  1. Beautiful putter. And, I did not see your initials on it so you can sell it to me when you tire of it. Ha, just joking..........putt well with it. Doc
  2. I have the Epon AF 101 (two of them actually) and I do not want to change drivers. However, I am thinking I might like the Miura three wood. Isn't someone playing the Miura 3w?
  3. I have read much about Miura irons and because of what I read I purchased a set of Miura 202 CB irons, and they are incredible. However, I have not seen much written about Miura fairway woods or Miura utility clubs. How do they rate against other fairways and utilities? Should I purchase them or should I look for another brand, such as Yamaha or OnOff? Thanks for your help. Doc

Still looking for an Epon bag for around $250. I like the new bags from TSG but once you add shipping to the U.S. it is over $400 for a carry bag. Much too Much! And I would very much like to find a Miura Precious Edition three wood. And maybe even a Miura Precious Edition utitlity club Doc

I imagine they are .355 taper.
  6. Depth of the hosel is what matters. Imagine the depth on the OnOff three wood is at least one inch or more-most are around 1 1/4 inches. The width is the main problem. Some JDM woods I have worked on have a much wider diameter hosel and for those I have had good luck with a Callaway insert. It is plastic and can be gotten at your local repair shop or ordered online. I am sure your local club-builder can figure out how to reshaft your three wood.
  7. Depends on which shaft you are going to install. Go to the companie's website and lookup tipping instructions for a three wood with a standard bore-think that is what the OnOff has. Example: Graphite Design Ys-Q is 1.5" for a standard bore.
  8. I need your help to find a 4 iron to complete my 5-pw set. I need a Miura Forged CB 202 and it could just be a head or shafted. Maybe you have replaced your 4 iron with a rescue club and have no need for the 4 iron anymore. And, have clubs to trade also if you would rather trade. Help me out. Doc
  9. I am sure you could find a used Epon AF 101. It is one long driver. Doc
  10. I have Epon 301 irons, Epon wedges, Epon AF 101 driver, and all I need now is an Epon three wood. I would like to find a 13.5* or 15* AF 201 three wood. I have a few clubs to trade. A Callaway FT-5 driver, neutral, with a high-end Xcon 6 stiff shaft. Two Tourstage Prototype rescue clubs. 2 Cameron putter, a TeI3 Newport, and a Sante Fe sole stamp TeI3. An XXIO 2008 three wood and five wood. And more............ Doc
  11. Nickent is tops when it comes to hybrids. I have a 17* and a 20* and they are solid with a square face that hits the ball straight like a laser. I believe I have tried just about every US hybrid there is and have tried the Tourstage hybrid and Nickent is still the best.
  12. Check out readygolf.com if you are looking for iron covers. I purchased some neat white covers there and they have many colors. Doc

Do you have any pics of the bags? Definitely interested. Doc
  14. Any pics of the GD MB2's?
  15. Four wedges for me...... Epon 301 PW 48* (120 yards) All have KBS tour shafts. Epon 208KGX 52* (100 yards) Epon 208KGX 56* (80 yards) Scratch 60* (60 yards) Doc
  16. I would find it hard to believe that there is a better club than the Epon 301's on the market. I just recently acquired my 301's and made them even better by shafting them with KBS Tour stiff's and they rocket the balls. Incredible feel and so easy to work the ball. I also have the Epon wedges and I guess the next purchase will be a driver from Epon.

Would very much like to find an Epon carry bag or cart bag. One that is older like last year's model or before and not costing $400. $400 is just too much to pay for a golf bag unless it is a huge staff bag. Let me know what you have. Thanks, Doc
  18. Club builder here and there is no problem with delofting your 901. In fact, that is what is nice about forged clubs and the their softer metal, easy to bend. 20* is a good number for a 3 iron rescue/hybird club. Hey, bend and if you do not like it, bend it back-experiment until you get what feels the best and goes the distance you are looking for. Happy New Year!!! Doc

I have basically sold all of my Tourstage equipment to raise funds for new clubs. So, I guess I might as well let these two amazing clubs go as well. Two Tourstage prototype 03-105 hybrid (rescue) clubs. One is a 2 iron 17*, and the other is a 3 irons 20*. They both have new Aldila NV Hybrid 85-S shafts in them with new Lamkin grips. They are 9.5 condition wise and have only been hit a few times on the mats. Only $150 for each plus shipping (no shipping if you purchase both.) It's Christmas, price drop to $125 for each wedge and I will pay shipping. Thanks for looking, Doc

I have been looking at the Epon equipment on the site for a year now, so have decided to finally purchase some of it. So, I need to sell some clubs at great prices in order to build-up my Epon fund. All purchases need to add shipping unless multiple clubs are purchased. 1. Two Gauge Design 4th Anniversary wedges, 52* and 56*, with NSPro stiff wedge shafts. The millings on the faces of these two wedges are incredible, great spinners. $125 each. REDUCED price to $100 per wedge. 2. Three Scratch wedges, a 53* TNC, a 56* SND, and a 60* PDG, with X100 shafts and new Lamkin Permawrap grips. They are in fantastic shape with no dings. $125 each. 53* SOLD 56* SOLD Only 60* left...... Reduced price to $100 for this wedge. 3. A Mizuno MP T Series 60*, 5* bounce, black Ni, DG Gold wedge shaft. Mint shape with no dings. Only $75. 4. A Fourteen HI 858 hybrid 2 irons, with a Mizuno Fli-Hi Exsar stiff shaft. Excellent shape, no dings. Only $50. Was asked about trades: Only for Epon wedges and Fairway wood 15*. Must be in mint condition like these. Like...two new Epon wedges for the three Scratch wedges. Thanks for looking, Doc
  21. Looks similar to the Vega anniversary blades which are forged at Kyoei. (Oops, sorry, did not read the first post entirely, just scanned the pictures.) Doc

Thanks, that is good to hear. To be honest, I did not really want to order a set of irons where I had to have the hosels drilled out to the correct size. Doc

A fellow clubmaker tried to tell me that Miura hosel size is not necessarily .355 taper. I of course said, "no way!" I would like to purchase some MB5003 irons but probably not if they are anything else than taper. Help, are Miura's taper or not? Doc
  24. Best JDM Driver of 2008: I have always been a Tourstage fan and the new TS 2008 X-Drive 445cc did not disappoint me. A stealthy black head, 9.5 degrees, shafted with a stiff Ozik Xcon 6. This combination launches the ball lower, longer, and with less spin (rolls more.) Best JDM Irons of 2008: Was playing Gauge Design NC-1 irons and just kind of skeptically decided to try the Fourteen TC-1000 forged irons and...........wow, they are wonderful. They are shafted with softstepped X100 shafts and this leads to low boring shots into the greens. They set-up very square and are extremely soft to hit. Have been tempted to buy a set of the new Epon blades so have these up for sale, but if I do not sell them I won't be disappointed at all. Best JDM Wedge of 2008: Now this is an easy question to answer....the Geotech Special Grind Forged head of course. So inexpensive yet so solid to hit and the spin is amazing(must be those U-grooves). This club is shafted also with the softstepped X100 wedge shaft and the trajectory is perfect to the pin. How can Geotech produce such good quality clubs for so little money? Best JDM Shaft of 2008: Two reasons for picking this shaft, the Ozik Xcon 6, as the best. First, the shaft looks great, launches the ball lower with less backspin, and seems to kick right as the club head meets the ball (cool feeling!) Second, I have a workshop at home and a close friend wanted me to put in a new Graphite Design YSQ shaft in his driver, which I did, and for payment he gave me the Ozik Xcon 6!!! Amazing, an Xcon for free! Best Course I played in 2008: That course would have to be Torrey Pines South in San Diego. I have played this course many times since I live in San Diego, but NEVER play it like it played after the U.S.Open this year. The conditon was perfect with tee boxes that looked like greens. The fairways were mowed to perfection but were just a tadbit narrow, and as for the rough, OMG! I was afraid that if I dropped my club accidentally in the rough I might lose it. The greens, yeah right, might have been easier to putt with a pool cue as the speed was off the charts. BUT, even though it was a looooooooooooong day, I enjoyed every minute of the five and a half hour round. Best Shot I made in 2008: It happened just a week ago in a senior tournament I was nervously playing. On the 10th hole, which is a long dogleg right par 5, I smoke a drive, lay-up short, and hit my GT wedge to the center of the two-tiered green. And zip, the ball spins back 20 feet off the green and down the hill for a short distance. There goes my birdie.... Not sure how to chip it so I decide on an eight iron to just run it up to the hole since the green is fast and the pin is on the upper tier. Pressure of course, so I skull the chip, it takes off across the green, hits the concrete stairs leading up the hill to the next hole, rebounds off the bottom step onto the green and.........yup, trickles down into the hole...for a birdie. Who was it that said, "I'd rather be lucky than good?" Best Professional Player in 2008: My vote goes to the new spark plug on the U.S. tour, Mr. Excitement, Anthony Kim. When Tiger went down with an injured knee at the U.S. Open, we needed someone to take up the slack, and I think AK did a heck of a job. He is bold, brash, and just plain fun to watch. How can someone who chokes up hit it so far? He saved the Ryder Cup not only as a player but as a cheerleader, motivator, for the other members of the team. I hope he plays for many years. These are my best for 2008 and please forgive me for being so wordy. Doc

I once had the Gauge Design blades about a year ago and traded for another set. I wish I had those blades back. Would be interested in trying to make a deal if someone has them and willing to part with them Thanks, Doc
