So how do the Aerotechs feel compared to the Nippons you mentioned?

Interesting. Ya the Program 130s are high as s**t but accurate and no feel. Never hit Project X or steel fibre so I can't comment there. Would you say these are worth considering putting in the Epon personals or just stick with a nice steel shaft? Thanks.

The Personals have more offset than the 302s? What are the C10's? After reading this entire thread, i've come to two conclusions: 1) We are all very very ill. 2) I still have no idea what shaft to use with the Personals...

Really? I've heard that over on Golfwrx but not here... makes sense since they're not jspec. They definitely suit my swing and if the feel is as good as some claim, perhaps i'll have to give them a shot...

I absolutely love my Modus 3's in my Onoff Forged irons and the monacos in my mizunos seem very good as well. With that being said, the Nippon Super Peening Blues are possibly my all-time favorite shaft. The Matrix Program 130s are kind of blah feeling and launch too high - have them in my 302s. I've never tried Aerotechs or C-Taper. I want whatever shaft makes the personals feel best. Are the C-Tapers a good enough feeling shaft, worthy of putting in, arguably, the nicest feeling irons of all time (personals) or should I go Aerotech or something graphite?

Yep, passing on the Yamahas. Going to scoop up the Personals, sell the 302s and in the new year, contemplate the Kyoeis and 303s when and if they come out. Now for shafts. What to put in the personals!?!?!

I can't use 1050's or anything like that but from Monacos, Modus 3, Super Peening Blues, AeroTechs, Program 130s, KBS C-Tapers, shafts along those lines... which do you guys think would be the best bet to use with the Personals to preserve or even enhance the feel of them? Thanks!

Glad you mentioned this. I'm thinking along the same lines as you. I figure Epon will release 303s this summer so I might as well sell my 302s now and get the personals and possibly Yamahas to replace them, even if they're not totally similar. I also have the Onoff Forged and they are great... the Yamahas are more of a players club than the Onoffs right?

I'm thinking of selling my Epon 302s and getting the 2013 (non Tour) Yamahas or Kyoei Zestaim's Fi-1/Fi-2 or Honma Pro's to replace them. Thoughts? I'm also thinking of picking up the Epon Personals. Are the Yamaha's pretty much a direct replacement for the 302's? Are the Personals really all the much better feeling than the 302s? How much more difficult are they to hit? I'm concerned considering this is going to cost a lot if I go ahead with it. If you can help me out that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys and Merry Christmas!

Hey guys, I want to start building all my own clubs and I was wondering if you guys could help me make a list of all the tools I need to do this: I'm looking to do everything from scratch Spining the shafts butt trimming, tipping and installing Loft/Lie adjustments Frequency length, swing weight, etc. Gripping Right now I have a vice, shaft cutting machine, and all the typical things such as grip tape, shafting beads, epoxy, etc. What else do you recommend I buy? I'd like to know all companies that forge Jspec clubs. Endo is obvious. Miura - correct? Kyoei Mizuno Honma/Beres Which other am I missing? I have a sick dream to one day have a set from all the different forging companies so I'm curious to know. Right now I have: Epon 302s - Matrix Program 130 (thinking of getting the personals but I don't know...) Miura MB-5003s - Super Peening Blues Onoff Forged - Modus 3's Mizuno Mp-37s - Monacos. I'd like to try the Personals (although very pricey and more club that I should be using), the 2013 Yamaha (non tour model), the Kyoei Zestiem line or the Beres Pro II or Pro IP Decisions decisions!

Ah it'd be cool to see. Just how Onoff did with their Forged iron this year and last years Yamahas. I've never hit irons with this so I'm not sure what real world differences it makes but I'd like to find out.

I'm curious to try something with a laser etched face. Preferably something to replace my 302s.

Can someone put a little top 5 or top 10 companies most likely to be CONSISTENTLY forged, assembled, etc in JAPAN. Obviously Epon is #1 as they've never been forged or assembled anywhere but Japan. Would Miura fit this bill as well? From reading this post it sounds like Yamaha forges and assembles the majority of their clubs in Japan. What other companies? Personally, I buy JDM equipment because i'm told it's superior in terms of materials, feels, and to some degree, performance. I also buy it because it's exclusive and fun. I'm not going to lie, it's a little disappointing to hear a fair amount of gear is forged or assembled in China and Taiwan. Just looses a little of the Mystique. Blind test would I be able to notice a difference in a club forged assembled with high quality control, in China or Taiwan compared to Japan. Highly HIGHLY doubtful. Still, kills a little of the mystique.
