NS Pro Regio Formula MB - Is this for real?
65 stiff should do it. I am 105 to 110 and ended up tipping the 65 s about 1" for getting a firmer feel at the tip and slightly lower trajectory. 55 stiff might work too if you like higher launch. It is a fine shaft for the price point but you shouldn't expect the same level of refinement as AAA 2015.

ZY-11 Preliminary Review
Yes.. but this is another bogus reason I can tell my wifey how I am investing in this great shaft and now I need a super duper head to go with it! I am just sick sick sick....

ZY-11 Preliminary Review
Yes, I am a foamy guy! ( being careful not to sparkle another discussion about "Tokyo foam" adventures!! :) ) I don't mind the muted almost dead sound.

ZY-11 Preliminary Review
7 Dreamers... adds 10 yards eh? Compared to the AAA that's about an additional $8 per yard which isn't all that bad!! :) Chris, Compared to foaming, does gelling or hot melting produce a different sound entirely? and what is the disadvantage of hot melting over foaming.

Roddio shaft
Many graphite irons are already tipped for specific clubs. If it says #2 it is most likely designed for use in a standard 2 iron. You may need to find out from the manufacturer on recommended tipping amount to figure out how it affects CPM and flight .

Need help finding a new driver!
Welcome to JDM craziness! This is like our favorite topic. Helping someone spend gobs of money on a new JDM driver! :) > Accuracy is first prio, then distance, forgivness. Not sue if "accuracy" qualifies for property of the club itself :) but your preference description matches so many of the current offerings in JDM. Price wise, honestly, you might be pretty limited at that price point getting a driver with a premium grade JDM shaft. The BST( buy sell trade ) board has tons of great ( near new condition ) drivers for sale at great prices if you don't mind second hand items. In this case, you also may end up needing to reshaft with the proper flex shaft since not a lot of members here use X flex. My recent choices were Modart MA01DS and Jbeam ZY-11 which I love so far. I also play an Epon AF-153 as my most forgiving driver for when I feel I need extra help on the forgiveness side. Going back to your original question. With 700 bucks, I myself might think about getting one of the Honma Tour World drivers as they look real nice and I believe some of the models are actually Endo forged ( Epon's parent company ) heads. They come shafted with high quality shafts as standard. Personally, I would choose the 455 or 455s because I want added forgiveness still with good looks at address. The 430 I believe is not an Endo head and it's probably not forgiving enough for me.

Anybody use mizuno putters?
which model? they made a bunch of different models and collaborated with cameron, betti, and tp mills in the past. Also produced tons of their own designs.

ZY-11 Preliminary Review
OK.... Back from my range session. I was also giving lessons to my 11 yr old on the side so I could not focus too much. A quick first impression. - Sound: Sound is muted and typical foamed head sound. but actually not too bad. I can get used to this. If I wanted the lively but well behaved sound, I have my Epon 153 or Modart to turn to, - Trajectory: I got a 9 deg head but the heaviest weight screw is in the back which means it is helping me with the launch angle. The nominal launch angle is perfect for me. Thanks to the deep face , I can go pretty low as well as pretty high with this head. just a guess , but my launch angle can be varied from about 10 deg to about 15 deg depending on tee height. - Distance: not a good day today for getting a good feel for distance as we had quite a bit of wind in the face. - Forgiveness: I did not see much side spin ( fades or draws ) with my shots. They were pretty straight no matter how I hit it. For sure this head is significantly forgiving than the original 435 or 425 models. Overall , this is the best JBeam head for me. I did not get along well with previous JBeam heads. As for the shaft combo. though the Regio Formula MB did really well. I intend to try a couple more shafts ( Waccine 77 and Skitter 550 ) to see what gives me the best matching. That's it for now. :) !!

Grips - which do you like?
Iomic discontinued their original Absolute putter grips. I love them and should have stocked up. The new Absolute X are much more coarse and does not give you that velvety stickiness.

ZY-11 Preliminary Review
Mjr. D, I received my ZY-11 head today and currently waiting for the glue to cure . Will be out to the range this evening. Bouncing a ball on the face, the sound was indeed very muted. ( this I guess was to be expected with a foamed head ) Now I won't know what it really sounds like until I actually hit a ball. I do know from previous experience with other JBeam/Crazy heads, the weight screws and how tightly it is screwed in has a lot to do with the sound at impact. The tighter the screws, the more high pitched metallic sound you will get ( at least with non foamed heads ) Based on this experience, I did a quick test to see if this sound property also applied to foamed heads. So I took an allen wrench and removed the screws ( I wanted to find out the weight orientation anyway. ) then started to re-tighten them again. From where the rubber o-ring just touches the surface of the screw hole, I turned each one about 1/4 turn. Still very loose at this point and will eventually fall off if I played it this way. Bounce test --- Very muted and almost no metallic "tink" sound I like this sound but may be too dead ... Next I tightened another full turn which gets to be more on the tighter side not tightened to the end of the thread but tight so that you could not loosen with your fingers anymore. Bounce test ---- Still muted but now with a slight metallic "tink" mixed to the sound. Oh I think this might work!! I did read somewhere that some builders in Japan actually leave the screws pretty loose but lock it using locktite glue to control the sound. So check out the screws on your head and try and see if different tightness would make the sound closer to your liking. Don't mean to hack this thread but here's my spec for my build. Head: JBeam ZY-11 ( black crown ) loft: 9* weight: 202g ( 6g back, 2g toe, 4g heel ) face angle: +/- 0 deg Shaft: NS Pro Regio Formula MB 65 Stiff tipped 1" shaft insertion depth: 1.25" Overall driver weight: 323g Overall driver length: 45.5" Have not measured swing weight ... but probably around D3 I am guessing.

ZY-11 Preliminary Review
no ... I chose the zy11 over the 435 black after the audio clip comparo. ordered mine with 9 deg loft and 202g . I have the Modart / AAA combo for the sound and feel so really looking for a bit more distance with the JBeam. As long as the sound is not loud, I am okay with it. Will be trying a few shafts that I have now to find a good match.

ZY-11 Preliminary Review
I have used the Egg 1 and it is a fabulous driver but it needs to be at least 45.75" to get decent swing weight. Head weight I believe is around 192g. Sound and feel are really nice. Lively but still well behaved sound. Straight face, launches high for a stated 7.5deg but not balloon high. Very very forgiving and straight Think Japanese version of Ping G30. Two things I did not like about it. 1) Too light ... 2) the red "egg" alignment logo is kinda annoying. otherwise it would have stayed in my bag.

ZY-11 Preliminary Review
I am waiting for a 9* ZY-11 too, which I am planning to pair up initially with the Regio Formula MB. The wooden bat feel was something I felt too with getting my P-Tune head foamed. I totally agree with this. It is definitely a preference thing and while I am not a big fan of the wooden bat sound ... believe me. it's 100 times better than using a head that is not foamed and extremely loud. ( Remember the Nike Sumo's ? )

Miyazaki shafts
I used to have a Kusala Black 61 in a ZR-30 head and loved that low launch bomber!! Got super hot numbers on the launch monitor. Head was not forgiving enough so I sold it. I have not tried the newer series but the Kusala series were really really good. I have to say they are designed and engineered very well. They do claim the shafts are manufactured in Miyazaki prefecture facility. http://www.dunlopsports.co.jp/products/sports/golfclub.html

Fairway Wood: EGG Spoon vs. Fourteen SF-612???
When brands become available to the US market, they become less "JDM" ..... i am guessing? I think they make fabulous products but they feel semi mainstream at this point to me.
