Anyone here play the Air Shepherd woods? The driver performs, I'm going to be giving the UT a trial this weekend mostly because I love it's face profile and setup.

Wedge Talk - shaft suggestions
TourSpecGolfer replied to techbase2000's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Not sure if it's considered a good wedge shaft but I've been playing C-Tapers with great results. In my Modarts I have the Modus3 130g and it's not bad either. -
I love Roddio I-10's and have tried them several times over the years, best results were with Miura blades but at the times I was healing a back injury. Now when I pick them up I can't really keep them accurate unless I swing smooth, at my normal tempo shots leak right consistently, slow it down and I get the perfect baby draw. That's fine and all but on windy days I can't help but to swing harder. I would suggest Roddio for the smoother tempo and transition player. Same thing with Crazy, I bought the expensive CBI limiteds and got the right leaks as well. Something about graphite keeps me coming back for more, the feel and how it changes the sensation of any iron over steel is interesting. For my score and accuracy it's C-Tapers at the moment.

Not many are talking about JDM Titleist. The 2014 model Driver 9.5 version, FW, UT, Irons, Wedges, Putter, and Ball. VG3'd depending on the player this can be a sensational rig. I've heard no complaints about any of their new JDM clubs.

Playing AF-302, need 2nd set of iron suggestions
TourSpecGolfer replied to Bunches's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Hi Bunches, What is your handicap? You are female correct? We have a few sets of the PRGR iD Nabla Forged "TOUR" at a special price to offer you, these are a little less forgiving than the 302 but setup better from all angles, it's S20C endo forged yet has a different more pure less soft feel than the 302's, more forgiving than the TourStage MC, a bit softer as well yet with less feedback. Fujimoto Gikoh Believer & Adject Irons may also fit the bill, in terms of feel and setup they are better than most, the drawback is the stamping. RMX tour model CB is another, it is a tad bigger than the 302's but more forgiving, feel is a a bit firmer than your Epons. Thanks for your questions, you really know your stuff, I'm not sure if we have many females in the forums, especially ones that play the best mens clubs. -
Lightest Shaft in the World! ...not the Air!
TourSpecGolfer replied to xerobound's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Lightest shaft "available" today. Fujikura has a mid 20's gram shaft in prototype since late 2013. -

+ Torched Orichulum Weights + Light Milling on entire face + Oval PZ Milled Insert The soft black finish looks darker in person than in these photos, matching the torched weights well. -

Just take is slow buddy, it takes time so I suggest reading up in the forum and blog. By the time your new job comes around and the bills are paid you should have a better grasp of the JDM scene. Use the search function, it helps.

Many of TSG's customers are not forum posters and purchase directly from the store. Honma, Yururi, Geotech, RomaRo. These brands sell better than some of the forums most beloved brands. Geotech Quelot is just all around bad ass, the RF800 is a bit firm at impact but just powerful and strong with better distance than most top brands. Geotech wedges are Made in Japan compact and ball shredding.

PRGR and RomaRo and Honma if we are talking complete brands from putter to driver including bags. I so want to choose ONOFF but can't get along with the drivers especially with the adapter. RomaRo has amazing everything, the new 2014 putters while expensive are top notch. I saw one in person, almost looks like Bettinardi manufactured them for RomaRo. Just a guess based on looks. RomaRo bags and grips are awesome. PRGR is an easy choice as well.

maaan, you get it

I personally never understood the need to have all clubs from 1 brand, I've always felt it limits you by leaving out so many of the best products. The only reason why pro's do it because they are locked into a contract, you are not so why? No single brand has it all, I admit I've tried the 1 brand 1 bag thing before when I first started playing and it doesn't last long because there are just so many good products coming out from so many brands that it's hard to not stray. I'd say mix it all up, don't be confined to a single maker. It's funny sometimes when I see a bag full of ice cream cones (as stew would say), these are usually the same guys dressed like Rickie Fowler.

Looks like it's got some good variety in weights and flexes, It's pretty expensive. almost 700 bucks retail. It's a full length 80T Japan made carbon shaft, for those of you who know Mamiya while the shafts are great they are made in bangladesh, this one is made in Japan. Only Mamiya's best is made in Japan. For my 95-103mph range I would try the 6SR first and long allowing for good feel and space to tip. These will also be in the shop early this week.

I took a deeper look into MUSO shafts yesterday and contacted Geotech about these. The entire selection will be in the proshop early this coming week. The stand out shafts are: MUSO XDB55 - 56-59g 4tq *MUSO XDB65 - 67-72g 3.7-3.8tq MUSO Fairway FW65 - 66-71g 4tq MUSO Fairway FW75 - 76-80g 4tq Kick point is mid on all of these and they suggest 46" as the optimal driver length and 44 or below for fairway woods. All four of these shafts are made using a 4 Axis carbon weave. Each is made using 50T high modulus carbon but the XDB65 has 90T worked into the design. To sum this all up the XDB65 and FW75 are for the stronger player the design is focused on stability and distance and gaining praise for it's ability to square the face up very well. Available in SR,S,X. The XDB55 and FW65 versions are for average players when you select the proper flex. Available in R,SR,S. Everything is made in Japan, Geotech is providing TSG with some valuable information and special options in the future. If you guys have any questions let me know. I haven't hit them yet but have a decent understanding of what they entail.

We carry everything Akira, it just hasn't been added to the store yet. We have an everlasting list of items that need to be added yet at the same time we also consider demand by our members. No one has asked for anything Akira in such a long time it's kinda been on the back burner. If you need a sent now you can email [email protected] for more info.

All 3 Fujimoto Gikoh irons Believer, Believer II, and Adject have very similar setup when you look down at it. Nice minimal offset and compact top line. Each performs well, actually very similar to each other, the differences in feel are minimal which makes it hard to choose. I think my favorite is the Adject but the Believer CB looks better in the cavity to me. Here are top line pics: Adject: Believer CB: Believer MB

It's all Cast! 100% These blades have been around for nearly 2 years. While I do like the shapes of many of the clubs they make, we have had customers that buy them thinking they are forged (they look like the forged type) and get upset it's cast. The castings feel and look good but the use of prototype bugs me ( these are not protos ) and they re use designs like no one else. If you like the look and shape of this MB go with the Honma TW717M, similar shape but forged.

I love Super Newing balls! TourStage/Bridgestone makes the best balls imo. Yes even better than Titleist. Some of you may remember Bridgestone Japan's lawsuit against Titleist on the ProV1 and ProV1x. They won. I play Newing balls with better results than I play the fancy X01 balls, I do really like the V10 balls too, I think a little more than the Newing. I'm surprised the Newing balls hold up to stews swing, I have a friend who is a scratch player who swings 103mph and launch monitor shows the newing actually increases spin more than most balls which is why people love them so much in Japan. Spin is good in some cases Stew you try the X01 and the X01Z? I have not yet but remember them requiring beast mode to gain advantage on them. We will get the new balls into the proshop soon. Don't forget Mizuno balls, big improvement over when they first started.

New Brand: Believer Golf Clubs Now Available @ TSG
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Thinking about driver welds, materials and thickness vs club head velocity, There are welds on areas we hit on a drivers face and all around the head. Anyway just another offering on TSG guys. The looks are it's biggest flaw I agree totally but I don't see the weld being an issue. -
New Brand: Believer Golf Clubs Now Available @ TSG
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
This is the first time I have seen this myself. Endo does something similar but its not vertical or over the impact zone like these. Many top irons use 4 welds with thinner walls using lighter weaker materials (multi piece design) should they not shatter if this was the case? Miura's would shatter at the neck weld, the neck is technically the weakest area in most irons, they also shouldn't feel as good as they do if it were an issue. The iron breaking in two is as probable as a Miura cracking or an Epon shattering, maybe less probable. As someone who hits a ton of JDM gear I can tell you that if you hit these irons and didn't know about the weld you would think it feels great, and is more forgiving than it appears. I'd love to stress test all these things but I trust the manufactures (FG, Miura, Endo) know how to make an iron that doesn't fall apart. That said these are not getting a spot in my bag based on looks alone but based on performance they easily could.
