  1. That sucks. I Axtually only swing about 115-120 now. Hurt my left shoulder and I'm old and washed up.
  2. So two votes for the Kamui Custom Two votes for the Modart One vote for the .388 One vote for the Jbeams How about this; from my list, what do you guys think is the a) best feeling b) longest c) lowest spin d) best "tech" e) most anti left No love for the Honma Tour Worlds? Is the Modart low spin/launch? It's a pretty shallow face and doesn't come in 8.5* so I'm kind of worried. I already have the Maxima Type V so I'm not sure it's worth getting the Modart, too...
  3. I used to have the Crazy 435 - awesome, long head but bland feel. Great head though, so I'm all for the JBeams. So the Kamui Pro KPX. It's just super low spin and long? Low launch? Forgiving at all? I am interested the .388. I'll hook it you think? How come? Thanks.
  4. Haha, I still think it is, I just happen to hook it all the time. Obviously my swing but for whatever reason, it doesn't work with this head. In terms of distance, feel, low launch, spin, workability and versatility I stand by my words. Still, I'm tossing it in the trash.
  5. I can't hit the SLDR 430 straight. It's good driver when you do... it's long and the feel is pretty good, but it's not forgiving enough for me; I can't stop hooking it. Plus... and most importantly... it's not JDM. I'm a stupid asshole for giving it a shot. Suffice to say. It's going straight to the trash. POS. I spent the last couple of hours on the forum, going through discussions and checking out pictures and descriptions of all the "best" drivers, available and this is what I came up with: Kamui Air Kamui Nitro Foam Kamui Works Ray Kamui Pro KPX Honma Tour World 430 - 8.5 Honma Tour World 455 - 9.5 S-Yard T.388 - 9.5 S-Yard XV forged - 9.5 TPRX D - 8 or 8.5 PRGR Egg 1 - 7.5 JBeam 535 - 9 Modart MA01D - 9.5 I'm looking for very low spin Mid/Low trajectory. Best of the best technology (metals). Best possible feel - soft yet crisp. Think Epon Technity feel. DEAD NEUTRAL face. This is a must! Anti left if possible. 7-9.5 loft (if not high launching and ballooning). Based on the criteria, above, is there one that fits the bill better than the others? Thanks fellas.
  6. Any feedback on these? I love the look of them!
  7. I'm nowhere near good enough to notice a difference but I can definitely see the pros and cons of it, as explained by Chris and others. That's why I have both, haha.
  8. Oh man, I've always wanted these. Mizuno softness with an extra layer of butter. $4000, no. Sadly.
  9. Not a purest type of thing. I think it's also considered to negatively effect feel...
  10. Might have to get one. Thanks for the review. So does it sit totally dead neutral at address, then?

I have sky dream jump - not a damn issue with them. Fantastic. I also have Gold's Factory wedges... a little large but nice all around. I'd like to try the Vokey cold Forged wedges.

I've heard of it. I think it's $1000. Supposed to be 125 modulus fibre. Diamana X is 80T Carbon Fibre. With that being said, I'd take a Diamana with 1T carbon fibre over an Aldila with 10,000. Aldila stinks.

I agree. I couldn't care less what people want to spend their money on. I actually love interesting people who have passion for unique things, both material and non material. My only point is that I wouldn't suggest your MAIN reason for purchase, be performance (having something totally unique, exotic, curiosity factor, etc) is prob a better motivation for purchase) gains or you'll prob be disappointed as it's pretty difficult for a shaft's performance to justify a 6 figure price tag. With that being said, to some, 6 figures is 6 dollars (to others), so yes, have at er!
  14. Agreed, too many good choices. Seems like the most ever at any one time. I wish there was a clear cut winner here. No complaints with the Maxima V except the ever so slightly closed face and non adjustability (some prefer that). Also, the Modart irons vs the new SUS316s - are the 316s the softest ever? Chris thinks Mizunos are softer...
  15. "I'm", not "it's". "it's" sounds perverted.
  16. It's been a while but it's starting to salivate again. I haven't been following things as closely as in the past so I'd love to hear member's thoughts on the current best drivers and irons. Drivers: So what's currently sitting atop the pile? Modart? the Maxima, still? TPRX? The new Honma drivers? Kamui Air? Water? Fire? Geotech RF800? PRGR Egg 1? Irons: Anything out that's truly special? Would love to hear your thoughts! Thanks.

This goes far beyond golf performance. I personally couldn't care less if everyone on this forum bought their $120,000 shaft. People pay 50 million for art that looks like a third grader painted but I think expecting to notice price warranted improvement with a $1800 shaft or... $120,000 shaft is quite frankly, ridiculous. Hobby, fun, intrigue... I get it. It's supposed to be fun and if we have the means, then why not. Go for it! However, if you actually want to play better golf, I'm pretty confident $1800-$120,000 on some serious lessons with Butch Harmon will take your game further. I've tried everything from "made for" crap (I've had my ass kicked by many 5HC golfers using made for shafts) to $1000 80T stuff and personally I think once you get to the $300 mark, you're in the top 98% of price/performance ratio. For example, the Diamana Ahina performs as well as any shaft I've ever hit. A $300 shaft does the job for the best on this planet (PGA)... it's most likely good enough for us. Again, though, it's not nearly as exciting, prestigious, interesting, as owning a $1000+ shaft. I get it and again, if you have the means, go for it. Enjoy!

Is Tourstage coming out with X line new drivers this year?
  19. No I mean the Egg 7 and Maxima are definitely slightly closed. The TM SLDR, Crazy 430 seemed totally neutral. But ya, pictures can definitely be deceiving.
  20. Both slightly closed faces? Booooo!
  21. I have both of these. Onoff Forged larger and more forgiving. Feel is similar but when both pured, the 302s are softer. Onoff's are stronger lofts. Two of the best irons ever in my opinion. Can't go wrong. I'd base your decision on forgiveness.
