  1. I have actually had it for a month and played at least 20 rounds in with it. It initially took me 9 holes to get dialed in. The mistake I made at first was choking down 1 1/4 inches. My optimum length for a driver is 45.75 inches. It just didn't work and felt off balance choking down on the club. So reading all of the info on Fourteens website , the club is designed to be played at the full length. It actually felt easier to handle and more well balanced gripping at 47 inches. .Performance has been off the charts with no drop off (no infamous honeymoon period wear off).
  2. Prgr has an EGG iron set. The 7 is exactly 27 degrees, and is the exact same design blueprint as the EGG utility. The problem is that it would probably be very difficult to impossible to get the 7 by itself. PRGR is limited in non standard requests. They don't like to branch away from their standard setups. I actually special ordered the EGG IRON 6 -PW 2 years ago. that setup got me thru 2011 as I had a bad elbow injury that year. I still use the 6 and 7 depending on course setup.
  3. In my never ending quest in finding the ultimate driver I really by accident stumbled on a gem this late season. Its the Fourteen CT 112 driver. Simply put its a 460 CC head that is super solid, (Yes iT feels as good or better than the EPON TECHNITY) From a ball flight standpoint its a mix of the penetrating ball flight and roll out of the SYARD T.388 and the forgiveness of the Ryoma Maxima. Yep its that good. Here is the weird part. I didn't have to re shaft the club to max it out. Im using the stock 60 gram S flex at the full 47 inches. This club is so well balanced that It doesnt feel like 47 inches swinging this club. The best part is how jaw dropping long this club is. The Adams Launch Lab has been the benchmark for distance of all the drivers Ive ever tested. Only a perfect hit with the SYARD T.388 comes close. (However I'm point and shoot with the T388, and never had the random miss I had with the launch LAB. ) The CT 112 I am also point and shoot for the most part (not quite at the level of the T388 , but the rare miss I have with it is just off the fw, never out of play. I have not tried the CT 112 with my normal shaft lab try out that I normally use as this setup is as close to perfect for me as I could ever hope for. The price point is good on these now and its worth checking out, even if a reshaft is necessary as this is a top notch quality head.
  4. The stock shaft worked very well for me in the 388. . I did add 4 grams of weight using tungsten weight pads in the back center of the head.. I don't think I could get any more out of this club. I did reshaft the XV with the Crazy Boron. That was a big improvement over the stock shaft..
  5. The EGG Utilities and FW have been a part of my bag rotation longer than any other club. These are now at the top of my want list.
  6. I still have the K2K 3 and 5. They were awesome clubs.
  7. I had the exact same results. The Crazy Boron is perfect in the XV. The Fubuki K and the Crazy prototype 513 have yielded the best results for me with the Maxima. Why are you selling it?
  8. Yup. I believe low tight launching shafts will work best in the Ryoma type D V or G.. I put the Boron in the type V and it reached high altitude too quickly and there was too much shaft lag.. IN the XV control and ball flight with the Boron was much better. I did put a tipped ROYAL DEC S in the TYPE V 10.5 and hit some bombs today, overall control was good. My summer project is maxing out the Ryoma Maxima to its fullest potential. I will try some unique setups and report the ongoing progress.
  9. i got the type D and V yesterday. The 10.5 V was slightly closed, and the D was dead square. Not What I expected. It didn't effect ball flight though. I was hitting mid high straight balls to a slight power fade using a FUBUKI K. 60 S AND i am a right to left player with most driver setups. It hit much higher than the XV given the same loft.
  10. i clicked on the link to check this out.I saw the video pitch, but it appears the offer is off the table.
  11. A friend of mine got the G and I hit it. Even at its long length of almost 47 inches I had no control issues. The entire face is a sweet spot. No wind or down wind it was incredible. The T 388 has an advantage into the wind but the Maxima G held up fine.. The standout for me was how stable and explosive the Maxima was thru impact and how easy it was to hit bombs with minimal effort.
  12. Project X graphite hybrid shafts are fantastic as are the Fubuki Alpha Hybrid shafts and the Kuro Cage hybrid shafts. What these all have in common is that they are very smooth (not rebar) have a great feel and a smooth kick yet very stable.
  13. I tee up the T 388 and XV as I would all drivers. Both 10.5 I use the same formula. 1/2 of the ball above the crown. Both stock shafts have been working great. The XV is a bit more workable, but not quite the rollout of the T 388. . The only adjustments Ive made to both clubs is that I have added 3 grams of lead tape on the back of each club. I only have 1 round in with the XV so far, The ball speed is faster with the T 388 (when pured) , but overall distance is very close between the 2. (MOre carry with the XV) Today the FWs were swamp grass due to the rain we had last night. The T388 is freakish in its rollout on wet fws. It hydroplanes thru the water if you hit a stinger. The XV is more subtle, a quiet 7 to 10 yards roll on lush-wet fws. (BETTER THAN THE HIT AND BACKUP OF SEVERAL DRIVERS) i also think the XV has a bit more fade bias. Power fades were the shot of choice. I normally use a 2 driver setup as a rule. I use a draw based driver on holes that trouble is on the right, and a neutral to slight fade biased driver when trouble is on the left or a hole sets up for a draw. Last years GLORIE has been my draw based driver of choice since last season. I can see the T 388 bumping it out. The XV is my new neutral to fade based driver.
  14. That's good to hear as I have an XV on the way to compliment the T388. I hope the stock works as good for me as the GD does in the T388. If the stock shaft doesnt work for me, I have had great results with the BLACK TIE 5M3 iN A PING G25 , AND THE NEW 39 Gram Project X x IN A TOUR r1 v2.
  15. I agree completely. The Yonex 380 is not in the same league. Very penal on miss hits. I have yet to hit anything close to a bad shot with the 388 after 4 weeks. Even misses are acceptable, and good hits are a fantastic experience. The 388 is the 1st driver Ive hit where I feel a great hit leaves nothing behind. Feel, sound, trajectory, control, wind performance , rollout it has the whole package. I have an XV coming in hoping that it will match the 388 but give me additional options.
  16. I don't see a gear effect. The old roll and bulge of persimmon woods a toe hit would curve back to the center unless your swing got stuck in a block mode. The 388 just hits dead straight where the club is pointing. (normally square or near square because the smaller head squares up easier yet never seems to turn hard left.) Spin rates are so efficient back spin and side spin are both reduced thus the straightest shot produced by a driver ever. Two standout things about the 388. Pure hits are off the charts good. Even low thin hits seems to scrape out at an amazing distance for a thin low groove hit. There is a slight distance loss on heel side hits but its not a show stopper.
  17. Honma 440CC Perfect switch gets overlooked. Very solid.
