  1. Thanks Stew, your "C9" story strikes a chord here! Would really appreciate his wise thoughts on best head-shaft combos for FEX Proto (75)s and Crazy Boron (69g)sx shafts As far as heads, I have a Ryoma Vspec 10.5* (197g), a JBeam 425 Tour 10.5* (198-205g options) and an older PRGR GN502 tour (silver one, not red one) 10.5* (198g). Am also prepared to embrace the ugly look of lead tape if I must.....I just want results and fairways hit stats improved!!!!
  2. No troubles - got plenty of stuff to trade if interested....
  3. What's the weight of the Yonex head please?
  4. I had these before - You'll like 'em - they're solid!
  5. A lot of heads these days are ~197-198g and when you put your 70-75g shaft in at 45", it is a struggle to get to a swing weight out of the "C" range and into the "D" range (even with tip weights!). Are there any JDM high-end shafts that are well known for having a heavier low balance point? eg do Graphite Design shafts typically give you a higher swingweight (all else being equal) than Crazy or Quadra? I know it's not that simple, but just thought someone else probably has been through this before!!! Thanks
  6. Ha ha, must be the red wine I'm drinking! I meant 190m/ 210yards. (Although I have read some (other) forums where blokes claim they can hit their driving irons 290 yards!!!!) Thanks for the correction sir!
  7. My 190m/ 290yard club is an older PRGR ZOOM driving iron with heavy graphite shaft. Irreplacable club - that's such an important distance - lay-ups on par 5s, low shapers from under trees, fairway hitters on short par 4s, GIRs on long par 3s.... Glad you found it!

What's the weight of head Dale? I have a JBeam 425 tour head with extra weights and may be willing to trade......
  9. Favourite wedges ever - Epon Technity 52/56/60 - even though mine are a bit worn I have just put them back in the bag with instant success. Simply perfect in every way. I am hoping the next Epon wedges to be released will be similar.....anybody heard anything?
  10. Supo we all appreciate your very candid reports mate. Man you have some nice toys to play with - it's nice that you share the experience with us! To say you are a JDM gear "enthusiast" is a big understatement!!!
  11. Also guessing these distances are in metres Stew? Did you have to add any head weight to the 44 inch driver? Do ya reckon that one would be the straightest?
  12. I think if you can just "be the ball" and forget about all that technical stuff it all works out better fix target - routine - trigger - go!
  13. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Very sorry for you Spoon - feel your pain. Are you having a burial for the tip?
  14. Super-cheap prices! Surprised these are still here....
  15. That's all the confirmation I need to give the Crazy Boron a try in the Ryoma first. Should feel pretty sweet and the softer shaft might allow me to shape the ball just a smidge! Thanks
  16. Those I know with Ryomas almost to a tee say "lower than you'd expect for such a forgiving head"......I'm sweeping the ball better these days (and getting older), so launch has come down
  17. Excitement! Good luck with your new toy.
  18. After much ho-ing over the past couple of years, my gamer golf bag is fixed apart from the driver, so looking for some good advice here..... Lucked out on a Ryoma Vspec 10.5 (197g) and have been doing my homework trying to figure out best shaft combo for it. From what I have read the Ryoma heads don't launch as high as might be expected, so am looking to pair this with something that gives me that "rainbow" flight and keeps me in the fairway so I can lower the HCP!!! It's not really a windy place here in Brisbane, so I don't need this driver to go low (I have the JBeam for that!). I do need a driver with carry and accuracy. For me, gone are the days of stiff-tip extra stiff shafts. I just can't do that for 18 holes, let alone 2 or 3 days in a row!!! I have 2 shafts sitting here: (1) FEX Proto 75s (76g, 2.9tq), and (2) Crazy Boron sx (69g, 3.1tq) What combo should I go for first? Although it would feel sublime, I fear the Crazy might go too high in this head and it might have to be another project, for another head.....another time.... You can see from my signature WITB at the moment - swing speed 105+ with a bit of late hit wrist lag. Many thanks experts D
  19. I tried them. Felt good off the bat, but not for me. I need heavy to feel the club and control the shot!
  20. So I heard - you will certainly will not be disappointed when you receive the driver! Pretty much as new.
  21. Only the putters remain, and I don't need too much more $$ for a Ryoma so check em out and make an offer!
  22. Irons AND wedges now a "job lot" - very cheap! Putters and Yamaha driver head still available
  23. More Yamaha sole pics added - first in, best dressed for this head + sexy cover!
  24. Crazy/Roddio combo is sold!
