Then you don't need any other wedges right now, just new golf balls. (^_^)
  2. I agree T. You know I am a believer of graphite in my irons and wedges. I love the feel of the AD-75's very smooth which really allows me to take a nice relaxed swing as I find heavy shafts cause me to have more of a downward blow....
  3. Wonder how the set was shafted and put together... one thing we've discovered is the right shaft choice in the AF-301 is crucial. That harsh and unforgiving feel is not what most here would say, and many here have been playing them far longer than those testers did probably only in a short time. Also they posted a pic of the AF-501... did they review the right iron? (^_^)
  4. Got more pics? How does the rest of the set look? Topline? Face?

Maru spec wedges haven't been released since 2005! 2006 were Ai-chan models. Nothing since for Maru.... which is not surprising considering his performance over the last few years...
  6. Never seen them before. Just because they have kanji on them may not mean they are Japanese. The kanji says "contains pure gold" that plus the shape of the head and grind make me think it's probably not Japanese unfortunately, at least not something I know of.
  7. There is no alignment aid... that's a light reflection in the pic.

S20C is just another name for 1020 as S25C is for 1025C

It's nice to see Epon Forged finally has the new products on their website. The site is looking pretty good. Hope to see some more new stuff on there down the road like accessories and stuff... Hopefully this will give them more exposure and let others discover what we already know... how great Epon clubs are.

It's MOI is not actually that high at around 4000 and is still pretty much deep faced and traditionally shaped. I'd have to say it's for the mid to lower capper with some higher cappers maybe opting for it based on Fourteens long reputation for good feel and reasonably long drivers (the long shaft helps!)

Many used to think Honma had that reputation of glittery gold and old man clubs... but they pretty much eliminated that misconception with their Beres line played by several JPGA pros and many JLPGA and a few LPGA pros (who have won on tour too). The Beres line is very very solid. And much of the reason for the costs is the high quality stock graphite shafts, ARMRQ quadraxial shafts they do use. Which may explain why wmclarenf1 lost the feel by reshafting. Honma's graphite shafts are top quality and their 7, 8 and 9 series Beres are pretty good looking and feeling and performing clubs. Quite a few forum members own sets of Beres irons too. Spoon had a set of irons he really liked if I remember correctly.
  12. Yes you can order them through TSG. PM me with your email and I can send you a design form.

It is new and will be in the shop at the end of this week. The design does look very nice... reminiscent of the scooped out hi-bore...
  14. Everyone knows Golf Gear was my fav.... too bad it was discontinued.... Higher end mags that focus on gear are Golf Classic and Choice. Also good but have a lot of training tips are Golf Digest, Waggle, Alba. Lately Golf Style has been doing heavy coverage of PGA and JPGA gear.
  15. Look forward to the results Randy and don't forget the pics! (^-^)
  16. Hi Herb, I'd really give the MD5 a try. It's a shaft that can really let you go after the ball and keep the left out. It's not only the swing speed that may cause the hook but if you are more aggressive at the top or really use your wrists a lot. I will do some more research on the Y.

It is a G-One option only. they've been doing it since late last year and they send the head away to be done for their customers taking one month to do so.
  18. When it comes to big brand names in Japan and money spent on R&D and marketing of their products, the two top dogs are Tourstage and Srixon. The Srixon line has long been known to appeal to the better athlete golfer, they make now GI clubs... they leave that to XXIO.
  19. Nice looking driver. The Y is a prototype of fujikura's that was released initially as a shaft option for the 4.6V only. Whether it will go retail or not has not been decided yet. Yamahadoes not list the R as an option or special order at all, but that's not to say it doesn't exist! Not much to say about the Y that I didn't already write in the pro shop listing. A stable shaft with mid trajectory. But it's interesting that you are hooking it if you let it rip as it supposed to be for the harder hitter.

It appears it is an option that is only produced on special order and there is an upgrade charge. I will double check on the availability of this.
  21. Wow I like the look of those. Any idea on the headweights C?

The amazing thing about the Geotechs too is the fact that their faces are square to open which is what most better players prefer. This is a rarity when many FW's these days definitely have closed faces.
  23. Hi Randy, I've played them. They are indeed very light and for those who want the lightest steel shafts. They are pretty smooth as you've probably noticed. They use the carbon wrap because the only way Nippon can make the shafts lighter is to take weight off by making the walls of the shaft much thinner. However in order to keep the shaft stable and tight, they need to add the lightweight carbon to strengthen the walls. Some have found the flex a little soft on the 750's but they feel that way because of the above characteristics which almost make them pass for graphite! They provide a higher trajectory and as I said good feel. Probably a nice paring with the soft 550's.
  24. The Masters one? $472.50
  25. Man you are long.... me jealous....
