There are a bunch of reviews out in all the new magazines I just go today. I'll look through them and post some feedback and scans this afternoon.
-
Actually Jack, that's not always the case. Both Epons do not have score lines going all the way across and they are indeed conforming as are several other drivers with smooth centers. I've always wondered about the design aspect vs the performance aspect of score lines on drivers as well and I believe that manufacturers to play with the lines for performance reasons. Score lines can effect spin and feel. My thinking used to be that no score lines would reduce spin however the X-Drive which does have score lines is pretty low spinning so that theory is not so accurate. (^_^)

The next generation RC utility is coming out... the next step from the Td+. It's got a strange name, the cvXer.
-
Of course it is S. All drivers coming out of Japan now are USGA conforming. Most of the big brands don't even sell non conforming models any more.
-
The 460 is 57mm tall and features an MOI around 4200.

Here you go T:

Sounds very promising B.... thanks for the feedback and look forward to seeing more!
-
By the way how's the new X-Drive been treating you? See you've got the ZR-700 as well? (^-^)
-
They were 29,800 yen when new.

Randy it's a wonderful looking putter for sure. One of my fav Gauges. Inspired by the Ping Anser Scottsdale. SUS303 as you know and a nice sound slot. It was sold out in Japan as at the time of it's release, the prototype version of this GA00B was in play by Shingo Katayama!
-
J sounds very promising.... sound is something I can get used to and sacrifice for fairways hit... If it goes as straight as you say, then it has accomplished its primary objective which is forgiving straight. Let us know how it goes on your home course. (^_^)

Happy Holidays Everyone
gocchin replied to idrive's topic in Out of Bounds: Lifestyle, Luxury, Autos, Hobbies, High Tech Gear
Happy Holidays to all the wonderful folks here at the TSG Forums. Best wishes in the new year and may all your golfing dreams come true! -
I think you may have got me wrong. (^_^) I totally agree with you, golf is all about having fun and getting birdies, I use personally what works. Sometimes if I'm not playing well I even carry 6-PW and some good hybrids. I just passed on the message from a mid handicapper who had a dream to play blades and is very happy with the MB-5003's, that's all. (^_^)

will tourstage bring back the MR-23 line ever again?
gocchin replied to Goshinboku's topic in Japanese Golf Clubs
My belief is no, and mostly because Maru himself has not been doing so well on tour and his popularity has dipped significantly in Japan. As you've probably seen in all the magazines, they don't give him much coverage at all. Ryuji Imada and Ai-chan get far more for Japanese Golfers. The peak of the MR-23 craze was when he was actually doing well on tour and winning. During that time it was Maru everything! Then again, Maru is Bridgestone Tourstage's most costly pro on staff so maybe they will make an attempt at it to re-coup some of their investment in him. -
Nope, unfortunately no word, no info yet.
-
I'm sure that's totally the case... but it will take some arm twisting for high handicappers to admit they have lady like lofts in their bag. I shouldn't have said I don't get why they did those lofts I should have said I don't necessarily agree with them as it would possibly eliminate mid to lower handicappers from considering their woods...
-
I'm also going with the GD MD 5 and also gonna try the stock shaft... nice pics C... (^_^)
-
It's the all new High MOI line featuring their UDS design. Looks promising for higher handicap players.. I do like a fairway wood in that shape though... but I don't quite get their FW loft choices.... 3W = 17*, 5W = 20* and 7W = 23*

Speaking of which have you had a chance to try your Epon irons out? If you're getting the Axiv again in your wedges you must like the feel in your irons? (^_^) I still have a few wedges with 758M as well. I love the feel.

When it comes to lower trajectory near right angle grooves with super spin, the Epon AF and Yamaha Inpres X are right at the top of the list. Both will spin like mad without milled faces. The RC 6150TG is more compact and spins like mad, more than the vokey for sure.
-
Definitely nothing beats hitting the driver live but if he's interested in buy a driver he can't hit or demo like the X-Drive, then swing characteristics and info can help a lot for sure. (^_^)
-
There are definitely many options out there. The more info you can provide the easier it will be to find a driver that suits your swing and game for sure. (^_^)

Here's the RC 6150TG. The AF doesn't have the milled face but does have really sharp near right angle grooves...
