My new splurge
Very nice choices! The X-UT hits the ball pretty low actually. The UT-95 is a good shaft, they should pair well together and the trajectory should still be pretty low to mid even with your swing. Go for the Machline Pro80 FW, it's specifically made for a fairway wood and is in the bag of several Japanese tour pros now and they love it. Mach Line is very meticulous when it comes to calculating shaft rigidity and flexes so this shaft will be great.... I'm dying myself to try Mach Line.

Got lots of feedback and info... just not enough time to put it all together....

Hey has anyone hit the fourteen UT-106 ?
I have the UT-106 21* with GD Tour AD UT-85. It's a very easy club to hit. Similar shape and face profile to the X-UT except maybe even bigger. Similar type of low trajectory piercing ball flight. Workable and good feel. I never tried the stock shaft as I re-shafted immediately with the Tour AD. It will be in the bag this season as it's pretty forgiving and it's size inspires confidence.

Pro Gear PRGR 900MD Forged 699.00 + Shipping!
They are close to 1400USD regularly, I highly doubt the duty will be another 700USD. It's the price we pay for living in Canada. I hate the taxes and duty as much as you do. Maybe Chris can help you out a bit but declaring a slightly lower value. @XXIO: They are around 93-98g depending on the iron, 2* torque on the 4iron down to 1.6* for the PW. Mid kick on the 4-5 iron and High kick on the 6-PW. PRGR has always used their own proprietary shafts but they have been regarded to be on par with the likes of Nippon . The numeric number relates to the headspeed in meters per second. I haven't had the pleasure of playing them myself... yet. ^^

Finally found my gamers...
Hi Kent, I love the Epon, it has the best shape and feel of any driver I have ever hit or seen. That said, lately I have been having trouble with deep faced drivers as my misses are towards the heel not up and down. The Yamaha does not have the same sound or feel as the Epon but for me with it's shallower face, I've been having success with it. The stock shaft was not great but the head is a beauty and paired with the right shaft it can definitely perform. As for the ViQ's, I've been looking for the best combination of feel and forgiveness. I am not the best ball striker but I have been very happy with the ViQ's, they are larger than typical player CB's but I find that gives me confidence at address and they are just easy to hit! Won't be letting them go for a while (hehe at least this season). (^_-)

Superquad (Non-TP) Japan Spec
I'm guessing that the JDM Super Quad is also 0.350, the only differences I can see is the stock shaft which also makes the J-Spec version have a swingweight of D2 vs D5 for the US spec. The JDM version also includes two extra weights 1x4g and 1x8g, I'm not sure if the US one does. Japanese specs also list all the lofts as having closed face angles from 0.5* for the 8.5* to 1.5* closed for the 11.5*. Maybe someone else may know more since I'm not a TM specialist by any means.

Help!
The new XR is conforming and that's what he has above. The old XR was non-conforming... I've looked carefully at the pictures... and from the pictures it looks authentic. Have you hit it yet?

Tourstage X-UT w/PICS!
I know what you mean B, that shape head was not my cup of tea either. Like you I like the GFT UT's. But once you square up and hit the ball, fact is the club performs. Hits bullets and is probably your kind of club.

Finally found my gamers...
Just to let you guys know, these New ViQ Forged were voted iron of the year by Golf Digest's Choice Magazine. Readers praised their overall playability, soft feel and performance as witnessed by their use with several pros including Ai-chan all the way down to recreational golfers! I saw the headlines... now I gotta wait for the magazine to arrive so I can read more details... I've only heard good things about these, including from members here who own them...

Tourstage X-UT w/PICS!
It's a mid kicking low torque shaft, part of Tourstages TSU line, even some tour players use the shaft. One of the reasons why people find it easy to hit is probably cause the stock shafts are shorter in length than some of the other hybrids out there, especially non JDM ones. For example the X-UT 21* is 39" in length while my 21* Fourteen UT-106 stock length is 40.5" but more like close to 41". The X-UT is a favorite of several Tourstage pros....

DREV & Mach Line Shafts by NGS
I'm curious to try their FW shafts, and would love to see how the Proto 5350 comares to the Roddio and Axiv I have. Gonna take the Roddio and Axiv on the Vector later this week to compare...
-
Tourstage X-UT w/PICS!
Yes sir, I got one from you and it is very easy to hit and trajectory is a low piercing bullet. As you said it's not as long as the GFT UT but looks to be a player in the wind as my GFT gets higher. Difficult to hook left too... as Zero said it's a fade club.

The SRIXON ZR-600 from Japan
Still played by almost every Srixon Pro on the Japanese tour and still ranks as one of the best drivers in Japan in most mags and publications... I gotta try one some day!

Finally found my gamers...
I'm really really happy with the Axiv shafts. I was going to try the Tour AD graphite iron shafts but Chris convinced me to give the Axiv's a whirl and he was right as usual.
