Not a Big Miura Fan
The feel is definitely more to NS Pro feel.. smoother and you can feel the slight flex on full shots which is what I like. The spinners.. have not played the current spinner but compared to the previous spinners, these feel and perform much much better for me and I find them to be very consistent in that they do what they do every time. Comes in 2 weights.. the NV110 and NV120.. I use the 110 for my PW, 50 and 54 and the 120 for the 60*.

Thanks Dale. I ain;t as brand conscious as most.. as long as it works :-) And the 60 head has a lowish bounce so maybe I'll get that in to try first and then take it from there. Thanks again.

I still like my Shimadas very much. Good feedback and great for half and full shots. Have you tried them?

Is the face milled? Now that my irons, driver and putter seem to be sorted, I'm looking to replace some of my non-conform wedges. How do these spin for you comparef to the Miuras? From your compare to the Miuras also, I gather these are rather firm feeling as I found Miuras not as soft (which I wanted) as the Epon Technity wedges I used to play.

Miura Giken WMF-01 Wedge Conforming?
Anyone know? Thanks.

Made the Switch to Crazy Toyoshima's
They actually look really good! I like the Crazy Wing logo stamp on the Proto back over the butterfly stamp.

Yeah... I ran a search here and I think some of the limiteds went for USD900+ a pair and some even over a grand a pair. Is that just for the limited or the Prototypes as well?

Not a Gold standard experience for ME
I'll take a look at them ... no issues there but like I said, it has to be a demo putter that somehow I come across as opposed to me just dropping a couple of grand on faith which after their iron experience there isn't a lot of. The GS I have right now actually doesn't feel that good and soft but the putts are rolling and most importantly sinking. I can live results over lack of a nice feel but can;t suffer vice versa. Heck, I lived and had a decent putting average with a very much retail China made Yes Callie LOL.

That's good for him :-)

Royal Collection and Vega Wedges
Thanks for chiming in. I just found out one of the local distributors brings in RC and very very very very competitively priced. They don;t have demos though so I may just buy one to try and take it from there. The RCs are a very different shape from my older Miuras though.

Not a Gold standard experience for ME
My experience with Gold's is this iron only and it had a NS Pro 850 shaft in it, one which I am very familiar with. I have not played their putters but frankly, unless I can get my hands on a demo, I'm not inclined to pay a couple of grand to try their putters especially after this experience.

Made the Switch to Crazy Toyoshima's
Thanks for chiming in. Can you compare them to say Miura, Epon or whatveer wedges you previously played? I see in your WITB sig you're not playing them?

Made the Switch to Crazy Toyoshima's
How are these compared to the Crazy Prototype wedges? Both seem to have a bit of a mirror finish. Is glare an issue and are grooves from both conforming? Looks damn cool though!

Royal Collection and Vega Wedges
Anyone tried/play these? How do these feel compared to say Epon and Miura wedges and how's the spin? Both of these are supposed to be Made in Japan. Thanks.

Not a Gold standard experience for ME
My coach's son took over the operation of the driving range I frequent and they started today. I thought it'd be nice to go show some support and decided to go buy and hit some balls. Apart form my playing clubs, I also brought a loaned Gold's Factory iron just for fun and after all I have been reading about it, I was really expecting a really nice, soft and solid feeing club. I hit it beside my Epon Technity Pro I and RomaRo H.. For ME... and I understand others will have a very different experience and that the following comments may rub some the wrong way given the cult following of Golds .... I found it EXTREMELY disappointing and in fact rather horrible. Not soft by any means and actually felt very empty and hollow (no it can;t be due to the fact that its a CB :-) ). Could be a very isolated experience for me but I do not think I will be venturing into any GF equipment henceforth. Just thought I'd share this... Happy 2013 all!

Mini Review : George Spirits Modus 3 Style 1
PLayed a round and a half with this but before I get tho the review. The day I got it, I went to the fitters and put on the UST Frequency Filter shaft any the Iomic Abslute grip. Head weight was 351grams so 3 grams off the stated 354 grams but this looks a beaut and the fitter and other customers there also felt the same. The feel is definitely on the firmer side and putts off the sweet spot are clickish sounding BUT they hold the line! Putts on the sweet spot, due to the sound slot, had a high resonating pitch and felt softer. I'm not sure what kind of mill pattern is used here but it definitely put on a much better roll than the C-Grooves of my yes callie. No skidding! Still getting used to it but was quite happy with the results of the first round. Although I had 2 3 putts, I had 5 one putts, the rest 2 putts and 2 birdies so 3 putts for 18. Not too shabby! After my Romaro H irons, I think this is my second best acquisition during this silly season of experimentation!

Project Black Widow : Head found and decided
I forgot to add... Trajectory... for those interested in trying this... the 460HX Gold 9.5 launched like just slightly higher than the D1 10.5 and the same as the Crazy 435 10.5.

RomaRo H irons and the legendary Epon Technica Pro I
Got rained out after 14 today but I can now say with a lot more certainty that the Romaro H Irons are the REAL McCoy for me! I was playing my newly acquired Romaro 460HX with too stiff a shaft and hence straight pushed right about 4 or my drives which resulted in me being in the bunkers! THe H are a dream to hit in the bunkers! As long as the lie is good... ATTACK! The leading edge relief is great! Of all my dabblings this silly season, I can safely say I am so glad I tried and now play the Romaro H irons!

Project Black Widow : Head found and decided
I believe I have found my Black Widow Project Head... The Romaro 460X Gold 9.5*! I got rained out on hole 14 today so not a full work out. I think I also went to too stiff a shaft in the TJ46 and I should have known as I play a 6.2 in my D1 and like that and I have the 7.2 in the 460HX! Dumb ass me! I'd bet if it had a 6.2 TJ46 in it, it'll work fantastic for me! BUT....but but but... I must say the 460 HX has enormous potential.. why? My 4 misses were straight right pushes. No slices but very consistent straight right pushes. And on 2 of the pure hits...I hit longer than my D1 and ex-435! This should not be happening as with a shaft too stiff, you get tighter dispersion and less distance. Could be the non-conform face but what the heck... my gut and hobbyist fitting experience tells me this has massive distance potential and the feel is great too. The face also fees much better feeling and sounding than the 435 and 435R and my D1. In fact, I would term it THE most EXPLOSIVE feeling face I have tried. I will be going to the fitters if he is open today (NY eve here) to put in my FEX 55 SR and if that doesnt work, then I'll get a the same flex TJ-46 in my D1 but I am definitely playing a 460HEX as my other driver. This is non-conform and I don;t play many medals or tournaments but when I do or when I am not swinging too well, that will be the time for my Ryoma Okamoto D1. Guys, if you are looking to have fun with another driver and have never tried the RomaRo 460 HX, please do so! Together H irons, I am now thinking RomaRo may have been one fot he better kept secrets.... till now! Will post back after I get the FEX 55 in and play a round this weekend! Black Widow project is near complete! Happy 2013 all!
