  1. I'm still learning to take pics. It's a lot of fun taking pictures of golf equipment though. However with the weather so bad and the winter just gone by, all my pics in the last 6 months have been indoors where the lighting sucks. I'm using a Sony DSC-H5. I can't wait to get outdoors and try and take awesome pics like Chris does...
  2. Soooo smooth... I'm very happy. Now if only the weather here would get better!
  3. "Should" be 0.355 if the original shafts were steel.
  4. Yes I am one of the boys... I want to horde a set!
  5. Those look so sweet.... must feel sweet too! ^^ How many sets did you get C?
  6. I checked around and apparently it's an older club? Was mentioned on a blog in Japan back in spring 2006? That's like all I could find!
  7. Hi there you sure it wasn't the UT-106? If so, it's an awesome utility and the GD Tour AD UT shafts are fantastic. That would be a great easy to hit combo...
  8. What I've realized is that these New ViQ Forged are very similar to my Z-101's in design and shape except the CG and weight is pushed down further and deep as possible and the ViQ is larger in all dimensions. The feel is even softer than the Z-101's maybe because the sweetspot is larger^^. Very happy with these irons.
  9. Feel is amazing, smooth but tight, Jeff tried them and thought they would be whippy with his 105mph swing but found them to be solid and was amazed at the feel. Dispersion was very tight... easy as heck to go straight and just as good as my NSPro. Distance increase over steel about 5-10 yards but that's taking into consideration that the lofts are also slightly stronger than my Z-101's. These are it for the summer... can't afford to spend more money... (^_^) I love the Iomic grips too, tacky and look good... at least I think so... baby blue on the irons, navy blue on the wedges, superman blue with red caps on the woods and utilities, bright orange with the Epon Axiv and lime green with the Roddio Inpres X 460D... Oh and thanks to Chris of course for hooking me up with these shafts... if anyone wants to go graphite, Axiv is the way to go... and also thanks to 808hack for the ViQ's!
  10. After going through numerous sets of irons that just did not have the right combination of feel, forgiveness and performance. I have finally found the right setup. The ViQ Forged 2007 with Axiv 758M are the best feeling most forgiving and long irons I have ever hit!! The Axiv are smooth, very smooth and straight. Feel is amazing with the lighter graphite weight and the ViQ Forged are sweet and easy to hit. Even my clubfitter who swings 25mph faster than me was hitting the ViQ's all day and could not believe how good they were even with the R flex graphite. He hit the 4 iron 227yards dead center and then proclaimed that that he wanted to bag them for the year. The combination of a large sweetspot, large and low cavity back center of gravity and tungsten weights in the long irons and strong lofts, coupled with mid kicking light graphite.... a deady combo. Conifidence at address and pure feel on inpakuto... awesome.
  11. Awesome reference and I'll say it again... Chris is the best at taking photos of golf clubs... (^_^)
  12. Did you buy the Epon Technity with the Mach Line on Ebay? You can write a review too down in the review section if you'd like. (^_^) Blader-X already has one review down there as well if people want to read up on the new Technity 3 wood... he also has it compared to the G-Field. Beatutiful looking head...
  13. Epon always has stuff in the works... (^_-) Epon drivers are typically square though can be ordered closed or open.
  14. G-field Fairway Woods are some of the easiest to hit. It's the FW that's in my bag now. I've never had as much success with any other FW. Gets the ball up well too. Another easy FW to hit is the PRGR M3 Hit. @ranghips7: Whattt!!! I can't believe your clubs were stolen?? How did that happen? On a course or at the range? Are JDM clubs common in your area? Maybe they can get tracked down? That's just totally horrible... sorry to hear that.
  15. Chris can probably answer that question on how they compare to the Epon best since he has all 3 ^^. But if it's for a high handicapper, I would recommend the Miz or ViQ. They are made to be very forgiving and easy (not to say that the Epon is not but even more so). For me it would be a toss up really between the two, but seeing that I'm a big Tourstage fan I'd probably get the ViQ.
  16. I'm pretty sure, and Chris can correct me if I'm wrong, that the Technica Forged Titan is the model before the Technity Forged Titan. Very solid feel and totally Epon quality, I think yourpressed and Chris have/had the 380 version of the Technica.
  17. I forgot to mention I hit the 420cc 10* Technica today... It was a different feel from the Technity 460 but still very nice. It might actually be a little more forgiving even though it has a smaller head since the face is shallower by about 10mm and quite a bit wider heel to toe. I liked the feel and the shape of the head at address is also very nice with no markings or alignment aids...

I love the new headcovers... not so much a fan of the bag... especially the enamel a la g-field....
  19. Hi Z3RO, The carbon ferrules are very popular and not always in stock. Sometimes you get them, sometimes you don't. This Epon is the first one I've had with the carbon weave ferrule. I've had Epon irons, woods, wedges, and they all had normal ferrules, but you'll see others on the site here that have the nice ferrules on all their clubs, depends if Chris has them in stock. The grips are both not stock, one is a Winn DSI grip and the other a Golf Pride dual durometer... ^^
  20. Really awesome feedback from everyone and this just shows what a mature and respectable forum this is. When I first saw this topic, I thought "uh oh, here comes the possibility of a flame war" but no, everyone has posted great points and been very very respectable. I applaud you all and it's one of the reasons why I love being here. Thanks.
  21. Both are geared towards lower speed swingers... both are game improvement and forgiving. According to magazine tests, the ViQ MX has the slight edge in distance.
  22. You've all touched on some really good points. I am a big JDM fan, you all know that. But whether JDM is better than American or vice versa, it is of course all subjective and personal. Even though my wife was born and raised in Japan and it's like my second home, I began playing golf using TM, Nike and Ping clubs. I then discovered JDM clubs and have not looked back. For me it was a totally different feel and as Barry above said, unlimited options. The workmanship, materials used and designs for me were out of this world. This is not to say that American companies don't make good products. When we are talking retail here, America and Japan make products for different price ranges really. Retail clubs in the Japanese market just plain cost more in general, and it shows in the workmanship, materials and options available. On the shafts side, it's amazing that even Japanese OEM's will sell clubs from factory with ALL the TOP of the line shafts as options, as well as loft, lie, face angle etc. Though I believe American OEM's are heading in that direction too since it's all about being fit for ones game, right now you can buy a Mizuno driver with every single high end shaft as an option from Mizuno, they will even adjust the LIE on your DRIVER. I don't think you can get that done in the USA. But maybe not everyone needs this kind of customization or all titanium drivers... or not everyone wants to pay for it. But yes there are many of us who are willing to pay for it and appreciate it. It's all about finding what's best for ourselves, and what we are willing to pay for.
  23. Yeah it's the pic angle.... ^^
  24. I know we all love pics... and it's always fun to take them so here we've got two battles brewing... Epon Technity 460ZR vs Epon Technica 420. Two Forged Titans ready to battle it out. The Technity 460 is definitely deeper faced but the 420 has a really nice head shape. The Technica 420 is 10* in loft but for some strange reason... looks less. Fans of smaller heads would definitely be a fan of this one. The crown is also a pearl like blue finish. The Technica 420 comes with Epon Technica stock graphite and came stickered with Length, Swingweight, Total Clubweight and finished CPM. Hopefully I can get out to the range tonight to hit them side by side. Second we have the awesome G-Field Leap-M vs Zomo's Z:Zero. Two neo-mallets that both weigh in at exactly 535g! I just had to see for myself how "bad" the Zomo is based on some negative comments I've read before... I will not writeup how it performs until after the Putter shootout this Saturday. The Leap has a SUS304 insert while the Zero is a bit crisper with a SUS303 insert. Zero is a bit more upright and comes with a Zomo Winn Grip and a very soft head cover. The Leap comes with an Iomic style grip and Nippon putter shaft, my Leap came with a Como!Come! Cherry Blossom cover. Pictures for visual comparisons (Technica has a normal black ferrule while the Technity 460 has the fancy one) :
  25. I like things shiny... but they both look awesome!
