Post Your Ryoma Maxima Review Here!
I have the V spec, Premia and Maxima Type V. If you feel that the V spec doesn't roll as much, had a closed face angle at set up, not very forgiving and struggle against the wind.....then you will feel a tremendous difference in the Type V. If I were to choose just one driver, t388 or Type V, it would be the Type V. The avg distance gain and forgiveness is just unbeatable.

Yes. The t388 is scary long but only on center hit. Getting dead center hit on t388 isn't easy. The maxima is long even in off center hits. I carried the Maxima avg 280 yards but the t388 (when struck well) goes beyond 290 yards. The t388 also needs minor swing adjustment but the Maxima is only tee the ball and hit.

The ibrid looks so good. I think I'm gonna get them too. Didn't know this thing exist.

I think problem for you is with the shaft. I did gain quite a significant distance from Maxima. On avg the Maxima is the furthest and also most forgiving. BUT I also find that the t388 if on center hit is about 15 yards further than the maxima. The Maxima for me, I find it a forgiving, easy to hit with great distance and roll.

Really need your help - which shaft for the Maxima Type V?
It's soft but not too soft. Soft is good in this shaft as it helps in launching the ball. I'm not getting hooks with it too which is nice. Not anti-left, slightly draw to straight. Really love this shaft.

I believe it's a distortion too though....I don't have high frames per sec cam to confirm....I don't know which cam it came from. This one was from television. Seems like a distortion as the CMOS image sensor capture images from top to bottom.

These aren't pics from digital cam. It's a captured screen shot from video.

I still have the Crazy Boron in Type V but reshaft t388 to CB46. Here is the pic of Boron before impact. It bends and square back nicely. How it squares back at impact makes no timing required. It goes dead straight.

s-yard xv VS .388 test
The Ryoma Maxima is good...t388 also good. I think the Bangvoo is too heavy in the t388 though....I'll probably shaft t388 in tj46 I just receive today...a lighter shaft should be good.

Epon Dog head cover for driver questions
It should fit nicely. The head cover is huge though, but should fit.

s-yard xv VS .388 test
The t388 I have in Bangvoo 787 actually beats the Maxima type V on a center hits. Really like the feel on t388. Nothing can beat it. Great review!! I'll have my t388 reshaft in Diamana X too...sounds like a good match.

I can confirm 10000% that the face angle is square. The Ryoma seller in Japan from where I bought the club confirms me. And it really is square because I hardly miss left and mostly right. My ball flight is slightly draw.

New $1000 Aldila 125T shaft...
Not JDM so I just pass this one. Crazy in 125T... I'll get it

S Yard XV vs. Maxima V
Totally agree with both T's reply!! t388 is a super driver. Really love the feel. The metallic crushing sound when striking on the ball is good. Not that the Type V is bad....it's good but the t388 is better. Type V is more of a generic in feel. (IMHO). Type V shines in forgiveness and distance.

The Ichi is the only Nowon grip I have so cannot compare to the regular version. It's much better than the Iomic....I think it's more durable too.

I really love the Nowon grip especially the limited Ichi version...would like to replace them all in my irons but the price is a tad expensive (at least than the Iomix sticky I'm using right now.)

S Yard XV vs. Maxima V
I knew someone would say the length is the factor. Even if the t388 were to be in longer length, it still wouldn't produce the same distance as the Ryoma. Both produce as equal swing speed but the Ryoma has a greater ball speed. I have the Crazy 435ii in 80 LS nior in 46.75 length and still travel less distance than the Ryoma. The Maxima produce the farthest distance of all the JDM drivers I have (Epon Zero, 435ii, Vspec, Premia, Kamui Ray, Baldo VT511, t388). I built the t388 to be fairway seeker for playing in tight fairway course and Type V for long Drive that's why the t388 is in shorter length.

S Yard XV vs. Maxima V
Cannot help you with the XV but I have the t388 and Type V. Don't believe everything I say 'cuz it's my swing and my preference....the t388 should be quite similar to the XV so I guess I just chime in. Both are very very good driver. Roll a lot but they also feel different. The t388 has a better feel. More solid and the sensation at impact is better than the type V. Not that the Ryoma is bad...it's very good but the t388 is better. The t388 is less forgiving so I guess the XV should be more forgiving but still I don't think on par with the Type V. The new Ryoma Maxima is super forgving...it still launch and roll straight with minimal distance lost even with off center hits.I think the looks on the t388 and XV (I actually have demo this XV) is better than the type V if you are into classic pear shape. Even better than the Epon Zero. The paint job on the Ryoma looks more premium, nice glossy paint whereas the t388 and XV still leaves unpainted area on the sole. Distance wise, the Type V carry more and roll more BUT the t388 flies more consistently straighter. t388 launch lower (maybe due to low tee and has to hit like a 3 wood). I would say both are good....I cannot say which is better than the other...Both have pros and cons in fact more of a pros...and almost no cons (only has to be compare head on if stand alone review both have no cons at all). Get both if you can...if not you have to decide if you want a classic pear shape driver with a good feel and straight ball flight off the face OR less traditional shape but produce super forgiving and very very far distance both in carry and roll. ****The t388 has a very good stock shaft BUT the Ryoma does demand good shaft match to get most out of this head. My t388 is in Bangvoo 787 Tour X at 44.75 inch and Type V in Crazy Boron flex X at 46.5 inch.

Finally.....the Bold wedge
I just got the S-yard Bold wedge in 56 and 60 as head only and shaft them in Crazy Black wedge in X flex. The Crazy shaft used to have titleist Vokey forged in it. The Vokey Forged is a very good wedge. Good versatilities BUT it produce almost no back spin. The Bold is built in D2.5 swing weight (heaviest it could be without adding extra weight). Looks very very high tech and feel wonderful. Spin the most among conforming groove (on par with Seida Rupas), but less than the Yururi Gekku. It doesnt shred balls too which is wonderful. They need some practice as the tungsten weight makes the feel a little awkward but after you get used to it , it feels perfect. Very stable ball flight and spin too. Highly recommend this wedge!! I love it and will game it as long as it last.

I have hit the S-Yard t.388 side by side the Maxima type V. I can make a brief compare between the two. I would say the Type V is more forgiving, produce more distance, more roll....but the t.388 is more straight (when struck well), better feel, sounds at impact better, better looks at address. Both are very good driver. It's amazing that the t.388 needs to be teed low and hit either sweeping or downward blow to get the ball up in the air. If I were to only choose one....it would be the Ryoma. Not that the t.388 is bad....it's very very bullet piercing straight and good feel....but when it comes to driver, you would want the ultimate in distance and forgiveness (at least for me)....the Ryoma wins by a mile on those regards.

face progression... blades
Agree to the above reply. I had mine in mp69 Yoro craft in the minimal offset they can do. Results...almost no offset. I have the yururi and I can tell the Yoro craft mp69 is very straight when compare to yururi flat back.

Finally.....S-Yard t388.
Actually I used to keep "red bee" shrimp and they require 24c temp. Unfortunately they all went to heaven....too difficult to keep. Those are tamasaba fish from Japan which also require low temp so I keep the chiller there. Anyway, I really love the set up possition of the S-yard. Very classic!! I wish the face could be more compact, though.
