BTW guys we have access to any Tour, DASS, or Prototype Bettinardi putter you need at very solid prices!

Bye Bye Premium Zone, This IS my new Gamer! This is not an insert and I am flat out impressed what Bob Bettinardi and team can do engraving with such precision and fine detail what normal putter makers would build with a separate piece.

The one in the pro shop for $997 was the limited edition Japanese MR putter that sold out. There were 300 of those made for Japan. I think there are only 9 of these 1st Art ones. Chris will call Bettinardi tomorrow to confirm.

There is no question that Bettinardi DASS putters are as fine as any in the world. I bought a Hello Ball Big Time in ice blue w/ yellow line (very limited piece). I got it mostly to practice with and make sure of my alingment (the face is very long). My bread and butter is my Golds / GD, but this year I have used the Bettinardi in all four of my rounds. It is amazing. Last week on two long par threes I landed 60' and 80' from the pins. I put each of the first puts to within 18". I also nailed a 20' putt to save a bogey. I have never been so good on long putts. I think the HBBT makes alignment super easy, which is helping me hit my lines from afar and not magnify an error.

But I digress a bit. The feel of the DASS is very unique. Definitely firmer than the G/GD, but soft at the same time. Distance control is fantastic. Love it.

I have one on the way. I'll let you guys know my take on it when it arrives! In my opinion Bettinardi makes the finest putters in the world. More so than Scotty and the rest. ALTHOUGH, i have yet to place my order for the highly acclaimed Gold's Factory. Christmas is coming though.

Rob, let us know how it plays. It sure is a beauty, Chris told me today it rolls the ball wonderfully with that milled face.

Can't wait to! I'll compare it head to head with the Premium Zone as well as several other Bettinardi's and Cameron's. I've become big into putter collecting recently.

So both versions are effectively the same right except some letters on the neck? Would the "1st Art" be more 'collectible' than the Japanese version?

Remember guys it's not an insert. It is MILLED that way! Robert, these are far more rare than the MR 300 pieces released in Japan. These would essentially be the prototypes for those, the first run, we haven't confirmed the exact number of pieces available (Chris was supposed to call bob yesterday) but it is maybe just a few. Chris was lucky to get 3.

  • 2 weeks later...

Just got the putter in the mail today.

I own many of the early Bettinardi's, Rapture, Maru 23, MC 10, and 38 special.

This putter is simply what you would expect Bettinardi to produce after this many more years of experience.

It is as wonderful as a piece of art as it is a putting tool.

Just amazing.

This milling design is better than any in the industry IMO. It has in fact changed the way I feel about Bettinardi putters.

This is the first Bettinardi that really peaked my interest. As a matter of fact, I find myself coming back to this thread just to look at the photos a few times a day. lol

God i sure hope not. Although this new "traintrack" is extremely good at rolling the ball and thus ver accurate, I don't think it compares to the honeycomb feel. Maybe that's just me though.

Will this new milling canibalize the old Honeycombs?

The honeycomb face is pretty good already

I feel the exact opposite, this thing is far better feeling than honeycomb alone in DASS, even with copper plugs.

I don't think the feel of a Bettinardi has to due with the milling. Bettinardi's are not made like traditional putters. The head and neck are milled as one piece. They are not welded from two separate parts. That has always been the mantra about the Bettinardi feel.

The face milling is to get the face perfectly flat with no imperfections.

The new milled center of the Bettinardi Article 1 DSS has to due with putting performance, just like the AGSI or Rife or Guage design putter faces.

The feel of this putter is just like a perfect tour Cameron GSS Newport 2 (not a face insert GSS, the real deal like Tiger's. Just ideal that's all.

So bill San, I assume you have other DASS putters my question is can you feel the difference between a DASS anser with honey comb vs this DASS signature series i sold you?

I ask because I feel a difference of softer, same difference as a golds factory putter with vs without the SS304 premium zone insert.
