General BS Thread
HipCheck replied to AKFLY's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearHey, can I post in this thread even though I don't have a Red X? Man oh man, putting is a funny thing. Two weeks ago I shoot 79, which is my 1st time breaking 80 on a Par 72. My last five holes were: 14- Par - Nice 1 putt on a par 4 15 - Birdie - Drove into a FW bunker. From 100 yds out, hit an easy 50° to 3 feet, sunk the putt 16 - Par - Sand save out a greenside bunker on a Par 5 - sandie! 17 - Birdie - 160 yd par 3 uphill. 8 iron to 6 feet. Severe right to left putt. I actually had to putt the ball 4 feet to the right and slightly past the hole, the ball actually stopped briefly, then made a 90° left turn to roll 4 feet down right into the cup!!! Most amazing putt of my life. 18 - bogeyed, but it was a nice up and down from about 30 yards out. So, 5 putts on the last 5 holes for 79. 31 putts total. What did I do the next 2 rounds? 38 putts for an 88 and 36 putts for an 84.

HipCheck's Bag
Good question. I played a 57° Trusty Rusty for years, but every once in a while the extremely low bounce would hurt me. The Phils set up very similar, but the increased bounce helps me out when I'm in 'digging' mode and also out of the sand.

I'm not the biggest TM fan. Actually I haven't met a TM wood / hybrid that I liked, so it probably wouldn't be fair for me to compare... However, this is really a nice little consistent 200 yard-or-so club for me. Not the longest club for me. I hit my 3 iron 10 yards longer on a good poke, but this club makes up for it in its versatility. 9/10 times I seem to hit it perfect, and it's just very effective from all lies.

HipCheck replied to AKFLY's post in a topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech GearI hear you. I played in a friendly tourney for a bachelor party this weekend. On the first 5 holes on the back nine. I had birdie putts of 10 feet, 12 feet, 6 feet, 4 feet and 20 feet. I only made 1!!!

It's a multimedia development tool called 'Flash'. Not for the faint of heart. Great thing about it is it compressed the pictures, so they load very fast on the web. No 'right-clicking' allowed either.

Thanks! The 3 has a TX-90 Stiff in it. I'm tired of graphite in FW woods. Just got it and hit it tonight. Very controllable distance and direction at the range anyhow.

I'd simply just focus on maintaining the proper spine angle throughout the swing. It can be that easy.

The key to the golf swing is....
Finish the sentence. For me, the key to the golf swing is the spine angle. It's the most crucial part of my swing. Maintaining it prevents my backswing from getting too long, allows the club to follow its natural path through the swing, and allows me to release the clubhead fully while maintaining my balance on the followthru. I been focusing on it lately and this past weekend shot my best ever, 6 over par. My driver is going 280ish every time and my irons are dead on. I hit 13/18 greens in regulation. But had 33 putts :wah: What's your swing key?
