  1. Kamui's custom fairway woods are simple clean designs hand made with premium SUS630 body and cold forged Maraging face. Maraging steel is stronger than SUS630 so can be made thinner providing soft feel and POP off the face at impact thanks to higher elasticity. The new Ray heads are considered mid to smaller sized heads with a pear shape and a very handsome mid height face profile. Kamui Works uses TIG Welding (by hand) to attach the face to the FW body. Because this is all done carefully by the hands of top Kamui Works craftsmen, there is very little margin of error when it comes to loft and face angle. You order 15.5* and that's what you get. Kamui Ray 3W Loft is 15* and plus minus 1* (we have seen them do 1.5 to 2.0* more) Head weight is from 208g to 225g. (this is great for those who want a 42" or shorter 3W!!) Lie is from 58* to 60* (again we have seen them go as flat as 56-57*) Face angle is open 1* to closed 2* (2* open is certainly doable!) Kamui Ray 5W Loft is 18* and plus minus 1* Head weight is from 215g to 234g. Lie is from 59* to 61*. Face angle is open 1* to closed 2*. Kamui Ray 7W Loft is 21* and plus minus 1* Head weight is from 225g to 243g. Lie is from 60* to 62*. Face angle is open 1* to closed 2*.
  2. WOWOW I would love to see that if you have a link!!
  3. That setup is very good provided you like the shaft. I like those heads and if you fit lighter graphite in irons it's a good match.
  4. We tested the Z-UTi vs Hi610 T.S hands down to the Z-UTi for performance and looking down at it. This is me average player and 2 0 hcp'ers. It was in easy agreement. But in the end a lot depends on how your eye feels about the two clubs.
  5. If it's cheap go for it. I love that driver. It's old but its a classic. Feel is superb! It can still hang with what's out now.

GSS is the exact material make up as Japanese SUS303. Master Sasaya did metallurgy testing on this.

The Ryoma flies a bit lower than other drivers at the same loft. It's a nice penetrating trajectory with low spin. Most low spin drivers are pretty unforgiving but this Ryoma packs both. At 100mph I would personally go for the Special Tuning model. It's almost sold out btw. The D-1 driver is broken up into 3 models: Ryoma D-1- Conforming Forged monocoque body and Titanium TDW face. Champagne Gold IP Finish and Black Metallic Crown. Standard 45.25" length 9.5* (0* Face), 10.5* (0.5* Closed), 11.5* (1.0* Closed), HT13* (1.5* Closed) Shaft mid kicking Tour AD FS-1 ranging from 44-66g and 3.0-5.0* of torque depending on flex Ryoma D-1 Premia - Conforming Forged monocoque body and Titanium TDX face. GOLD IP Finish, Crystal Brown/Black Crown. Standard 46.5" length 8.5*(0* Face), 9.5* (0* Face), 10.5* (0.5* Closed), 11.5* (1.0* Closed) Shaft mid kicking Tour AD Premia ranging from 42-48g and 3.9-4.8* of torque depending on flex Also available as HEAD ONLY 188-200g Ryoma D-1 V-Spec - Conforming Forged monocoque body and Titanium TDW face. Black IP Finish, Black Metallic Crown, Standard 45.25" length 8.5*(0.5* Open), 9.5* (0.5* Open), 10.5* (0* Face) Shaft mid kicking Tour AD V-SPEC ranging from 54-66g and 3.0-4.2* of torque depending on flex Also available with custom shafts or HEAD ONLY 188-200g
  8. No you would have to do that aftermarket. Or we can custom build it for you.
  9. Wow yea you got some awesome clubs there Henry! Have a good go at them and thank you!
  10. I'd say forget the Pro TX go with the OnOFF Type S FW.
  11. I love driving irons! Srixon Z-UTi goes down as my current favorite. The fourteens are awesome as well Its too bad more companies don't satisfy the DI crowd.
  12. Ryoma & Epon it doesn't get any better than that. Crazy yes will make a difference! Either club you choose will make you happy. I say go for Ryoma now and when a new Epon driver comes out get that one. If your an R-Flexer the Special Tuning is a dream. And to you Robbie, Agree totally man! Your points made me want to play a round.
  13. I was told by ONOFF 4th quarter 2012
  14. In our wedge testing the Yamaha edged out the RC. I love the RC because it's forgiving & feels really nice. What was weird is the plated version felt just as good as the raw.... to me anyway not to Tatsuro (xerobound) My only issue is I wish it were a touch smaller say the size of the TourStage X-Wedge....yum!

Wood tip weights will help with swing weight issues but may effect how the shaft tip reacts. Hot melt would be ideal if done with a clubmaker who is familiar with it. It depends on how much weight you need to add as well.
  16. a few drips of acetone in the engraving and a BBQ stick to rub it out.
  17. The new Geotech Tour Issue is IMO the most underrated wedge available in Japan.
  18. Yes I know RC Japan staff that quit because they thought the U.S JP models were "empty" in their words. There are a lot of RC unauthorized clubs out there. I have people email me trying to sell me tour issue TM heads and RC utility woods weekly. The RC woods are from the actual factory they are just rejects or stolen from the factory. I wouldn't trust. Stick with TSG we never buy or sell anything in question and we always know our stuff.
  19. It all depends on what options you get. I think the 3 most important things to modify would be the finish, stamping, and custom grind/offset/shape. If you adjust all 3 I would say 3-PW should run you about 2k.
  20. Yes it's indeed a cost saving measure. I agree with it, why waste all that good Damascus for just a neck. If this putter cost 1k+ I would demand single piece though because it looks like this guy can do it.
  21. Are these combined averages of each swing or did you select better than average shots to highlight?
  22. For those who have not seen our FaceBook page Mizuno is expanding the custom craft services direct from the Yoro Factory in Japan. A huge deal is they now offer custom offset and even more grind, stamping, and finish options. Gocchin will be posting more info on these in a bit. I love the look of the twilight finish.
  23. The Yururi will feel softer and have a bit more spin. The AF-Tours are a bit more forgiving. A lot of this will come down to your eye and what your personal preference is. Another thing to consider is the wear of a raw head. A lot of people only desire non plated and love the worn in look while others like their sticks to look pristine.
  24. The shaft doesn't need a break in the player does. I think he says that so you work out the nuances of your swing that do not support the shaft design. That said I do think Fujikura has lost a ton of ground in performance and design against other top shaft makers.
  25. We are starting to see more fake JDM golf clubs on the market. It's fun to scoff at and make fun of but people are getting ripped off. The Hiro's are hard to tell but the rest is just plain obvious.
