  1. What spec are you getting on both shafts Ed?

I had the Fiamma too. A good feeling shaft but lacks that kick and hence the extra distance for such a premium shaft.
  3. When was the last time you see a Japanese golfer carries his own bag on a golf course? That's the reason very few Jdm cos make stand bags that are light enough ( 4.5 ib and under) for carrying. It's a question of demand and supply.

  5. Mark, It might be cheaper to fly to Singapore to get it along with some good eats than paying the thiefs.
  6. If somehow you can swing a pass (as trade) for the first day, it would be best for demo'ing clubs. The 2nd and last day are a bit of mad house for getting a chance to put your hands on trying out clubs. C is right about buying any golf clubs at the show. It is just mainly a show for new products.
  7. Shacco, you are welcome to fly in to Hong Kong and try my Ryoma with TJ46 6.7 to see whether you need less or more flex. :-)
  8. Definitely not more than SR on the TJ if your ss is 98mph. I struggled with the 6.7 a bit today, my 2nd game with it. It does run alot with the shaft though. A 6.4 might be better for me.
  9. For what it's worth, I have just installed a TJ46 6.7 flex (SR) on a 196g Ryoma head. The cpm is 250 @46" playing length. I am usually play a after market Jdm in R flex and oem in SR flex. The 6.7 is definitely stiffer than I am used to but was able to adjust to it after about 6 holes (my 2nd game with it later today so more conclusive opinion later). My ss is only about 86 to 88 at best but no problem with right or left side with the tj. I choose the tj over ly 02 due to lower kick point on the TJ for the Ryoma which is lower launch. A SR is probably a safer bet.
  10. I am looking for a distance shaft for my TM Gloire or a Ryoma Premia head that was just given to me. A fellow TSGer suggested the new Fujikura Rombax type S. Since its not on the Proshop yet, just wonder whether anyone has experience with it. I am not looking at Crazy shaft at the moment.

For the big or hard hitter, the V Spec would be good since its low spin and lower launching. I personally like the softer feel of the D-1 and Premia. If you are looking for a custom built, the Premia and V Spec would be available as heads only and specific weight could be ordered. I like the feel of the D-1 just as well as I like the Premia. The shape of the Ryoma is, IMO, a very traditional deep pear shape.
  12. Happy holidays to all and good golfing for the New Year.
  13. But the RF would not be available in Japan so the 'gold' is not meant for the home market. Could it be that Epon is trying to break into the big box golf stores like d**ks and Golftown with a cheaper non custom line.
  14. While I have not try the 11, the 09 forged did not feel soft to me. It actually felt harsh and a bit disappointing.
  15. If you look at their Japan site on the H iron page, you would notice one picture with the star and the other does not on the same page. Don't know what that means though.
  16. If you are thinking JDM only, take a look at Hiro Matsumoto. I have 2 MG08 and love the heavier weight. The total weight is 550g at 33.5" which is 20 g heavier than most putter on the market. Unfortunately the 08 is a half mallet but anser type head/offset.
  17. Skidding? Not sure whether this putter skid but it is soft carbon steel and the face is deep mill so it is increditably soft. It rolls great. I have a 33.5" one but not sure about the head weight. Love the putter but would only use it during the dry winter months in Asia. The raw carbon steel rusts easily in humid condition so it needs TLC.
  18. Besides the Tour AD75, what other graphite shafts would be offered as factory upgrades, T?

C, why don't you just get a Titliest Vokey forged and try it out. They are better than Yururi for me. (I am still not selling my SDJ to you..yet)
  20. I like the black and red colour but just not too sure whether the black/grey wood grain would match the gold tint sole/face of the Premia. On the other hand, the Cherry red might look cool with the gold tint (plus the gold/yellow/red of my FE.)
  21. I would wait to see the black walnut on your ryoma but deciding the finish on my Premia. Somehow part of paint on my Premia has dull. Was thinking of matt black but now want to wait a bit.
  22. S-Yard was 'The Brand' 15-20 years but somehow lost its way thru the years. Its U101 forged was one of the best forged irons from Japan. Now, I wouldn't look at their irons which reportedly are now made in China. I still remember their drivers and FW were very much sought after and they were $1,000 each 15 years ago.
  23. What drivers/shafts/flex were you using to get your '5' handicap?
