I am really happy with this custom paint. Anyway, If the T.388 looks too intimidating because of its size, this Baldo VT511 may be an option to consider provided you are okay with the white paint or want to spend another $80 to $100 for a truly out of this world custom paint by H&H Industries!! I am a happy camper for now. ( until next week when my P-Tune arrives.... :) )
  16. Nexgen is a brand owned by Golf Partner. They have shops everywhere in Tokyo. Flying cat is a much smaller brand and might be more challenging to find. Heard good things about them. Speaking of long drive. Works Golf is another major player in the Long Drive comps. in Japan. Used to have a 5 deg "Ultimazer" head which I could not get up in the air. :-) and it was the loudest head I ever had , very similar to the Nike Sumo SQ head . Sold that puppy right away.
  17. NS Pro heavy putter shaft has a long 47" model. http://www.tourspecgolf.com/product_info.php?products_id=2043 I have the 149g standard length model in all my putters. Helps me keep the right tempo with my putting.

The flow of used gear in Japan is even more crazier than in the US. They are very reasonably priced and typically in great condition. Their gear do not get playing time as they do in many other countries. After all, golf in Japan is still a luxury in their minds. I get to go back there maybe once every two years and I just have to agree it is used gear heaven out there. I am really surprised that there aren't more vendors reaching out to overseas buyers. Perhaps with buy.com now becoming tourspecgolf.com in the US, it might open doors to vendors like "Golf Partner" and the likes. They really need to think about exporting more stuff since their trade deficit is now the highest in history!!
