  1. When it comes to loft and lie, I prefer to have it done by my fitter while I am present. Even if the retailer did adjust the oft and lie for me by request, I would still check them :-)
  2. And what a way to end the Chinese Year of the Dragon. Read about this Tomaru dude and his legendary grinds and Dance with Dragon is so.... left field LOL. Will be going to the fitters later to put in my Shimada shafts and adjust lie angles and bend the 52 to 50. If this checks out, will be getting either a another 52 or a 56 to be bent to 54. Going to have a hard time explaining this brand to flight mates LOL.
  3. Hi, First off, congrats. As for the star, idrive posted earlier that the star indicates conforming and no-star, non-conforming. There is also unfortunately, a site that sells fake/stolen etc H irons with no star. If you bought yours from an authorised dealer, I'm sure you're ok just that yours are non-conforming and not eligible for competition play.
  4. So is the wedding canceled yet? :-)
  5. Thanks for this useful info.
  6. Anyone tried it? Sounds like it'll be a great FW shaft. Distance of TJ-46 with added control.
  7. The head looks in great condition for a used club. Don't sweat it. I think when buying used, we have to expect a less than perfect or new club. I know it sounds logical but sometimes it seems people expect a new club free of all nicks, scratches, small paint chips when buying used. Only one way to get that. Buy NEW. Bump for a great driver!
  8. Dude, its a USED club and its only a very small paint chip.
  9. NS Pro 750 sold and pending payment and pickup.

Assuming the SX is softer than the 8.2, does it work for you because you swing harder with your FW?

That logic I have heard of and know a few doing that.
  12. There's only one way my friend... LOL

Frank, I don;t know what the MCIs are but if they are graphite shafts, then what I suggested to have the fitter file down the tip by hand wil be possible and you keep your taper hosel which as bogeydog suggested, may be a topic of discussion should you choose to sell the heads later. If the MCIs are steel shafts and cannot be filed down, then the only way is to ream and if you want to use taper shafts after reaming, then as many have suggested, the only and simple way is to shim. You will not be able to feel any difference with the shimming unless maybe you are rory or tiger and even then...

Is it the norm to go half or one flex up in the FW over driver?
  15. Tae, In betting tems, this set is a low odds. I really doubt you will regret this dude. Bump for some great, great...... great irons!

Frank, Why not just do it the old fashioned way with the fitter slowly filing down the shafts to fit the taper hosels. That's what I meant when I said its more work for the fitter. If you don't mind reaming (;-)), then go for it but for me, I prefer to keep the hosel sizes original. No right or wrong, just different ways to get to the same end.
  17. These are SOLID irons chaps!
  18. Asking for a friend. I presume the latter is the newest version and the former, well, the former. How long ago was the former released before it was replaced in 2011? Also I have gogled to find that there are slight differences in the weight and torque ratings. AS for flex, the softest for the new CB-46 Black is 6.2. THe former model did not have numerical flex ratings but alphabetical starting from R2 to X. Does the R2 flex of the previous version equate to 6.2 in the current model and so on and so forth? Any playing differences? Pic of the old model below. Thanks.
  19. THe 531 is a nice shaft Tomcat. IF its a SR or stiff and you tire of it, let me know ;-)
  20. I hit the 435r in an indoor range and that together with what I read that it is for higher swing speed players, I don't think it's right for me. Face felt very hard like the kamuis.
  21. I know your asking about a shaft Tomcat but no offence to your friend, 125mph and only 165y for the 7I? Heck I get about close to that for my 7I with my paltry swing speed. I think he should look for one COACH first to harness all that power and then ask him to saty away from TM and look at some Kamui's with their harder faces for hgher swing speeds and a good high modulus shaft to match that :-). There.. some shaft advice :-)
  22. This is old news but ... Decided to get back a 435 and got my JBeam 435 Black head in yesterday afternoon. Took it to my fitter at night. She's a 10* loft and head weight is 202 grams. Face seems square to my eye. Decided to put back the FEX 55SR I played in White Mamba 435 10.5 head. Playing it a tad shorter now at between 44.25 and 44.5 ionic sticky 2.3 grip on. SW D1.5. Took her to the range today. Funny the sound of this head is less tingy and high pitch compared to the previous head. After a few hits, I am SOOOOOOO glad I got another one. The 10* head flies noticeably lower than the 10.5. Again, same range, same shaft and same hacker. And boy the roll form this thing... So I need to appoint and christian this setup the Black Widow now. I am a happy camper. Problem is, I have a brand new TJ-46 I just got from T sitting in the spares bag... hmmmm... what to do? Well to answer that, first what happened to the Romaro 460HX Gold? As I will be playing comps this year, I had to go conforming so the 460HX Gold is in the US now but the 460HX Gold impressed so much with its hot face and feel, I decided to get back a 460HX Black conforming head in 10*. I will be putting the TJ-46 in her and hope that she presents me with a headache given I now have my Black Widow. Either one won't replace my Okamoto Ryoma D1 TJ-46 because she is just so reliable and ...safe. Oh and the TP-07S? Just not for a slower swing speed player like me and that is now in OZ with a lower handicap player :-) Got a few more toys coming in... wedges, putter, D1 F3 but in the mean time...My Black Widow! She sure ain't the newest out there but as far as I am concerned, she's still one of the greatest. All I can say of the 435 the second time around.. if you in the field for a long distance head and don;t know too much about anything else, its really hard to go wrong with the original 435!

Frank, it these don't come per trimmed and tip prepped to taper, it just means it'll be quite a bit of work for the fitter
  24. T, THese DWD wedges are conforming?
