Correct shaft weight for 5w and 7w to match 3w
I think you made the right choice going same weight. Swing weight should not be an issue despite the shorter lengths of the 5 and 7W given that generally speaking, the head weights of the 5 and 7W are heavier than the 3W. And any worthy club fitter will be able to work from there to get a matching swing weight.

Bettinardi Tour Stock and Signature series
Thanks for the above Jay. Very informative. I was looking at a Tour Stock Fit as a stop gap while my GS is with GF and my Machine custom is still underway (just posted WIP pics in my Summer bag Change thread. Really excited about that one). Based on your feedback, I may just get one.

Reviews From A Mid Summer's Bag Change
MACHINE CUSTOM WORK-IN-PROGRESS PICS Just got work-in-progress pics of my Machine. She;s not half way done yet and a lot more work to do. Have decided on a nick which will be hand stamped on it. Really really thrilled about this project :-) About 2 more weeks to completion and hopefully I'll be gaming it by month end.

Bettinardi Tour Stock and Signature series
Jay, The FT face you tried, was it SS or Carbon Steel and did you find it softer than your other putters? I know its a big question with a lot of IFs but elsewhere, an owner was saying his FIT face SS Tour felt even softer than his non-FIT face carbon Betti. As for roll, you;re saying the horizontal mill still rolls better for you than the FIT? The FIT I think is horizontal with the honeycomb effect below. Sorry for the many questions but I have yet to see a FIT betti in the metal.

Reviews From A Mid Summer's Bag Change
Machine just updated me that my custom head, spacer and flange have been milled, the Thread Mill Groove face milling has been done and further custom milling based on the agreed design is under way. Was nice that Dave Billings has gotten involved in this project as well. They should be sending work-in-progress pics soon and will post. I've also decided on a black shaft of sorts from Vibrant for this. Just need to decide shade of black.

Bettinardi Tour Stock and Signature series
Yes.. The FIT face milling looks very interesting especially with the honey comb effect underneath or at least that's what it looks like from net pics.

Bettinardi Tour Stock and Signature series
Thanks. Have you tried the Kitada 303 with deep PZ mill? I found that too soft. If the Carbon Steel Fit is similar in feel, I won;t like it.

Bettinardi Tour Stock and Signature series
DASS and Fit face.. that should be from the Signature series? Have read up on those and if they were 355 grams like the Tour Stock series, that would be perfect.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it...
Mikey, Have you tried the Crazy Protos? Although the sole grind is very different from your ELK (Crazy have more toe, heel and trailing edge relief), the Crazy's are great and teh 58 can be bent to 60 easy and no problems opening up given the grind and relief.

Bettinardi Tour Stock and Signature series
The fit face is the thing that caught my eye. Not much softer compared to the SS Signature series?

Bettinardi Tour Stock and Signature series
Anyone gaming them? These are carbon steel. Are they overly soft? What about the Signature series putters... Any feedback? Thanks

Vibrant Golf Shafts
Me too. I think its TMG 32. As mine is carbon steel which is softer than SS and as I did not want an overly soft feel, Dave advised the TMG32 which is most number of lines. When are you supposed to get yours?

Vibrant Golf Shafts
Me too! I've come to realize I'm better with horizontal mill than the multi directional new PZ like mill. Will definitely post updates when I get it. How many lines TMG did you go with?

Reviews From A Mid Summer's Bag Change
P-Tune PG313 and RomaRo i-Brids With a few rounds under the P-Tune and RomaRo i-Brids, I have decided that they will not stay on as part of the Mid Summer's Bag Change. Are they bad? No... definitely not. P-Tune...the P-Tune is a lovely head... great matte black/dark grey look with a nice red accent. The feel and sound is better than the 435 by a ton I would say. Distance wise however, it gives me nothing over the 435. Now, in case some may be reading in between the lines, I am not saying it is short as well.. The P-Tune is NOT a short driver and as long as the 435 for me but not more on average. What the P-Tune does offer over the 435 for me is on 2 fronts... the ball flight is strong. Not to be interpreted as low and worm head culling.... just strong into the wind. It seems to just hold the line into the wind the best and for that bit longer. Ball flight of the 10.25 P-Tune with the WBQ 55 is about the same as the 435 with TJ46. The other aspect of which it is better than the 435 is in the area of forgiveness. It's just more point and shoot whereas for the 435, I tend to need to really focus or can lose it high push fade which is my usual miss. I would say forgiveness wise, it'll sit in between the maxima and 435 to no ones surprise. And that is why I have passed it on to a forum member. If I feel I am swinging well, I have my 435. If I feel I need the forgiveness, I have the Maxima. Distance wise, I can say for me, I think I have reached the point of where I gain very little if any from new heads and shafts... the 435, Maxima and P-Tune all are about the same for average distance.... that said, I'd be very interested to try the Trpx heads when they come available. Great head the P-Tune, just that it offers nothing more for ME. The RomaRo i-brids.... night and day with the EGG I+ feel and sound wise. Sweet spot this thing and the firm yet slightly spongy feel of the rebound is orgy inducing. The 20* is easy to play and the square faces of the i-Brids are also near point and shoot. The 17* a tad more demanding. My bad shots with these were tops which ran like hell... and talking of running, these things do run if you want a lot of run, the i-Brids are for you. They are for ME however, quite a bit less forgiving than the EGG I+ which I have now reshafted with a Fujikura MCH 70. The i-brids also have a lower trajectory for me. For those that lay links and windy courses, I think this will be a great addition to the bag. The only set-back with the I+ which prompted a change was my tendency to hook off the tee. I'm hoping the firmer and heavier MCH 70 will help that. 1 round so far and it seems to have. So the i-brids have since also been passed on to forum members. I may be tempted to try the RomaRo Type R UT 18*..... Next up... the reviews of my custom Machine and GF tuned GS Mono 3 putters... hopefully I'll have them by end of this month.

Vibrant Golf Shafts
Thanks for chiming in. Good to know. Will probably get one just for fun and if I don;t like how they feel (I think they are just True Temper stepless shafts coated), wil go back to my UST FF.

Shaft weight vs. Flex.
Thanks Jay.

Shaft weight vs. Flex.
Interesting Jay. I'm actually thinking of going back to 60+ gram after toying with high 50+ grams shafts for a while. While I can see how they feel more stable and could be better dispersion wise, have you noticed distance loses n average and what about out right longest drives?

Fujikura MCI
Could very well be. On a side but related note, the MC shafts seem to have more steel content in the tip walls than the steel fibre shafts for what that is worth.

Fujikura MCI
I'm trying the MC HYBRID 70 shaft now in my EGG which I just put in yesterday. As for the MC iron shafts, its kinda weird as you go across weight classes. I have tried MCI 60S and MCI 80R and the 80R plays a lot stiffer than the 60S. I'm guessing its due to shaft wall thickness.
