  1. I just got back fromt he raneg with the 460HX and TJ-46.... DAMN! Can;t wait to take it out for 18 tomorrow.
  2. A couple more days to end of sale :-) have a great 2013 all.
  3. Let's just say at this point in the, I am really tempted to get back a 435 but in 10*. I just have too much new stuff going on now... new driver, new irons, new putter.... My shafts are accumulating as well.
  4. Hi, Yup.. it wasn;t right for me and it's down under now :-) Once I get some airtime with the 460HX, I'll do a little writeup on these 2 against the D1 and 435.
  5. My RomaRo 460HX just arrived this morning. Will be taking her to the range tomorrow and then for a round on Monday. Let;s hope she works out better than the TP07S for me.
  6. I can fully understand why now.
  7. Played 18 with the new irons today and as a weak 10.4 capper, I broke 80 today and shot 79! These are the findings or the H irons in comparison to the Epons today: 1. They definitely feel less soft but sweet its are so sweeeeettttttttttt 2. They tend to hit whereas the Pro Is tend to hit fat on bad shots. I think this is due to the leading edge grind on the H which aids this. 3. It could just be me today and how I was swinging but I correct my earlier statement that the H irons hit a tad higher. They hit lower and have a more penetrating trajectory. Bear in mind again that it is the same shaft, length, lie, loft, ball and 10 capper hacker. 4. The sweet spot of the H is closer to the toe relative to the Pro Is. 5. Can these hold the green.. well take a look.. a shot of ball and pitch mark with an 9I. The H's hold similarly up to 7I. Pin Attack! But today's good round was also due to one new addition which I will post later....
  8. LOL... someone finally noticed.. The Ryoma D1 is my safety driver ... so I decided to name her after Japan's number 1 (I think) condom maker, Okamoto.... :-)
  9. Stiff as stated in the title.
  10. Selling a great condition 5-PW (6 shafts) set of NS Pro Modus 3 shafts in STIFF flex just pulled from my RomaRo H irons. These are taper tip and the 5I played to a finish length of 37.75 in the H irons. I have attached the NS Pro link which shows the description, specs and price of US$295 for a 6-pw (5 SHAFTS ONLY) or US$59 a shaft before ship. http://www.nippon-go...rod=nspromodus3 Withdrawn Best for 2013 to all! Thanks for looking.
  11. Yes they were. I did hit the 7I with the Modus 3 before I reshafted it and if it was in the same weight class as the 750 (high 70s), I'd play it without a doubt. I can handle stiffer shafts, it's the weight that gets to me as the round progresses. As I mentioned above, even though the Modus 3 is much heavier (120 grams vs 78 grams +/-) and stiffer, the feel was still very very good.
  12. Just got my RomaRo H irons yesterday and only resifted the 7I and 5I to compare with my Epon Technity Pro I irons which were laucnhed in 2004 and I have been playing for over 4 years. I put in the same NS Pro 750 shaft, same length, lie, grip etc. From a fitting point of view, these 2 are Siamese twins and hence provide the best setup for a side by side comparison. Same ball, same lousy golfer, same everything else but the heads. This is also a very restricted comparo as I have yet to take them out to the course which I will after I reshaft the rest of the RomaRo Hs today. I have taken side by side pics of the hosel offset, top line and sole width. You will notice that the RomaRo which I have put black ferrules with a red stripe to match the red paintfill have thinner toplines, narrower soles and less hosel offset. So perhaps these are more of a players CB than the legendary Pro Is. Does being more of a players CB translate to being a lot less forgiving? For the 70+ range balls I hit this morning, these are my preliminary conclusions: Feel : OK.. let;s use Epon as one extreme to indicate soft and Miuras on the other extreme to indicate hard. I'm not saying Miuras are hard by any measure but relative to Epons, they are less soft and many of use are familiar with both Epon and Miua feel and soft/hardness. The H irons fall in between but closer to Epon softness I feel. The ball feels as though they stick to the face for that one micro second longer. Again, this is same, shaft, ball, grip and 10 handicapper. Sound : Both emit the same sound BUT the Romaro H has a slightly higher pitch but only so slightly making it in my audio perception universe to be consitent with the slightly firmer feel. Ball flight: The H launches the ball just very slightly higher for me but the extent to which I can say is not material. Distance: Both seem to carry the same but on pure hits, the H seemed to go further. Spin : I really cant tell as the range grass was long and soggy. I should know better tomorrow. I am hoping it will hold the greens as well as the Pro Is. Forgiveness: I would rate the Pro I as being the more forgiving but only just. Looks : The H irons are perhaps the first irons in over 4 years to excite me on looks. Sure, look are very subjective and personal, but I love how they look and despite the thin top line and less offset, these do not instill and fear during address. That's all for now folks. I initially reshafted only the 5 and 7I thinking if these do not work out, I'll put the Modus 3s back in Well, I'm reshafting all of them now so you know my stand on whether they will work... .....anyone want to buy a great condition pulled 5-PW set of NS Pro Modus 3 in STIFF flex and taper tip? 5I played to a finish length of 37.75 in the H irons :-)
  13. Well even if its not, it's bought so we'll see how it rolls. I have been using a cast yes head made in china which actually is still working so I won't be overly fussed if I still make putts.
  14. Thanks for chiming in supo. If the romaro 460hx, doesn't work out, I'll just be getting back a 435 in 10* loft to complement my okamoto ryoma.

The distance gains could be due to the longer length.
  16. Got the 5 and 7 reshafted but before I did, I hit a few balls into an indoor range with the Modus still in them. While the MOdus 3 was clearly stiffer and heavier that I have been used to for a long while, I must say they (heads and shafts) felt great! A different kinda soft to Epons but soft nontheless and very solid. These are looking very very promising indeed and I may just be replacing a set of irons that have been in my bag for over 4 years!
  17. Will do in due course... I'm just reshafting the 5 and 7 irons just in case they don't work out for me. These came with Modus 3 shafts and the red silkscreen on the shaft really went well with the red silver theme.
  18. Woohoo! My RomaRo H irons just arrived. Gonna put in my NS Pro 750 shafts, fit them to my length and lie and give them a good side by side with my EPon Technica Pro Is. I have not been excited by irons for at least 5 plus years so I really hope he H irons work as good as they look, Mine came with red iomics, black paintfill for the sole numbers and red paintfil for the 4 pointed star, RomaRo and H signs.
  19. dammit chiro! Wil you stop about how good te 435 is already.. I'm really missing mine.. LOL Merry christmas!
  20. Depends on the loft of his 435 and his swing. I do not find the 435 is not as low launching as mentioned by some.
  21. For me, I generally have never gotten along with any Fujikura shaft and I have tried more than my fair share. You will find the Diamana X a very smooth shaft. Maybe try that in the 435 as well as perhaps the Crazy Noir series may not be quite right for you?
  22. Are you focusing on the shafts as well? I see you play a Fubuki K. I tried that for a while as well i the prescribed flex for my swing speed and I can say for ME, the performance (distance and dispersion) is nowhere close the the Crazy TJ-46 or FEX 55. Maybe you should look at shafts as well?

Shinta, What finished length did you play the 3 drivers at and what shafts did each have?
  24. I have a lot of experience with the 435 and a short stint with the TP-07s. I would say the TP-07S launches a little lower but then again it was a true 10* while the 435 was a true 10.5*. The TP-07s has a harder face of the 2 so I am guessing, faster swingers (not me) would fare better. I will be the first to admit that feel and sound of the 435 is not the best BUT for overall distance, I still think nothing beats that yet. As for forgiveness, I would say the TP-07s is more forgiving, not silly forgiving like the Ryoma though. Good luck and let us know what you eventually go with.
