I'm starting to mess with the rankings and am wondering what the members want or would have the most fun with. I'm not sure if anyone has noticed but the Mods are now ranked Loser along with the gutter gang having their own rank. Do you think we should have a set system determined by post count or a free for all rank system? I have several ideas like a scratch player rank w proof of GIHN, a Club Champ rank for those who can provide proof, a Tour Freak rank for members with 3 or more Tour clubs etc etc etc... What do you all think?

do you like the x-drive 390 or the mr-23 us driver ?
TourSpecGolfer replied to Breal's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Thats terrible! the old MR23 was crap that only lasted a year. Yahoo Japan has them for about 90 bucks. Whats strange about non pro spec models is that they are 100.00 more expensive, they also have specs stated at .5 open but they look square to .5 closed to my eye. Your right it doesn't calculate to more forgiveness but they are much easier to hit. I think the biggest factor making them easiest to hit is the internal weighting and square face angle. I play the R7 max currently w/GD W60 it is .5 closed and the easiest driver i have ever hit besides the NV3 and Cleavage 460. TM does make the best drivers in my opinion. OK the MR23 demo club will ship to DM first then FAQ. -

Any pro spec is demanding, way to demanding for my swing. I agree TM makes better drivers that are conforming, DM have you hit any non conforming TS drivers? Pro specs are on the same lines as Maru Spec drivers just not for your average player but i must say the non conforming models are loads more forgiving. I would put the R510TP in the same category as the ViQ driver " User Friendly " If you take a look at the way tourstage markets their japan stuff there is a large gap between the average golfers clubs and the players clubs, what they need is something in the middle square face's yet forgiving like the ViQ. I thought that they left the U.S due to a lawsuit from Yonex for owning the name Z-Series in the U.S. :? Ive got an idea, I'm thinking about sending a couple non conforming TS drivers out to the U.S to be demoed by TSG'rs, Ive got a 9.5 MR23 and ViQ just sitting around. I will shaft them with Tour Release 27.3's in Stiff and send them out as long as the members don't beat them to badly and Insure/track them to each other so the next guy actually gets them. Of course this is for our most trusted members with good reputations. Good Idea :?: -
Thanks Johnny. So is it bigger than the J310? :) ;rofl

Hey swunk are you going to them Japanese driving ranges? If so there is a huge difference IMHO over your average range in the U.S. For the people who have never seen a range in Japan, its got automatic ball loading machines so you don't have to bend over to tee up again, also a button to step on to raise the tee level up or down. It even has a higher quality of mat with one side long grass to simulate the deep stuff. You also get charged per ball, in Tokyo it costs about 16 U.S cents per ball that 20yen each.

The retail version in Jpn has a retail price of 80,000yen $780.00. my cost on the R7 Max is 50,900yen $490.00. The retail price of the TP in JPN will be 98,000yen with a cost of 56,000yen. What mag is this info from Zip? I doubt the U.S retail will be higher than the Japanese retail. 1300.00 isnt that bad for the first one sold, Im just happy someone was wrong about it going for $3000.00. Not to upset anyone or cause business issues, but I am getting word that cost is lower. Like around $300 for the standard retail R7. Not sure on the TP. I will find out at the end of the week when I look at actual invoices. No, I do not work at a golf shop, but I once saw one on TV. You are absolutely correct about the price being lower but retail and cost margins are both different in japan compared to the U.S. If cost was 300 in Japan that means the margin would be near 60% off of retail if it was 300.00. Now i don't doubt for a second that U.S cost should be around 300.00 that sounds correct but U.S retail will be abouts 200.00 less than japan retail so that sounds about right.

GDO Japans best selling clubs
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
I cant even get the " Forged Wedges " no one knows what I'm talking about yet they supposedly are the #1 seller for Golf Digest Online. The MacTec putter was used by shingo for a lil bit last month and its 200.00 shipped. So you can get basically any Japan stuff?? like possibly a 360XD 3 wood, or Nike 300cc Ti driver, or Katana Putter like this one http://page6.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/f21828447 :D Sure, Yes i can get you those products but I actually suggest different ones over the ones you have selected but hey i play ladies graphite in my wedges and X-flex in my FW's so who am I to judge  -
I know that the CT is for Tour and I have heard the CL is for his personal friends but what does the poop doggy represent?

TM players paid to use the R7 headcovers and Bag's?
TourSpecGolfer replied to TourSpecGolfer's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
Dont get me wrong I do have the R7 in the bag right now, Im just curious if these guys are taking cash for this or doing TM a favor. -
The latest JPGA tourney was won by an American player sponsored by TM. I noticed he had the white R7 hat i wanted and one of them limited bags I was selling, he even had an R7 umbrella but when pulling the R7 cover off his driver to my surprise it was a conforming 510TP. I wonder if he is being paid to put the head cover on because the R7 cover is not user friendly at all. Also whats with all the conforming drivers on the JPGA. just seems strange to me. :?

The XXIO line is probably the #1 selling brand in Japan even over bridgestone/Tourstage. Srixion is the line for better players while XXIO is for slower speed swings. XXIO drivers are ALL closed face.

TourSpecGolfer replied to madball's topic in Buy, Sell, & Trade
Hey my old putter, I sure do miss that thing  -
In Japan +2 would be two degree's closed and -2 would be two degrees open. It would be a huge difference to your eye and thats the best way to tell.

Both Japan only the new Nike Air Bidan ball was just released for swing speeds under 100mph, its got 392 dimples Also coming soon is the JDI ball it supposedly has less spin and is for higher swing speeds.

Two days ago i sent my two MR-23 9.5 heads to be refinished by Plating Japan, they sent me an E-mail saying it would be 5 -6 weeks because they are busy now and have lots of worked lined up ahead of me. I asked them to send the heads back but then they offered to clean them both up for 12.00 total 8O . sure what the hay and here is how they came back looking. Before: After: I know its not a big difference but it was only 12.00 bucks after shipping back that is only 2.00 and now they are an easy 8.5 condition.

I recently bought a bunch of TM Tour FW's, V-Steel Tour w/ Pro 95, 200 Tour smooth 17*, 200 Tour 21* smooth to compare against my MR23 FW's and here is what i found. The V-Steel Tour is .5 more closed than the MR-23 FW's and doesn't feel nearly as good at impact which brought me to the question, are the MR23 FW open or square :? I thought V-Steel Tour's are square. I also bought a cheap used F-ST 13.5*w/ YS 8.1 SX flex and that thing put everything to shame I mean EVERYTHING I have ever tried. I have hit F-ST's many times before always loved the feel and sound just found it a little difficult to hit from tight lies, but this time around with the heavy shaft it just kills my TMs and my MR23s flat out. The F-ST has a closed face of .5 and that is no problem with me, In fact my R7 has a.5 closed face also, I have hit the square face R7 and I still prefer the closed face better. Anyone like closed faces in this Tour age?
