RomaRo Type R Fairway Wood
I demoed the Type R UT 18 with some Fujikura Hybrid shaft against my Egg 3I+19* Fuji MCI 1 iron shaft at the range. On feel and sound and many would argue looks as well, it smacks the Egg I+ hands down but one overall distance, the slightly weaker lofted I+ was at least on par with the Type R 18. That said, I went with the i-Brids (which I also demoed) as I found that even more solid in feel and forgiveness and distance seemed the same as the Type R and I+. Had a more boring trajectory of all 3 though. And as I play all my clubs slightly shorter in length, the slightly more upright lie of the i-Brids is ok for me. The Type R hybrid is a very solid, forgiving and long club and has all the nice RomaRo styling cues and finish.

Ryoma D-1 V-Spec 9.5* with Crazy CB-80LS Noir 6.9
I fully agree with duff. If you're not comfortable for any reason just walk away. And buying used will always have some measure of risk. I have had used shafts snap on me etc but more often than not, things have panned out fine. If I want the lowest risk transaction, I realise I have to buy new and pay the premium. You should too. And so what if someone makes a profit? Profit is bad all of a sudden? What if I was given something and want to sell it? I have to give it away too? I may but not because you say so. The right price is the price that is agreed by buyer and seller. Let free market forces prevail.. To the TS, sorry for polluting your bst post as I normally don't post on bst but this is getting silly. Suggestion... Just close this and repost with your latest price.

Lexus vs Merc
wmclarenf1 replied to TourSpecGolfer's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearAM is fantastic! Love their lines and design cues! Sleek, Sophisticated and not loud! DB9 is lovely. Won't be ale to afford that on my shores unfortunately. Dumb question.. who makes the engines for AM form the simple V8 Vantage, Rapide, DB9 etc?

Woohoo! New Toy - P-Tune PG313
Even without P-Tune, I can say the Maxima is a very good, can be very long and forgiving head. You just need to accept that it launches a tad highER than most when looking for a shaft. Will be a few weeks before I start posting reviews of the P-Tune etc.

Woohoo! New Toy - P-Tune PG313
Hi Ed, Yup, a big ask to go level much less replace the 435 and Maxima for ME. Exactly why I need to demo with the same shafts ie TJ46 and WBQ 55 so that's its as like for liek a compare as can be. Anyone has a WBQ 55 SR to send to me cause I sure as heck ain;t messing with the one in Enigma. Should be confirming my Machine too later tonight.

Woohoo! New Toy - P-Tune PG313
Part of my mid summer bag change where every club has been or will be changed. Not sure how wise that is in the middle of the playing season but over here, I pretty miucj can play the whole year through. Will be trying a Crazy Tj 46 in upright setting first. A very nice looking head and the matte cafe black finish in face and sole is very nice. Will post a review together with the rest of the mid summer bag change in a few weeks after I get in several rounds with the new bag.

Lexus vs Merc
wmclarenf1 replied to TourSpecGolfer's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearI think Japanese high end / super car manufacturing suffers the same prejudice/isolation (whatever you may want to call it) as Japanese watchmakers. The GTR (super car but perhaps not super badge) and the LFA are clearly in super car territory performance wise but maybe its just that it is not positioned in peoples' minds as such. When one thinks of Japanese cars, they usually think cheaper but reliable. When thinking Lexus, its refinement as Lexus seems to have hammered home from day one. Same with Japanese watchmaking. There is Seiko which is cheaper and reliable just like Nissan and Toyota and then there is Grand Seiko and Credor. The level of finishing is second to no swiss brand and perhaps even better one may argue. The level of precision and accuracy makes the swiss COSC standard look like a joke. And the Credor repeater, I think an unbiased mind will be hard pressed to find any Swiss, English or German brand offering a better chiming watch. And when it comes to decorative dials and such, I would safely say the level of detail, refinement and overall finish on the Maki-e and Urushi dials offered by the Japanese is really unsurpassed which is no surprise by so several Swiss watch making household names have opted to include Urushi dials as opposed to trying to re-create because perhaps it is just so hard or perhaps even not possible to re-create the levels of the Japanese Urushi masters.

wmclarenf1 replied to TourSpecGolfer's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearThe look of this really takes you at first glance and even second and third. A very aggressive and eye catching look but I do wonder if the overly glaring yellow will age well. The white edition is sublime!

wmclarenf1 replied to TourSpecGolfer's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearI remember this episode! Top Gear is a great docu if you can appreciate the humor. I remember him saying the only thing lacking in the LFA is a cup holder :-)

New kid on the block: Triple X - TRPX?!
The sole designs of the drivers look interesting. Very much in line with Crazy and DWDs. Looking forward to the reviews. I presume the shallower is slightly lower CG with a highER launch and spin and the deeper face more for the player with a more penetrating trajectory and lower spin? T, when you run your reviews, appreciate comparison against the 435, 460HX, original D1 and Maxima if possible.

Dammit! Just when I thought I weaned myself off the Eggs.

Grips??
I've tried the Muzik and Nowons and for me, it had too much torque or at least I felt more twisting that I would like. I think this is down to the design and depth of the cuts (not sure what the correct technical term is) on the grip that is supposed to help with air flows and perspiration management. I like the Iomic Sticky best.

Piretti and Lajosi Putters : What's the deal?
And that's where its weird for me... I know from trying all kinds of putters from slant to center shafted that PN works best for me so I wont be changing that. I also like the blade like look so won;t change the flange. The only thing I guess I May mess with is weights so all this interchangeability is actually wasted on me LOL. Confirming specs now and order hopefully will be placed tonight.

It's here!! The new egg SPOON and new egg Lineup!
The New Egg UT comes in 19/21/23/25 loft option and now seems to have some weight option at the back. Think that should be to help get the airborne but I didn;t think the I+ needed that as it launches so easily. Was hoping they'd release a 16* version.
