Hi RIduffer, I think the Roddio i10sx are really nice. No probs keeping the ball down, plenty smooth, and they typically give me a gentle left to right ballflight unless I really try to turn it over. If I really step on it they always surprise me how well they handle it - really punchy and easy to hit 1-1.5 clubs longer (if you need to, but not if you don't). I had a bad left wrist problem earlier this year and so got them for that - home course has very, very hard ground. My wrist is now 100% and I'm going to keep playing them for that reason alone......if I can play more golf with no injuries I am happy!!! Problem is - it has now piqued my interest in other exotic graphite iron shafts - oh dear!!!!!!

Thanks - now on my wish list!!

Hey how do you find those Attas iron shafts? Do they keep the flight and spin down in the Romaros? Cheers
  4. Current drivers Ryoma Vspec/ FEX Proto 75s = hollow tingy spongy soft "Old school" Yamaha V410/ Crazy Red 7.4 = solid solid solid thwack soft Both very pleasurable, but the 2nd one gives more instantaneous feedback in the hands
  5. Very valuable info, thanks! I am coming from Project X 6.5 satins and I think the C tapers are the next transition in steel. Playing Roddio i10 sx now and they work really well too - amazing shafts!
  6. Very interested to hear why you like the C-taper better. Lower flight and a bit heavier feel in the long irons?? Are you more of a "hitter"?
  7. I reckon I could probably do that - Lakes has reciprocal rights with Indooroopilly too! You realise the 6th is a Saturday?
  8. Pete (and any other TSG-ers!) - happy to host you at the home course in Brisbane (Indooroopilly GC - "Indooroopilly is a corruption of either the local Aboriginal word nyindurupilli, meaning 'gully of the leeches' or yindurupilly meaning 'gully of running water'"........OK so the course is built on the river, so there's a bit of water to negotiate!! Thankfully haven't seen too many leeches). 36 holes of fun! http://www.indooroopillygolf.com.au/welcome/index.mhtml So when you coming to OZ?
  9. Sure! With enough notice I can definitely make it. Sounds like a blast. Next year I'll be coming to the USA a lot, so if golf can be weaved in there it always makes things better. All work and no golf makes you know what!!!
  10. Supo how do you reduce the headweight?......does clubmaker have to drill down into the hosel? My brother also has this older model and loves it! Be interested to see how she flies with the stinger......keep us posted please

I know exactly what you mean! I played with (and still have) PRGR 500bl irons and love them. Definitely players irons, but have what you are looking for and encourage hands ahead. Now playing 2009 ONOFF Plus with Roddio i10sx graphite. They also have a bit of offset - I needed the lighter shafts due to a wrist injury earlier this year.
  12. I like everything about this release!
  13. I have the 10.5 Vspec and get better results when I tee it low-ish. Staggering how far shots hit high on the face towards the toe go (about 30m further than you expect!). I think all the Ryoma stuff is as good as it gets - sounds like you just need to be patient in finding the right shaft combo..... Be V interesting to see what they bring out to replace the Vspec!
  14. I'd love an Astroboy shaft!!! I loved that cartoon as a kid....
  15. My vote Crazy "Kaizen (改善)", Japanese for "improvement", or "change for the better" That's why we love JDM - that's why we keep buying it - simple!!!
  16. Pete, I'm tempted........
  17. I thought 62/08 can easily be bent to 61/07 or 60/06 if necessary, but as it turns out I can hit it far enough and low enough w/o any changes - the weighting in this club is perfect!
  18. I've been keeping driving stats since getting the Ryoma and the numbers are pretty compelling (25% more fairways) - so much help in a package that feels that good - worth every cent! Now if Ryoma (or someone) would just make a putter that would do the same?????
  19. Chris recently sorted me out with a 62*/8* bounce Vokey forged wedge - stock s200 shaft. have had some practice and game time with this club and I really love it, so here are some comments. Shape My previous set of wedges up until now were the old Epon Technitys, and for me the grind on these was in every way perfect. When I received the Vokey the first thing I did was compared the grind and was happy to see the slightly killed leading edge, sole camber and even a bit more heel relief - I could immediately see this was going to work! From address it has got the perfect balance of squareness for full shots, and "roundiness" for bunkers and touch/ flop shots. Bit less rounded than the old Epons but times have changed, and this complements the Yamaha 52/56 I have perfectly. Feel Endo Endo Endo! - just like my old Technitys - say no more - happy Spin and bunkers First time I've used a 62* lob wedge and spin is fantastic from turf and bunkers. Enough bounce to easily play longer soft bunker shots, but not too much to pick the ball off tight turf and hardpan - perfect! Trajectory This was the best surprise of all. With the nice long hosel you can still place the ball back in the stance and flight partial shots. This wedge is really fun to use and I think I'll be using it a lot more than anticipated around the greens. Very highly recommend these wedges. Thanks TSG!
  20. Hi Stew, what's exact length of the driver shaft? Presume no tipping? Is that a little tip weight I see (not such a bad thing for a project I'm thinking of)? thanks
  21. I play Yamaha fairway 3 and 5 woods and LOVE them for all-around performance - tee and deck. Hot but solid feel, no ballooning, enough workability - absolute top quality. Certainly one to consider...
  22. Stew what shafts are in em? Thanks D

  24. I've got a dozen Wilson Blue Ridge balls from the early 80s and a super-mint Dynacraft set from Golfsmith with Snake-Eyes shafts?????? And a poster of John Daly when his mullet was looooooong????
  25. That's one of the builds of the year on TSG - well done - great attention to detail!
