wedda
Hi guys, My friend is looking for the most forgiving 3 wood out there - he is a tall guy with a swingspeed with the driver of 115-118. He is a 2hcp - he is a high ball hitter and currently gaming super peening blues in X.. He would like to buy one and settle with it - just like Stenson :-) Any tips on what he should look at? Cheers! nobmontana
Why is a 2hcp wanting a forgiving fwy wood... for me, forgiving fwy translates to shallow with high MOI heads. With his swing speed, those heads may produce ballooning shots. He might be better off with deeper headswhich probably are not necessarily forgiving. What is he currently using? wedda
He gamed the TM SLDR before switching to the Nike vapor speed (which he thinks feels too closed).. He told me with the help of the right shaft he will most likely be able to get the ball down and not hit the balloons even with something that is very forgiving? He got a Kyoshi black X tipped 1 inch that at least will kill some of the ballooning? =)
daamartin
Original egg 13* with heavy shaft? I have finally tamed the 15* with a Crazy Sigma FW shaft - wow!

Mjr. D
I'm also searching for fairway with those same attributes and I've decided on the new 2015 Egg Fairway.... I think.

stevopagolf
The most forgiving 3W head I have used is the Epon 202HT. Really easy to hit. It really launches high, which is why we had to part ways. The 2 hcp, you described would not get along well with it. Maybe the original egg with a heavier shaft would do the trick. Staxxx
The Baldo Brassy (13.5*) really gives me dead straight low stingers with the Roddio W7WA stiff shaft.....

Completely agree with nob. shallow face wood would not work well as the ball would get even higher. I have a yamaha inpres 3 wood which is very shallow and forgiving but too high of a ball flight for my liking. I lose 20 yards using that head. I'd suggest a deep face wood. I like open faces with flatter lies, so I'm playing an exotics cb pro. Callaway super deep is also a good head, even though these are not JDM. I would love to find a great JDM head, but have not found one yet that stays in the bag :)

If he still have the SLDR shaft the adapter will fit the RBZ. My index is 4.6, in my gamer set I use a less forgiving but more workable 3w (Fourteen SF714) but on my backup set I use thewirakble for more forgiveness of any lie, mainly due to the speed pocket and hot face. It is also relatively shallow face with a big footprint. Only problem is workability - it wants to go straight!
