Not a Gold standard experience for ME
TourSpecGolfer replied to wmclarenf1's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Your loss... Sasaya custom makes the best putters in the world. His latest wedge is no slouch, it stacks with the best of them. He doesn't even produce irons anymore. -
I don't know about the lottery but soon I'll be playing this rig: Driver: S-Yard T.388 w/ Stock Shaft Stiff Flex 3W: PRGR Egg HD w/ Crazy FW80 Irons: 3-PW 2013 ONOFF Forged w/ KBS Tours Wedges: Crazy Toyoshima's or New 2013 Gold's Factory Wedges Putter: Gold's Factory Custom Putter Still searching for the perfect club to fill the gap between 3W & 3 iron... any suggestions appreciated.

"Pay it Forward" Club Evaluation Network
TourSpecGolfer replied to MoreBeerBetterGolf's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
This only works if someone wants to track and organize it. Again we will put up many clubs and ship them to the person who runs the program provided they send them out and track it till they return. -
Guys the current price is a mistake in the proshop. Get it quickly before we change it. I was just told by GT that it needs to be at full MSRP here.

S-Yard T.388 - Designed by Kenji Kobayashi
TourSpecGolfer replied to nobmontana's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
I predict the new S-Yard T.388 will be a hit in 2013. A couple of customers are raving about them and a pro friend of ours in Japan is saying that a ton of non S-Yard staffers on the JPGA are asking their sponsors to switch over. I'm still awaiting mine. The first batch of 500 are gone and I believe they are now making the second batch. -
I just got hold of the new GT Forged Tour Issue w/ Concave Sole wedge from Geotech. It's pretty nice. It's better quality than some other more expensive brands it's got nice deep and sharp groves along with an attractive plated satin finish to it. I haven't hit it yet but they look really good up close and for under a hundred bucks you can't go wrong.

Japan Golf Fair 2013 - You guys coming?
TourSpecGolfer replied to gocchin's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
The weather is VERY cold... -
These came in today for a customer... I'm getting a set! For Sure! It's perfect now, They reduced the offset, made the head more compact and gave it a thinner top line. The sole is thinner as well and there is a subtle leading and trailing edge relief now. It's still got the tungsten weights. A few sets arrived straight from the Labo Dept in Japan. We have a couple of TSG'ers who will be very happy very soon!

Putters are not forged like irons or wedges are. So even if we knew you wouldn't recognize the name of the place. -
Went to Africa with wifey on the way back decided to stay 4 nights in Amsterdam. Great Place it was our 6th time visiting. Ok ok.. everyone thinks people only go to Amsterdam for 2 reasons, pot & prostitutes but thats not why we visit. We love the food, people, shopping, and culture there. I posted our Safari in the GTI blog, Amsterdam I'll post right here, we visited a variety of places some old favorites and others from Anthony Bourdains Layover episode. I also have images here from our recent visit to Napa. Below: Amsterdam's got some amazing wall art! Below: The brand new Hyatt Andaz has some trippy rooms...:o) Below the steak from Gebr. Hartering featured on the layover Huge Marrow Bone! Hyatt Andaz Breakfast: Any sushi lover will enjoy that the Dutch love fish for breakfast! Chicken Liver, Potatos, Bacon & Eggs Fish was off the hook! The French Laundry in Napa, second time there and both times only 4 out of the 10+ courses were awesome. It's less about flavor and more about execution here. I don't recommend. Thomas Keller does have a new spot that I would suggest going to called Ad Hoc, Every other monday is Fried Chicken night. Best I've ever had. It better be for 50 bucks a plate..lol Auberge Du Soleil: Our #1 favorite hotel & restaurant in all of Napa! If you go to Napa stay and eat here! It's tops and ask any local they will tell you the same! They just earned their one star but I liked it better than 3 stars. Bloody Mary Mix from Scratch... Potato Gnocchi, Wild Mushrooms, Pea Shoots, Parmesan Nage. This ranks in my top 3 dishes of all time. Wild Shrimp Risotto, Sunchokes, Endive, Hazelnut Emulsion. Veal and Maine Lobster Sandwich, Brioche, Prosciutto, Pickled Vegetables... OMG best sandwich ever! Ok hope this post makes you hungry!

That's the sad part I don't see the prices all that much lower. I think without Mr. Kobayashi Epon will suffer and S-Yard will be reborne with a a ton of Endo made athlete models.
-
Yea what a bummer, With Mr Kobayashi now at S-Yard I'm expecting them to pick up where Epon has left off.

Yup GS is still around. He just released a new set of irons. If it says made in Japan I would believe it and if it says SUS303 I would believe that as well. When you say who forges his product, It depends on which product. I'm not 100% sure. The irons and wedges somewhere in Himeji I would guess. -
Thats good to hear and congrats as 30 is no Joke. Even 15 is no Joke. I'm playing a Special Tune currently as well. I haven't found a driver that could take the Ryoma out of the bag.

Here's a few pics of my CR-III by RomaRo. It's a beauty. S20C feels nice and soft especially with this milling. I'm usually a center shaft guy but I'm gonna see how my stroke gets along with this one. I brought in a few RomaRo putters to try out. I've had my modified 2 ball in the bag for way too long. It works but I'm itching to play something different.

These are looking really solid. I'm excited for the wedges now especially after hearing how similar they are to the JDM vokey's. Tour Driver... I dont think I have the game for it. Tour Irons... I'm sure as hell gonna try to make these work. -

I'm waiting for a custom set so mine will be longer, not sure if I have the game to play these but I couldn't pass up on them. The driver I already know I don't have the game for. -

Epon Personal Blade Picture Thread!
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
We had 2 pro golfers and me go out and put these against the RomaRo Pro Forged. Personals were a little more forgiving. Shockingly we could all work the Personals much more than the RomaRo's We were split on feel. RomaRo won for setup.
