Hutch
Gday yall Just curious if any one has tried a low spin 13.5* ish driver head fitted with a low launch low spin shaft. Thinking It could be a good option If the bag had a spot for the extra driver. Any advice on setting this up and how it might work would be great. Pros and cons? Cheers Edited April 25, 2015 by hutchy
nobmontana
I did have a second driver with higher loft shorter heavy shaft for a while but really did not use it much in my rounds. I am thinking I should add either another wedge or 18 deg club of some sort instead. I always wanted to try the Ping Rapture paired with a heavier shaft. 80g class probably like a Diamana B or W; maybe even a Thump FW 85. Callaway Xhot 2 deep has been on my radar as well. As far as JDM, Baldo Brassy and Ryoma F2 look to be good choices though I have never tried them. Do you intend to use it off the deck? or just off the tee? I think that would need to be factored in when choosing the head as well the shaft. If using off the deck, shallower head, higher launch shaft would be my choice. Stew-san is the PhD in this area! Hutch
Sort of been thinking this for a while, probably just of the T. My theory and train of thought is...was would the higher loft be more accurate of the face with initial launch. Pair that with low spin low launch shaft at say 45 would I have myself a fairway finder with good distance.? +TourSpecGolfer
You will get more spin with a higher loft so consider it on a low spin head like a Jbeam.
stevopagolf
Sounds like the Taylormade mini driver.....

theblake
I tried a 12d and it was horrible. I gave it to my mum I think if you go down this path, you need much heavier head and shaft
Hutch
Yep my choice would be Jbeam or Crazy in that regards for sure, need that stick in the bag for the tight fairways when accuracy is a premium without sacrificing to much distance. The devil stick can be wielded when it all opens up. Just not loving 3w at the mo, very rarely use ut any more The CRZ 18* takes care of the p5 fairway shots with ease. Hutch
So have it down to 13.5........ Jbeam Blackout, Crz 450 or any one had any experience with the crz 425 HVD tuning. What would the shaft considerations be in such a head? I know I gota go heavy but what? with so many to choose from...... theblake
IMHO there is only one shaft that' suits this requirement , it is heavy, counterweighted and off the scale stiff, and I have 16 of them By the looks of your address you are close to me, so why not come down the hill for a look and a hit.(Bring the T388 with you!) Google Nunchuk by Nventix, there is a small discussion thread on this board too. Edited April 26, 2015 by theblake
Hutch
Thanks for the advice, of the scale stiff for me would be like trying to hit a beach ball 100m with a cricket bat in a wind tunnel ;) Will be at Keith and Trents place at some point on Tuesday (Ereton Drv) if you wana catch up with me and the 388 we can hit a few balls in the net. Flick me your cell and will txt you in transit. I find the driver and 3w the 2 sticks in the bag that get me in to the most trouble, cant get rid of the driver so eliminating the 3w makes sense... I very rarely use it and only use of the T. Replacing it with a higher lofted more accurate driver seems to add up. Now its just nutting out what set-up to go with. Dont mind playing within myself to become more consistent. Edited April 26, 2015 by hutchy

You got to take everything that you know about golf shafts, throw it away and start again.
