Fore Left!
Looking for a 15-16* FW for mostly off the deck use. Needs to be easy to use, without a closed looking face, with excellent sound and feel. Classic looks are a plus. Doesn't have to be the latest and greatest. The newer JBeams, RomaRo Type R, RC TI have caught my eye. Ideas?
Shankopotamus
Jbeam Glorious fw is ridiculously easy to hit of the deck. It's so easy I'm having to put install a heavier, stiffer profile shaft, which will get me more roll, and thus more distance. I wouldn't say it fits your classic look criteria though. It is a shallow design with a slightly larger foot print.
Fore Left!
Thanks for the info. Doesn't necessarily have to be small just not some crazy shape. And a closed face is a definite no no. How is sound and feel on this unit?
lone Ranger
another for the Glorious ...easiest FW I've ever Hit
nobmontana
Epon 202ht is really forgivng. Shallow and rounder profile head. Does launch higher than most 15 deg heads. Feel and sound is quite solid even though it is a Ti head. face does not look closed. Edited March 29, 2015 by nobmontana
twice
I use a 2011 Maruman conductor. It cost $175 brand new still in the shrink wrap. The club is automatic. Just brush the grass with it. It's 14.5º so it's a little stronger than normal, but not any less easy to hit. It's endo forged, and has the classic feel of the club face catching the ball - that I love about JDM clubs. There isnt one on ebay, probably because its so good, people refuse to take it out of their bag. There's are a lot of the 2008 version on ebay. I wouldn't waste a cent on those. nobmontana
never tried one. But the 203 was much more player oriented. I would expect the regular 202 to be right in between the 202HT and the 203 in terms of forgiveness based on specs.
Spoon
202 is a normal 3w the HT wins bec of the forgiveness factor. But don't use a high tee or sky mark it. I game one without a tee. Haven't found anything easier off the deck. 202 is similar to 203 although the 203 feels different and us more compact.
golfer75
The romaro type r is the best one that i have tried. It has that classic shape, square face and is easy to hit off the deck and is a monster off the tee too.

supo
syard XV ticks tee and fairway boxs with aplomb. the new prgr egg might be too funky for ya, but the original shudnt be , (thats stil the king)! ryoma f1 is a monster. any............... any. royal collexction is great. i just bought an older RC CV and its just so easy to hit, but tis not as long as the eggs. the new srixon looks GOOD. of the newer stuff ,this is one id seriosuly contemplate ,but sorry not hit it yet
+TourSpecGolfer
Speaking of RC, new A-Grind is also weeks away. Ako-san promises it's better than any RC to date, we will see! Paired with the new Crazy FW80 regenisis which is easier and softer to use than the original and it should be deadly! But yes Glorious FW is off the hook but you will think it's size is a little round.
Fore Left!
Very Interesting. Do we know anything about it yet? What about the Jbeam RX?
Bravo36
I can't believe no one has even mentioned a Yamaha Inpres X yet. I think mine is the 2012 model, not 100% sure. One of the best I've ever hit, and I've also hit a bunch of them. Edited March 30, 2015 by Bravo36
