  1. Yes to my eye they are identical in offset. It appears as onset because the leading edge on both is rounded making the leading edge protrude in front of the neck.
  2. Michael, I tested both wedges at George's test facility and have looked both over carefully. Size wise they are very similar, face shape, face milling, rounded leading edge pretty much identical. The main difference is the new Black IP GS SW ForgedII features a completely rounded sole ie the sole from leading edge rounds all the way to the back face of the wedge. Whereas the GT SW Pro has a defined flatter narrower sole. Feel wise both are quite similar but the rounder soled Forged II is easier to play thanks to the rounder sole especially for the more average golfer who hits fat shots or does not make as consistent contact. The narrower sole of the Pro is much more suited for the better player and will work in tight lies and provide more touch around the greens. The round sole is really to help players minimize mistakes. So you would definitely be the GT SW Pro which is what every tour player using George's wedges play. No one plays the ForgedII on tour as the grind is more automatic.
  3. lisongyan and I are making another putter now!
  4. Sure I will take one next week for you, I don't have a Maxima here right now... the TRPX knocked it out of the bag.
  5. Fourteen has long made very good drivers with VERY GOOD distance. They have competed in Golf Digest Japan's D1 driver distance contest every year with great results and most of their drivers over the past few years have been made at Endo. They have not caught on much here at TSG as they are more well known for their irons and wedges. If someone knows the true potential of a driver it is Tom (driverhead) who tries everything.
  6. Songyan, Craig, idrive, and Varit have probably the most extensive Gold's collections.
  7. Coops no idea yet as they haven't given much info except for the announcement of the product release. Definitely an iron/wedge manufacturing is completely different from a driver, whether cold forged or not. We'll wait and see as more details come out.
  8. The MP-4 has been officially added to the Yoro program meaning we can start taking orders. We cannot give an estimate ship time as the retail release is Oct 18th here in Japan but the sooner you get your order in the sooner you will get your Yoro irons some time after that date. As always each set is custom quoted so you must email me at gocchin @ tourspecgolf.com without the spaces. I made a quick graphic to outline the options including the finishes which interestingly Mizuno now comments on ie feel: Double Nickel Satin is softer than Chrome Satin etc. Cost depends on options and every order will vary. You can click on the image to make it bigger.
  9. They are all high launching with the higher loft. The ONOFF Type D, Yamaha and Romaro are probably the easiest to launch. Steve had the Type S which is for the better player, the Type D is for the average golfer.
  10. Haha I should have posted all your photos, but I was not sure if you wanted to reveal your collection. (^_^)
  11. All 27* unless otherwise noted Romaro Type R Utility ONOFF Type S Labospec ONOFF Type D Yamaha Z UT George Spirits MONO UT (28*) Fourteen UT612 (27 and 30*!) Phyz UT (28*)
  12. Bronze face insert. Blast art. Orbit around G's, Bullseyes, Arc Reactors. Quadra Fire Express high Modulus putter shaft.
  13. At 46" you would use around a 192g head which is the lightest. The RoyDeco installed drops a couple of grams when butt trimed to length so thats around 46-47g. Elite 38 is definitely a choice as is those crazy ultralight winn grips around 25g. This would bring your total weight down but the swing weight would jump up 3-4 points. You would be well under 290g even with the Elite 38. Keep in mind though, ultralights and soft shafts are prone to control issues with aggressive swings. Timing becomes more crucial. it is all about the head meeting the ball at the right time, I would go for one of the RoyDeco prototypes. They were made with a bit more control in mind and a slightly lower launch as soft and light shafts tend to launch high.
  14. Craig got his before it was even released as he is a VIP at Crazy (^_^) Jason (JayDM) is the only other one who has gotten one since it came out a few weeks ago. The design differences are mostly internal, as the outside looks the same. If you read Craigs post he thought he had the same driver until he hit it. The changes were mostly made internally with weighting and internal design changes.
  15. The new Cold Forged Vokey's will be a limited edition for Japan only. They use the cold forging process and feature a more compact head over the original vokey forged. They will be released late October with lofts of 46 degrees , 48 degrees , 50 degrees , 52 degrees , 54 degrees , 56 degrees , 58 degrees , 60 degrees , 62 degrees each featuring varying grinds. In total there will be 4 grinds, F Sole, R Sole, S Sole and K Sole. As we all know the previous model was forged at Endo but being cold forged this most likely is not. We will find out where it is made. A lot of the DAT55 drivers in Japan were/are cold forged but I haven't really seen any irons/wedges.
  16. The TRPX feels softer than the CRZ450 which is louder. Both are reasonably forgiving and both have good distance. Spin wise the CRZ which you just ordered may be a tad higher.
  17. Nobody yet as everyone is still waiting for their orders!
  18. This is actually the Night edition as in all black... I have no idea what a Tourist Trophy is... I am no longer considered a tourist here in Japan...
  19. Kobayashi-san had originally designed the Bold believing that a raw finish would create the most bite and spin. However due to consumer demand and their dislike of rusted wedges. Kobayashi-san has decided to have S-Yard release a few limited 52 and 58* plated Bold Wedges with Tour Issue S200 (Japan market). Heads are 3-4 grams heavier than the raw models thanks to the plating and custom builds will be available with any shaft. We are looking at Mid Oct as supply is low.
  20. Yes S model is a little bit shallower so the CG is a bit further back. It gives a slightly higher launch. I have both the D and S here I will try and make a comparison but the differences are minimal visually. The D probably has a more similar launch to the 425 while the S the 435. I thank everyone for their patience on TRPX. Its been a lot of work to get this partnership working but once it is rolling TSG is the exclusive international dealer for TRPX. Because we work directly with TRPX we not only have direct access to all their products but their people like ABEX and others as well. I will introduce them a bit later on. We will be able to offer members here the best deals and access to all the best TRPX products.
  21. Definitely suited for the player who wants a stronger trajectory, low spin with both carry and run. Those who like Jbeam will find this to be their best head, jbeam even thinks so themselves and they made it for TRPX.
  22. We officially begin later this week but I am currently getting all the specs together and getting a hold on all their offerings as I am working with their staff to understand all the shaft designs and specs. Mark, the TRPX S-013 removed the Ryoma from my bag, I like it that much. I gamed the Ryoma for 2 years and currently have 10 drivers here, original D-1, Maxima, new eggbird, Baldo VT811, Romaro Ray 460HX, P-tune PG313, + some older ones... and I simply love the TRPX and its feel and powerful trajectory.
  23. As far as I know the heads and woods are made in China, Irons some made in Japan, quite a few open models tweaked. Very much a cult brand.
  24. I don't even use a DSLR. I use a Fujifilm X series camera. (^_^)
