Just finsihed my third round of golf this week. Before i get into what i'm about to get into, i just want to say, if any of you are considering a 3 wood........don't even entertain the idea of getting anything other than the Epon Technity 3 wood. 14th hole today........567yrd par 5. Hitting my driver like crap all day, hit my drive maybe 260. Second shot, I pull out the Technity 3 wood..........smash a laser right onto the green with a soft landing. That club is soooo good it's scary! I've owned a few 3 quality 3 woods in my day and this thing's trajectory and distance is nothing short of unbelivable! I'm not one for BS claims. I s**t you not, this thing absolutely crushes the ball. I have mine shafted with a Mach Line Fairway shaft......wonderful shaft. Very accurate. NOW, onto my main concern. I'm curious as to what you guys have to say. I have a bunch of different wedges, Fourteen, Technity, Epon X, Yururi raw black, Gekku, PRGR, Tourstage X, Vokey, Mizuno and Cleveland. The best feeling wedge is the Epon X........it's very close though. I like Fourteen a lot, Raw Black Yururi and Mizuno and Tourstage. The Technity spins the ball the most out of any of these wedges by far. I'm not sure how you guys feel about spin in a wedge but how much is too much? I hit my wedges today, especially on pitch and chips today, very well. However, i found a lot of my shots literally stuck (even from close fringe chips) to the green like the ball was sticking to a piece of velcro. Several times, i landed the ball at one place expecting it to roll it's way up to or near hole. However, with these crazy high spinnng wedges, especially the Technity, you can take the roll pretty much right out of the equation. What are your guys thoughts on this? Is there such thing as too much spin in a wedge? Is this just a transition you need to get used to?

  5. Wow. Very interesting. I'm just now getting serious about golf. My game's been a disaster this past 6 months but in the long run, it will pay off. I don't know very much about the "in's and out's" of the golf swing but i do own a copy of "5 Lessons" as well as some Jack Nicklaus books that i'm reading right now. These books should do wonders in helping me understand. I'm all about keeping things easy and simple and letting your body move freely. I believe if there's a position someone tells you to get into that seems nearly impossible, then it's probably not the position for you. I'm very in tune with my body simply because of the years i've spent dissecting pitching mechanics and although it was a serious serious struggle littered with frustration for many years, i do realize that now, it's to my advantage to have such an understanding of the mechanics of the delivery. This is exactly where i'd like to get with my golf swing eventually. I want the ability to know when something's off, and know precisely what adjustment i need to make in order to correct it. I believe if a person has this skill along with the ability to not get TOO CRAZY with over analyzing and awareness, they have the best chance to bring forth their full potential. I totally agree with what you said about Tiger. Although he looked really good today, i don't believe he's as solid of a ball striker as he was with Butch. He used to routinely run away with tournaments but when you watch him today, he just manages to make a few less critical mistakes than the second place finisher. Seems like he used to be a better putter as well. I might be wrong there though. Chris, what are the main "swing types" in golf over the years? I've only heard of the "Stack and Tilt" and although i can identify maybe one other, i don't know the actual names. I'd like to know this so i can research which type i believe would best suit me.
  6. Hmmm, any particular reason why?
  7. Here's his site. He doesn't buy the head still, body rotate around spine teaching, that's for sure. What do you guys think? http://www.mikeaustingolf.com/clips/
  8. With the Type J's being so soft, does one lose some distance compared to other, slightly harder clubs?
  9. I tested Chris' proprietary shaft and i came away impressed. I'll get into that tomorrow. I'll give you guys my full review if you will.

Matrix line of shafts look interesting but wow is their line a mess of names and confusion. Rombax and Speeder hybrid shafts sounds good as well. I have a GD UT shaft right now and it's very nice in my Bridgestone J33 hybrid. What do you guys feel is the finest in the land? P.S. If someone can clarify how many or the names of the hybrid shafts Matrix makes that would be a feat.
  14. New or used but good condition.
  15. Pic below. Right handed. New or in very good shape. Thanks.
  16. What are the differences between the Gauge Design "Studio", "Forged MB3's", "NC-1's" and the "MB-2's"? Which are forged, which aren't and are certain ones handmade? I'm looking to buy a set. Thanks.
  17. Want to buy a new or very good condition G-Field Leap (non M version) putter. Preferably blue in color. Thanks.
  18. Please PM me if you have one or know of where i can get one. Thanks.
  19. Well, so much for that. Looks like i'm 2 yrs too late.

  21. I'd love to hear opinions/debates. I've only ever been into heal/toe weighted putters but i think i need to widen my horizons a little. Does the G-Field Leap or Leap M (whatever the difference is, i'm not sure) rank around the best?
  22. I have an Epon 460 and a Bridgestone J33R and a Titleist 905R and the Titleist hits the ball the furthest out of these three. The Epon being the shortest. Know sane person can honestly tell me Titleist doesn't make quality drivers. I will admit however, the Epon has a fee all it's own and it's a damn good one!
  23. Could someone please tell me how many grams come off per one inch of shaft trimming on the butt end? I'm thinking of buying a 90 gram shaft and trimming it 3 inches. Need to know what the weight will then be at. Thanks.
  24. Ya i have one. Not much there in terms of feel.
