primo
So there was the back to back aces in Masters, there was Parry's finish at the Doral, but in none can match what I witnessed today at Pacific Dunes. For the first time in history a 4some teed off at Pacific Dunes all armed with Scratch irons. Ari playing his CB's for the first time. On 14th hole par 3 150 yards to the center of the green. 40 mph headwind and 30 mpg crosswind, elevated green with 30 yard dropoff short/left and right of the pin. Ari steps up with a perfect punch into the wind with a hint of draw, lands the ball 5 feet short of the pin, the ball curls right into the hole. Congratulations to Ari, and for those of you that don't know.... Scratch irons you better believe the hype is REAL!

phillypete
so is this the first hole in one with a scratch product?
FairwayFred
To my knowledge this was the first hole in one with a Scratch Golf club. :) However, there have been MANY chip ins with our wedges. Almost everyone that purchases a Scratch wedge chips in with it in one of there first few rounds. Its amazing what the correct sole grind will do to your shortgame. :D 8)

I did get a chip in with my vokey sw while I was in GA, so maybe the vokey loaned some mojo from the scratch on that shot.

bruinduke
Ari, Let me add my congratulations. When Scratch wedges go big time please don't hire Ken Venturi to do those "conversation" ads like the ones for MAC golf.

My whole family lives in Michigan and I have alot of friends in Kalamazoo. My brother went to Western. I actually have a 24 pack of assorted Bells in my fridge right now thanks to a visiting friend from the Zoo. :D He even brought the really good stuff Sparkling Ale and Java Stout to name a few. I have never played The Dunes but have always wanted to. I will let you know when I plan on being in Michigan next and we will set it up. DemolitionMan
Coincidence? Saturday, I was playing Pacific Dunes with three buddies. We were all playing Tourstage irons, but that's not important. We had been hounded all day by this foursome not because they were playing so fast, but in the windy conditions one of my buddies was really slow, his 25 hcp could not keep up. So, here we were on the 14th and I knock one to about 10 feet, the other three guys are right, left, and unbelievably long. So a hunting they go for their balls. I got tired of waiting, so I rolled in my 10 footer for birdie, then walked over to help search for lost balls. Well, these guys took so long and here comes the other foursome behind us. I tell my buddies, let's just go to the next tee and quit holding these guys up, you can all write down par. So, in the rush to get to the next tee and tee off, I forgot to pick my ball up out of the cup. As my friends are teeing off on 15, out of nowhere a ball lands at the back of the tee box. I had no idea where it came from but it reminded me that I had left my ball in the cup at #14. Oh well..... So Ari, did you find my ball? You must have been the one that was continually bombing it 100 yards past your playing partners and then standing by your ball nervously with your arms crossed while they (that one in perticular) struggled to find and advance their ball. You should have said hello! That really is an amazing coincidence, us both playing the same ProV1X PRACTICE #6. I was very happy to see that the ball in the hole was the same model and number with the same stamping as mine so I didnt have to go looking behind the green in the gorse. Plus I was afraid the nervous guy with the crossed arms might get mad at me for hitting into them on the tee....................
