  1. Yes Club-X was a popular iron back in the day That old school Bridgestone connection. Not the easiest to hit if I recall correctly?
  2. Here's another one. Ako-san's main expertise is in designing fairway and utility clubs including hybrids and driving irons. He is the man who designed all the best sonartec/royal collection clubs during their hay day. The A-Grind wedges are also something special. Ako-san a man who drives from JPGA event to event arguably produces the best shaped fairway clubs ever. In a nutshell your looking at the proto hybrid with a widersole and more shallow face. It's not for the high handicap either. I'm moving to these for now. STP shafts will be the ticket of course.
  3. Thanks to everyone's support. It's unreal to see how many people cancer has taken someone from.
  4. Mizuno Japan MP-66 Yoro Craft Irons - Sorry for the delay on these guys I know many of you have been waiting patiently. This is the first of 2 sets I will post of MP-66 irons modified by Mizunos very own Yoro dept. I had the team at Yoro reduce the offset, thin the topline, straighten the top line, adjust the face shape, change the stamping config and add a custom finish and MCI Black shafts. In hand they are stunning. I'd love to hit these but with I plan to sell both sets. Full rundown is in the blog - http://www.tourspecgolf.com/blog/mizuno-mp-66-yoro-craft-irons/
  5. To me this driver flies slightly lower than most and has less spin than most. It is louder but soft and spongy not firm. It's a good spin reducer and has more roll than most.
  6. All but 2 prizes will be shipping in the next several days.
  7. Recoils do feel better than steelfibers but based on feedback they are not as accurate. It's kind of like Mitsubishi OT vs MCI, the Fuji is tighter while the mitsu feels better and launches higher. Shafts play a big roll in feel.
  8. Sorry for the strange subject of this post but I felt it was necessary to give you guys an update to as why I've been distant from the forum for the past two months. It's been a wild ride in 2016... The plan was to live abroad for a year while our new place was under construction. I started the year working my tail off in Japan for three months the result of that work is on the horizon. (3 amazing brands coming! )... We Found out baby #2 was on the way I couldn't ask for more. Then for all our hard work we would take a break and spend the next three months in Europe, then Hawaii after. Work was pumping along fine lots of new exciting products and projects in the works, and then my father's health took a turn for the worse. He had already beat kidney cancer once a few years ago but one day a dry cough had them go beyond a CT and use an MRI which found stage 4 cancer had spread. Given a few months to live with no treatment or the possibility of a year or two he had decided to fight it. The treatment he was given hit him hard with a side effect that only happens to less than 1% of those who use the drug. The treatment almost killed him faster than cancer did and he spent a lot of time in the ICU which was where I was handling many of the emails from for some time. Construction of my home was recently completed, and I moved my mini zoo, wife, and child across the country last month. We are in the process of moving my folks nearby as well so that I can take care of them. My dad is stable now and about to start immunotherapy in a few days. With a young child and another on the way we pray now is not his time. My father is the man who introduced me to the game of golf and this crazy game of life. I've played more rounds with him than anyone else and would give anything just to have one more round with him. That is why the forum has lacked content lately. I'm sorry about that. Good news is that I'm back and what's coming and leading us into the new year and beyond is our biggest projects to date. Watch and see what's coming next!

  10. I used to play only 120g steel shafts then I moved to 100 even 85g carbon shafts ( STP ) and noticed it's better on my joints, I can get better distance and feel, and dispersion can be as tight or even tighter than steel shafts. High end carbon has really come a long way, it's just about finding the right shaft. If you can get along with 95-100g with your stature and strength it makes me more confident in suggesting 100g carbon shafts to faster swingers.
  11. There is a multiple winning PGA Tour player who is about to receive their CBC's and T55 wedges. Needless to say Suda-san is excited and hope the player likes them.
  12. I have both, play the modart with Crazy STP UT 70 Stiff. Modart seems a touch straighter, has a little bit of an offset look but it's not actually offset. A-Grind is more spongy and soft imo. The A-Grind Proto is very different from their first UT. I suggest Proto. Modarts FW and UT's are very good especially in easy of clip off the turf and directional stability.

Got um, gotta take pics now!
  14. You talking about the FireExpress MAX IRON WBQ 95? Not tried but we are close with nissen who owns compo-T and talk often. When they informed me about this shaft they said its a 100g to help reduce launch. the main key point is they incorporated wood tech like 4-Axis into an iron shaft to help keep it stable. Also look into MCI Black and Waccine's heavier carbon shafts. How did you like the MCI 100 Stiff's in the Seven MB?
  15. Customer feedback from 2016 Ryoma is better than it was for the previous model. They improved all key areas which it's predecessor lacked. Personally I love it's face shape and head shape. One of my personal Maxima's has it's head foamed and shaved to max conforming COR. my other has the face shaved non conforming with no foam. both had 7D's now testing prototypes from a new shaft co expected to launch 2017.
  16. Let's start with some info about you: age handicap current iron heads next set do you want same size, a little smaller or a little larger
  17. These are only sold in Fuji fitting centers which is why you won't see any feedback on them.
  18. Both PXG and 7 series are not designed to be "feel" in MY opinion. step 1 - define what exactly feels good to you step 2 - find irons that have the design to create that type of feel - there is spongy soft, dead soft, only soft in the center for feedback, one piece soft, 2 piece soft etc.. etc.. I deal with a lot of purists who want soft centers and feedback on mishits and agree with them that the best feel can only come from a blade. I personally think blade + carbon shaft is the best.
  19. It's Amatuer hour at 7D. staff shake ups, policy changes, some weird shit going on. The prices are ridiculous!
  20. Cleaned this one up. Ping - stunning set, only 500 made, they are forged by Miura made to tigers specs for Titleist. used to be 5k brand new with wood box and certs. I will trade or buy them if you ever want to move on. ** Supo and Spoon are not the same person..lol ** I think normal JDM forum not WITB was the proper place for this ** everyone needs to chill a bit :)
  21. Custom is 2400!! T-Series Premade is $1800
  22. So bad news gents... 7D is having a huge price hike starting Nov 1st. Current Matrix Shafts will be called T-Series with two types. T-Series Custom ( same as what most of you guys have ordered up until now ) - $2500 T-Series Standard ( pre made based o the most popular designs ) - $1800 In fact any shaft that was 1200 will not be 1800 ( irons, FW, Putter, Hybrid ) If you were on the fence about 7D, get it now. payment must be received before Nov 1st to buy at the current pricing.
