miz14
Thanks to Chris(TourSpec Golfer) for hosting some pics that I snapped at the Sony Open practice rounds on Monday at Tuesday. Snapped a couple of pics. Saw Maruyama testing 5-6 Tourstage drivers. All were shafted with GD Tour AD silver with green stripes on the backside. He also had this shaft on his 3 wood. Was still playing MR23's blades in satin finish. He had a white Paradiso bag on Monday and then changed to an all black Paradiso bag on Tuesday. Really amazing at how many people he has in his entourage. I counted at least 8 people that were with him at all times. His translator, about 4 reps carrying 4-5 clubs with them around, caddy, swing coach, and couple other people that are all in his gallery. Robert Allenby let me take some pics of his Srxion driver and irons. Also got a sneak peek at the new Bridgestone J33 driver. Good looking driver with deep face and compact pear shaped head. Reminds me a a little bigger R7 head. Took some pics. I think this is the same driver that Appleby was using last week at Kapalua. Other notes: Michelle Wie was testing some Callaway 454 ERC Fusions on Monday. Her main driver is TM R7 with Fuji 771Ta Tour spec. She also had a new set of Nike blades in the bag, stamped MW on the toe. She was testing a Yes, C-Groove Tracy putter on the green. Titleist was issuing their new 905T and 905Z drivers and FW to staff members. They also were giving out 503H hybrids out. Brian Bateman, Brad Faxon and Frank Lickliter had 905's in the bag. Sonartec MD's were also popular. Company called Nickent was handing out their new 3DX Genex hybrid clubs. The rep said that these made a huge impact on the Nationwide Tour last year. Shaun Micheel was testing one on the range. Looks like a rescue mid, but has a metallic brown crown. PRGR had their new Zoom hybrid out. UST Accra was testing a new shaft. Had 3 colored bands on it, yellow, black (purple) and white. Only saw Jonathan Byrd hitting it on the range in his steelhead III 3 wood. Lots of R7's still in the bag. Cally was really pushing their 454 ERC Fusion on their staffers. Jesper Parnevik was hitting one with a Aldila NVS (amber). Vijay was hitting a COMP 460 with Mitsubishi shaft. Thanks again Chris. miz14
What kind of putter is Maruyama using?? He was testing a couple out. I think the one in the pic is a Bettinardi proto. Silver finish with white sightline. It kinda looks like a 2 ball without the alignment aids (cirlces) on top. Was kinda triangular in shape. Seemed to be rolling it pretty well with this putter. Â I hope they are better then the previous model. Those are NOT Pro Combo's, those are Split Cavity prototypes that are not going public, I have previously posted details of new Nike clubs. sflaspprentice
Those above have been listed several times over the past year and a half on ebay...I do not believe that they are new, just a tour prototype that could be a future revamp of the new pro combo's scheduled to come out
