It's been a while since hitting them and they were prototypes but they are soft, not very forgiving, extremely workable and up there with the best true compact handmade players blades. The high price is because Suda-san value's and respects his own worth and that these are very rare.

Epon for sale - Endo leaving golf biz
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Thanks! This post isn't saying Epon will close down it's golf business. It's that Endo will likely leave the golf business and Epon is available. Edit: I saw you made another post that included: That answer is expected right? It started as rumors months ago, then turned into a little bit more than rumors. I will not go into that but let's stay positive and hope both Endo and Epon pull through and thrive. There are also a couple other JDM brands in turmoil right now and they would say the same if asked. The Japanese especially always put on a good face staying quiet about these types of matters avoiding showing weakness at all costs. -
These are starting to land in the hands of those who pre-ordered them early!

Played this a few days ago. Love it, looks a bit cheap but these twin rails do the trick. decently priced as well.
-
Got these in stock 10 - 10.5 if you need one get in touch.

Not sure if other sites are reporting this as well but there is a wide spread rumor that Epon is for sale. The problem is if they find a buyer it's almost certain the clubs will no longer be produced by Endo. The top man in charge of Endo's golf div left a couple months ago bringing nearly the entire golf operation to a halt. Endo is likely leaving golf which is something we knew they were working toward for a couple of years to focus on the medical and auto industry.

So you basically want a FW you can hit off the tee and get great distance. a few things: - shaft is a huge part of this equation. - face depth and size of the FW's head is of vital importance, too shallow and your screwed, too deep and (for most) it's not as versatile off the deck. - material of the face, imo stainless steel will not give you the distance you will require something a bit more thin and flexy - Ask yourself if this is a dedicated FW club and you have a spot for it in the bag along with a 3 wood off the deck because the length, specs, face depth and material would be different for a tee box bomber.

LOOP makes some outstanding shafts many TSG clients consider these up there with the best and since we have started selling Loop slowly but surely the group of brand loyalists has been growing. Today I'm going over their newest shaft the Prototype IP. It's a slightly tip stiff shaft that has a strong forward push movement kick, the mid section is slightly stiff as well while the butt is stiff, so yes it's for those who want to work the ball and produce a fade. The stronger, faster and more aggressive transition style player. Designed for low handicap players and the professional the performance concept reduces both back and side spin producing a strong medium trajectory. Two factors make loop shafts so great, the forward kick through the ball and the reduction of toe droop of the club head near the impact zone keeping everything down the line for a better result. The new prototype LOOP IP shaft is now shipping at TSG, in order to purchase any LOOP shaft it is installed only so you can send us your head or purchase one from TSG. We also as a precaution and benefit to the customer send them a 16 question form to fill out which we give to LOOP's owner and factory manager to help fit you into the proper shaft from within their line up. Please inquire to [email protected] if you want to purchase a shaft and for more info on the brand "click here"

Its like a thicker blade basically. I believe they used Oichi forgings and I know the grinder old man has skills and does the SDJ's and Toyoshimas for many years. Feel is very soft. I don't consider these blades but more so a compact players cb. very little offset, topline is a bit thicker than a blade, head length heel to toe is same as a blade. more forgiving than a blade. CNC back face looks great.

Finally got a full round in with these, I know it's not much but will be posting brief impressions on the blog this week.

Thank you, very good to know. Yes those R1's have a lot of fans. Good price too. CB1008 has been mixed reviews, we have many customers who love them but as you say some of our most knowledgable ones complain about the launch being to high and something clunky going on.

Miura Giken's New HAYATE Driver
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
This is the opposite of good club design, you never want to reduce the weight of the sole as the goal is to keep it as low as possible. BUT customers buying these are very happy. It's confusing. Obviously internally they have placed a whole bunch of weight low. Many brands agree with keeping the sole plate heavy and as low as possible. Ryoma is the biggest believer in this. I was working on a driver variant with them and even moving the logo on the 2016 maxima caused changes in cg location. -
PRGR DAT55G Super Egg Long-Spec Driver
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
After hitting this demo stock It could be the longest. Foamed head + 46.5" 7D shaft in the works. -
Mizuno makes the most consistently pure and soft irons of any brand imo. You still playing these? you have so many great clubs I would be interested to hear what's the main gamers now.

I'm back in the states again and playing golf a lot more. Had more time with various shafts and specs of the ZY-11 and I personally like it more than the 7. It isn't loud to me. We have sold well over a 100pcs and the majority of buyers like the spin, distance and trajectory a lot. As for sound and feel there are just people with different tastes, the same guys that think the ZY-7 is loud are the same that think the JBeam Blackout 435 is loud. I'm racking this up as to each is own. Again I have no problems with the sound and feel some customers actually thought is was foamed so as you can see opinions are exactly that... opinions.

Driver Face Shaving Now Available - TSG Club Works
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
The two most popular drivers customers are making high cor are the new 2016 Maxima D and the JBeam ZY-7. I'm sporting a foamed non conforming ZY-7 myself right now. -

TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
There is no 8.5 unfortunately. -
Hi Phil, Nice irons indeed but most customers don't participate in forums. I track 11 sets sold in our pro shop and I don't think any of those people outside of 1 is from the forum.

Just put this one in the blog, we have 1 or 2 of them. Adding to the pro shop shortly.

Enjoy!

MARUMAN 2013 Conductor Pro-X Forged Milling Muscle
TourSpecGolfer replied to tourstagefan's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Mizuno doesnt do most of its own forgings, just more basic designed MP models. Maruman, no idea sir.. They have used Endo in the past but Im not sure if the 2013 model you mention were as well. -
The ZY-7 doesnt actually launch any higher to me, we seem to be making this up because the face isnt as triangular and deep as the 11.. Even Kazuhiro-san owner and designer and Yamazaki-san both who I talk with say they have the same launch angle head vs head. Always remember in golf 1 mans opinion can differ from another for so many reasons. some people think the 7 is foamed based on feel while its not, some think its the loudest tin can ever, some think its perrrrfect! same with the Blackout some love some hate. Thats the shitty thing about the interwebs and golf gear you dont know till you know.

We have shipped over a hundred Type D 10.5's at the start of the month. This is the new 2016 Maxima, customers are extremely happy and based on when I hit it I'm almost certain everyone will prefer this new model over the D1 or the Maxima. Type-V 9.5 for the strong player is very nice. I've got a foamed V head with a shaved face and 7D "ginza" shaft in progress now.
